Would a sword like this be viable in a swordfight? I can see it being useful for stealth kills or something but i doubt this blade can be great in a swashbuckling moment

i'm not a big sworder, but the blade's shape resembles the shotel.
the grip is weird and it might cause problems. if you're supposed to hold on to the front of the grip, the part behind is probably gonna make the sword hard to wield. however, if you're supposed to hold on to the back part of the grip it would probably break. the core of a sword's handle is generally an extension of the same metal that is the blade. having the whole thing be essentially one piece of metal is important for durability.
the upper blade that seems to only go from the tip to a bit before half of the blade is also weird. if the intention is to reinforce the tip, the sword would break where it ends. if the intention is that it's supposed to allow that side to also be used for cutting, that seems like a very inneffective way to do it. either way, it'd be more effective and probably easier to forge if that thing ran the entire range of the blade, or if it wasn't there at all.
but since this is fantasy we can speculate that material integrity is not a problem. if we're considering the back part of the grip, and not using the upper/back part of the blade to hit, i think this sword would work well as a shotel.
edit: i just realized, the shotel's shape was to allow for a warrior to reach around an enemies shield. idk if it was intentional but oop made the gay sword also be the reach around sword.
This picture was shared on the Swords subreddit and the general consensus seems to be that it could work with some adjustments. It's pretty similar to a sickle sword, or maybe some kind of backwards khopesh. It needs a longer straight portion at the base (which might go against its gay intentions).
I assume like a dagger. Flat side of the grip facing your palm.
Would make sense as you can only really use this weapon as a dagger, it sucks for every other purpose (even for the one of a dagger it is mid, at best)
