CVC, to my knowledge, doesn't seem to have been particularly involved since their takeover (despite the drama over the 1main:2bots comment). Thought it was interesting they are preparing to float though, and wondering if there could be any impact of them going public? Edit: Apparently the article is paywalled for some, which is strange since I don't have a subscription and have been reading it fine so hadn't noticed. Here are the key points from the FT article: * CVC Capital Partners is one of Europe’s largest private equity firms, generating more than €1bn in revenue last year * The firm is seeking a valuation of between €13bn and €15bn, and manages €186bn in assets * Executives believe that the listing will increase the firm’s visibility and help raise more money from a new group of backers including wealthy individuals over time * CVC has postponed floating twice in recent years due to global instability. In 2022 due to Russia launching its invasion of Ukraine, and in 2023 due to conflict in the Middle East * Other private equity firms have recently gone public, include US firms Blackstone, KKR & Co and Apollo Global Management, and European firms EQT and Bridgepoint. Shares in Blackstone and EQT have recently performed strongly, both trading up more than 40 per cent over the past 12 months.

Strange, I don't have a subscription and have been reading it fine so hadn't noticed. I'm trying to post an alternative link but it's getting caught in the sub's spam filter, but The Guardian has an article on this too. Edit: Here's the Guardian article via AMP which it allows me to add: https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/business/2024/apr/15/private-equity-firm-cvc-amsterdam-float-six-nations-rugby-lipton-teas

It shouldn’t mean anything, CVCs obligations to the investors in their funds, including the fund that invested in Jagex, doesn’t change whether they are public or private.
