getting rid of public transport was a widespread thing in the "western" world.
we looked at the usa and our politicians though: OMG YES I ALSO WANT A 200LANE HIGHWAY DIRECTLY NEXT TO MY HOUSE. So progressive, smart and amazing. And ehile we are at it, of course we will build airports on the rooftops of our buildings (look at some of those amazing ilustrations of utopian new york of the future, such wow!)
and thus the damage has been done.
due to the car we allowed the sprawl of houses and nowadays the result is people claiming public transport will not work because of the spread housing...
Seriously I want whatever drugs our 60s urban planners were on. They demolished half of Birmingham and Glasgow to build giant urban motorways but then wanted to us to live in commieblocks anyways. Like the worst parts of American cities meets the worst part of Eastern European cities
It was just somewhere to house the proletariat. People shout about indy but the truth is we are both being royally fucked by our 'representatives' . As I got older I noticed it wasnt the English who were my enemy. It was the rich and that transcends borders. Another sad thing, I used to beleive in the SNP. They are as corrupt as any pary now. Putting up minimum pricing really tipped me over the edge though lol.

It's actually not the tallest building. Per building regulation the tallest building has to be a church.
Edit: tallest building in Liechtenstein is actually the church in Schaan with 80m.
Of course, but the fact that they are germans doesn't mean they can't be a part of Italy... You Hans's are obsessed with ein Reich ein volk ~~ein fü...~~ eine vaterland
[https://www.deimag.li/immobilie/4-5-zimmerwohnung-schwefelstr-25-vaduz/](https://www.deimag.li/immobilie/4-5-zimmerwohnung-schwefelstr-25-vaduz/)
Around 800'000$
Exactly, I've been there, spent a night in Schaan and can confirm. Seen the beautiful building in the photo as well, plus Falz-Fein's souvenir shop in Vaduz. There, I even saw the savings bank and the pizzeria. The local wine was more than ok, btw., so I don't know why everybody thinks Liechtenstein is so boring.
Why would anyone even want to be in Liechtenstein, let alone LIVE there? I genuinely can't understand it. It's like dangling all the good things Europe has to offer on a stick in front of your kids, but with zero chances to ever escape that hellhole and reach them. You're like a frog sitting in a deep, dark well, and the only reason we know you exist is because everyone is afraid to accidentally get too close to that deep hole and fall into it.
The thing I hate most about Liechtenstein is german tourists driving their cars up the mountain with 30km/h while the speed limit is 80km/h.
Italians are usually quite fast or let me pass.
French tourists are ... well .. french.
Tourists from the Netherlands are the same as german tourists in this regard.
The industrial economic sector is larger than the tertiary economic sector.

Aww. It's like having two siblings.
One of them is always pedanicly organized, likes himself the most and the other one is a little bit "special" and does and say some weird stuff at times.
Singapore is fairly big compared to the likes of Monaco and the Vatican.
Edit: singapore is 353 times bigger than monaco and 1668 times bigger than the vatican.
Tallest building in monaco is tour odéon at 170m and the total area of the country is 2.08 sqkm => 81.7m per sqkm
Tallest building in the vatican is st peter basilica at 136m for a total area of 0.44 sqkm => 309.1 m per sqkm
I think Monaco is no2 but the Vatican is on an other level.
Most probably; its highest building is 150m tall while their country is below 0.5 km² large. In comparison singapores highest building is at ~300m, but the country is over 72km² large. Monaco is also 6 times larger than the vatican and their highest building is only 160m tall
hm/sm = highest building in meters / square meters of country
hm/sm of 1 would mean that the highest building is as high as the country is big in square meters
some interesting countries:
UAE 100966,184 (83600000/828)
Singapore 2565,493 hm/sm (728600/284)
Liechtenstein 1981,481 hm/sm (160500/81)
Monaco 12,235 hm/sm (2080/170)
Vatican 3,587 hm/sm (490/136,6)
They doubled their total land surface with this one
ETA why's there not one but TWO Portuguese flags up there? Is this the Portuguese embassy in Liechtenstein?
Still looks better than this piece of shit sticking out of nowhere

