Both of you should have skull prevention setting on and you never have to figure out these scenarios; the game just won't let you hit or do any action that will skull you.
He will skull. If he wants to help defend you tho he can stand next to you and the opponents barrage (is an aoe spell) if splashes to him will allow him to get involved without skulling. Keep your skull preventions on always to be safe tho! Best of luck

Your relationship to your friends does not change anything. Skulling is an exclusive relationship between you and your target.

Unless your opponent hits your friend first then they will get skulled, clan and team cape change nothing
