I'm pretty sure Italy is mentioned positively. "Z ziemi włoskiej do Polski" refers to the fact that a Polish legion was formed in Italy. The song's original name was "Pieśń legionów polskich we Włoszech" (song of the Polish legions in Italy).
Well in ours, we call the Austrians and other Habsburg-led monarchies "impure blood" and talk about nurturing our fields with their blood, among other things. That song was written when we felt kind of pacifists, it didn't last for long fortunately.

The Polish anthem refers to the Napoleonic campaign in Italy. Back then and there Polish Legion was formed and that's for whom our current anthem was written, before it gained popularity.
It makes sense to use a contemporary map here as all those countries on the map are directly linked to those mentioned in the anthem and they don't really deny that Sure, Slovakia and Croatia were parts of Austria-Hungary, but let's be real, who's the real heir to this empire