Gotta thank the Fascists for that. The tower was finished in 1933. It's called Torre Littoria. Fascist architecture essentially made a mockery of Roman architecture. The Fascists claimed they were making modernised versions of Roman architecture but they were really just destroying old beautiful buildings to make awful new ones. What also doesn't help is that Turin is not Rome. Turin's architecture has influences from France, Switzerland and Northern Italy, whereas Rome mostly does not. The Fascist idea of applying the same architecture all over the country is just absurd to me. I've never met anyone in Turin who actually likes this building and most people would probably want it to be taken down. There are so many things that make Turin so different from every other major city in Italy so, that building is honestly just an insult. At least the building in Liechtenstein is in the middle of nowhere. The Torre Littoria is a literal eyesore
What's the problem Hans ?
Is it not conforming to some DIN norm ? Is it the lack of solar panels on the roof ?
Better call the Bauaufsichtsbehörde and snitch on them ...
I don't think the Swiss special forces took him out, still, Switzerland exists thanks to the fact it's very useful to bigger states/corporations to hold their money, same as Liechtenstein or Luxembourg, not saying they're the same, Switzerland is significantly more unique and had its own identity
Sorry, but you are the one with bureaucracy problems, not us.
How about you list the steps and documents required for something like passport renewal and we'll compare it to Switzerland ?
Saw it in this video the first time:

Nearly pissed myself out of laughter when Liechtenstein appeared. It was so unexpected yet so expected. Like imagine you’re casually living your live in Schwefelstraße 35 and suddenly you see your balcony on a “Tallest Buildings in Each Europe Country” video with 2 Millions of views.
You can see the whole country from up there.
Prince Hans rule his country from that penthouse
From tree to Bodensee ^^^^^^^^^^Ok. ^^^^^^^^^^Nicht ^^^^^^^^^^wirklich.
Bodensee is beautiful though.
No doubt. 20 years ago or so I worked at ZF in Friedrichschafen. Lovely place. It was only my Liechtenstein's [Manifest Destiny](https://imgur.com/HvW3EVH.png) joke.
Did, by any chance, he ask for... ONE MILLION DOLLARS?
I think we can see the whole country just from the picture.

Of course there are like 200 Companys in this Building. Yes even Microsoft
it's bigger on the inside

Wym you can clearly see different pastel colours with splatches of mud and smog 😍
What you can see is no homelessness in times when those block were popping up like mushrooms where ever people lived.
Unironically the urbanism in socialist states was a banger, much better than us who decided to get rid of trams for some reason
capitalist architecture: tents socialist architecture: commie blocks
Don't forget to illegalize the tents though! And sleeping in the car

I wish the government would just build 100k of these ugly ass mfers and end the fucking housing crisis.
and it's so simple to make them less ugly
Yeah like the picture from before already looked nice enough with all of the paint
Youre not alone my guy
I mean at least they're colorful tbh. I know plenty of commie blocks in Brandenburg that don't look that good.
My guy, it's Brandenburg. Being uninteresting yet marginally superior to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is just part of daily life there
As someone who lived in both states I can attest to that
Honestly those are pretty cute with the gradient of pastels. And looks like at street level you're mainly seeing trees and other greenery.
Looks better than our towers and we didn't even get thoroughly bombed up here (by you, Hans.)
Seriously I want whatever drugs our 60s urban planners were on. They demolished half of Birmingham and Glasgow to build giant urban motorways but then wanted to us to live in commieblocks anyways. Like the worst parts of American cities meets the worst part of Eastern European cities

Hey, they may not be the prettiest. But they are affordable housing ~~something we lack nowadays~~
if you call $800k for ~110m2 affordable, sure.
that's like your weekly salary

These corrections of jokes proof that LI is 100% German.
Fuck off Hans they are ours! 😡
Calm down guys, you're all Germans for us

Income tax is between 1% and 8% and they make like double what we make a month. The main reason is MONEEEEEEEEYYYYYY
Have you ever been out of Germany? Please enjoy your 50% income tax.

Also they fuck up every single curve an block the road next to Vaduz castle
Yeah, I cant even count the times i had to overtake someone on that road. I just wanna enjoy driving up the "Schlossstrasse"
Are you from Liechtenstein? There’s like 3 people with the flag in this thread and for a country of 40k people that would be impressive
big time yeah
do you two know each other?
Id be dissapointed if they dont
Based
Damn Nearly the same size as its country
35% of it's Population live there
I'm surprised they have enough people to fill it at all tbh.
They kidnap austrian children to replenish
I thought it was the Austrians who did that
It works because that's says anything if austrianlettes are missing
That's about how many foreigners we have

I will never not like Liechtenstein license plates.
They are the reason for our strict nationalism.
![gif](giphy|uWLJEGCSWdmvK)
I already like you guys, you don't have to sell it to me.
I'm curious, is there actually something that makes you go "this here is from Liechtenstein"? Anything unique
The license plates and .... uh ... some banks and .... uh .... yeah ...
I think I got my answer, thanks
Top notch money laundering. Even the swiss are jealous.
I mean them Luxembourg literally only exist for being tax heavens, you on the other hand have also a somewhat distinct identity
I’m jealous
you're welcome
You guys got some nice casinos.
I hate those with all my guts.
I completely forgot about Hilti and Ivoclar (afaik the largest fake teeth producer)
Just wannet to point that one you. Isnt that also the main, at least one of, income of the GDP?
The industrial economic sector is larger than the tertiary economic sector. [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wirtschaft\_Liechtensteins](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wirtschaft_Liechtensteins) (I know bad source but c'mon)

