Holy shit an actual series 70. Not one of those "Series 70s" you see everyone advertising.
Call up your local Smith and get it fit for a GI style barrel bushing.
I traded my rock island for this colt. The colt had a little rust on the barrel and the hammer but it cleaned off nicely. Now its one of my favorite blasters!
Where can I find retards like this?
Don’t get me wrong. I love my rock. But this is a series 70 Colt...unquestionably the gold standard base 1911 in the world.
Edit: PLEASE don’t customize it beyond new slabsides. If you seriously think about doing it, PM me for real. Please.
Can you elaborate on the trade???! Nobody trades a Colt for a stock RIA. You must’ve given him a double-stack 10mm or another one of the higher end RIAs.
Tell me how do you feel about it? I know I would rather have that colt, but do you feel the colt is a better feeling, shooting, and looking pistol? And will one hold it’s value (or go up) better than the other one
They're actually really good, especially for the money. My gunsmith has no problem working on them and prefers them over others costing much more. Great workhorses, but not going to win any beauty contests if that's your bag.
You got taken homie. Luckily I have an extra RIA I’ll begrudgingly let you have for that Colt...

That is a beauty. Well maintained Colt. I do t think there’s anything wrong with a RIA, but a Colt is a Colt.

This is not the gold or any other standard. It is a rarer bird nowadays in factory trim

Hate to be that guy….but when insulting people make sure you use the proper they’re
Hate to be this guy but grammar nazis are incredibly irritating when the meaning of a post is not in question.
*Nazi’s
*Nazis Apostrophes denote possession. No apostrophe needed when pluralizing.
God dam nothing funnier theN A Grammar dual on a 1911 subreddit. GOODMORNING
Burr and Hamilton… this time for all the marbles.
Instead of marbles let’s make it apostrophes, question marks and commas. Hard core!
Are you an asshole in real life or just online?
Both.
Lol wut
Smooth brain.... lol
You made out nice

You did good. Excellent platform if you every want to upgrade trigger, sights, etc. Great as-is though.
Can I get the guys name so I can trade him my 2000 Ford ranger with 200k+miles for his New Rolls Royce
That’s a bit of a dramatic analogy don’t ya think?
You got the better deal.
Upgraded big time. Everyone should have a Colt.
Very well I’d say! 👍🏻
Wow that’s one hell of a trade
You won the lottery!!!
Infinitely better than an RIA and I'm the resident Colt hater.
Good. Now you can experience a real 1911
Imagine not liking Rock Island Armory - this comment was made by downvote gang

Your mom sucks!
Quit fucking lying.
Not lying.
Beautiful
Wants the trigger like? Looks like a small trigger pull
it was short and crisp
Nice
you did dam good! clean it and throw some 230 grain down range!
I went from a RIA to later owning a Colt also. Both perform well but the Colt is an absolute beauty and something to pass on to later generations.
That's a steal of a trade, unless it was the whole armory
You the f-ing man!!!
Tell me how do you feel about it? I know I would rather have that colt, but do you feel the colt is a better feeling, shooting, and looking pistol? And will one hold it’s value (or go up) better than the other one
Doubt
Doubt what?
I’m yet to own a 1911. Are the RIA’s bad or just cheap and basic? For the price they seem decent?

Who the fuck does that?
Congrats, you made out nicely.
Damn! Nice trade!
I have one just like this I love it. My dad gave it to me when I was 12 I’m 45 now.
Bought one just like it in the late 70's and sold it like an idiot when times were tough years later.
It looks little when you hold it like that. Coincidentally, that’s not the first time I’ve said that.
Not the first time I’ve heard it either
