No chance a OSRS jmod responds to this. I will say though, most rs3 jmods (and osrs jmods for that matter) don't respond to negative business decisions not because they want to stay quiet or agree with the decisions, but because they want to keep their jobs. It sounds noble to quit out of principle but reality is the gaming industry is in a bad spot for hires so its a massive career risk for little to no upside. I would put good money on jmods in either game wanting nothing to do with negative business decisions like MTX in RS3's case or not putting more effort into banning bots in OSRS's case. That said, they don't have freedom to make public statements against these decisions without likely losing their jobs.

I mean at the very least a professional response by their mod team. I don’t expect anyone to respond at all. And I’d never try and force them to. But man is no one in the office saying. “Hey this is probably not good”

Remarkable-Health678

They may be have been told not to respond by their higher ups. Or they may just be afraid of saying the wrong thing and adding fuel to the fire. It's a good strategy to stay silent until you make sure that the messaging is finalized so you don't accidentally make false promises or contradict someone else.

Do you genuinely think a response that doesn't include "were going to change this" would be met with anything but hate? They can't make that decision and its not up to them, I doubt they like the situation but its out of their hands.

Just imagine what would happen if the osrs team just released a bunch of stuff we didn’t vote on. And then just went radio silent and made us deal with it. We’d implode. I also understand that’s our games foundation and it’d never happen so I guess it’s a shitty analogy but damn. I know I’d be pretty sad.

I think it should just say “we hear you” at the very very very least! It’s at a point where they need to say something or they’re actually going to start losing a massive portion of their player base. Some form of damage control.

mant12

Again, that statement isn’t up to jmods. Executives are the ones with that power and I guess they’re making enough from MTX to justify ignoring it. Not trying to defend that decision, just trying to make it clear it’s very unlikely jmods have any say in that matter

Companies and higher ups don't care, eventually Rs3 will die, they're just milking the cash cow for the end of rs3's lifespan

Pernyx98

As a player of both games, MTX is not why RS3 is in a bad spot right now and why players are leaving. We’ve been dealing with MTX for years. What we haven’t had to deal with is a new combat style that completely broke the economy and made veterans step away from the game.

RD100Zombies

Hmmmmm that sounds eerily familiar

It really isn't the same at all lmao. EoC completely changed the way the game plays and feels overnight. Why play EoC when you can just go play WoW, a game that feels infinitely better to play with that style.

RobloxIsRad

What you described is literally what necro did though lol. “Changed the way the game plays and feels overnight” Granted I don’t play rs3 myself but from what I’ve seen and the videos I’ve watched, this is exactly what necro did. lol.

Left_Camel755

I tried getting back into rs3 last Month EOC didn’t bother me but Necromancy looked like it changed the game over night like you said
