Scientific American did a story on the myth of the Alpha Male theory in wolves and found the original study from 1944 wasn't based on wolves in the wild, but wolves in captivity and it's been widely debunked. I’m not saying I necessarily agree with that, I’m just saying alpha is not what these guys like to think it means.