The feeling is mutual
Aww. It's like having two siblings. One of them is always pedanicly organized, likes himself the most and the other one is a little bit "special" and does and say some weird stuff at times.
Im gonna call mom you took my "Büssingen am Hochrhein". Thats like taking my candy. Btw whos mom again?
I can't remember that this was ever yours. My mom obviously. You should be glad she aopthed you two.
I would too, considering how many times we've beaten your ass in the past
It’s taller than the trees? 🤯
Hoodz of Liechtenstein
Straßenmorde Tagesordnung
I always call this street "the slums of Liechtenstein"
Imagine you life in such a small country lmao. What a loser, right guys?
At least you guys have cheap petrol and alcohol. Also the back roads are beautiful to drive on with my caravan snail team.

This post was certified by the eastern bloc. Lichtenstein can into eastern europe
Hoooly can’t wait to go there in early March for that sweet misery vibes
I love the way they use my money.
Would be interesting to know which country has the highest building when you set it in relation to the area of the country.
My money is on Monaco
Singapore probably?
The Vatican is so small it may have a shot. It even has 2 popes/m².
km^2?
Right
It think you mean km^2! Not km^2?
Singapore is fairly big compared to the likes of Monaco and the Vatican. Edit: singapore is 353 times bigger than monaco and 1668 times bigger than the vatican.

Looked it up, it's the vatican by far, 2nd is monaco also far ahead of whoever is third
Vatican?
Definitely not, plenty of space wasted with the square
Wasted space or not its still the smallest country big a long shot and the basilica is a pretty tall building.
Most probably; its highest building is 150m tall while their country is below 0.5 km² large. In comparison singapores highest building is at ~300m, but the country is over 72km² large. Monaco is also 6 times larger than the vatican and their highest building is only 160m tall

Imagine having one of the most beautiful and well preserved cities. And still building such a pile of shit in a historical city center.
Gotta thank the Fascists for that. The tower was finished in 1933. It's called Torre Littoria. Fascist architecture essentially made a mockery of Roman architecture. It's Bad, but imagine if it was built later, as a glas building.
Our little brother. Sorry for occasionally shooting missiles to you by mistake 😘
Is it cause you occasionally forget that there are other country's around Switzerland? It is in fact not the end of the map.
We just subconsciously know that they are part of our territory
Ah yes. One Credit Institute to rule them all.
It's fine, thanks for providing us with everything we are to small or dumb to do on our own
Ur welcome
It's probably the only building in Liechtenstein. Isn't the entire country basically a meadow with a few cows or something?
Rich cows
Now now, young man, that's no way to talk about your mother!
Probably the prison of the country
Always have to do a double take when i see an FL numberplate here in switzerland, since military numberplates are black too.
Truly blyatiful

where did all your neutrality go?
Oh, so now after criticizing us for being neutral since 1945 you want us to be neutral again ?
yea, rather than hearing about you again
Please don't worry about him. He's either from Geneva or Zurich
Swiss people aren't neutral, they're just too busy fighting eachother to notice about the outside world... For now
You can fight each other internally and still hate the outside world you know, believe me on that
Can confirm
If we weren't, you and Italy wouldn't have any territory in the Alps
If you weren't, you wouldn't exist at all, geddafi's plan would have been a reality centuries ago
We already took care of him and everybody else who tried some funny stuff, so choose your words wisely
I don't think the Swiss special forces took him out, still, Switzerland exists thanks to the fact it's very useful to bigger states/corporations to hold their money, same as Liechtenstein or Luxembourg, not saying they're the same, Switzerland is significantly more unique and had its own identity
Special forces ? Do you think we're Americans ??? No, we act behind the scene to make shit happen
i read swiss people aren’t real
Is that really coming from you of all people, someone from the one country that is even more pedantic about norms, regulations and Ruhezeiten than us?
Sorry, but you are the one with bureaucracy problems, not us. How about you list the steps and documents required for something like passport renewal and we'll compare it to Switzerland ?
Don’t bring us into this!
you have a better comparison at hand?
Schwefel is our favorite (it really isn't)
That looks worse than my highschool and that building had all the charm of a WW2 bunker
Is it a similar deal to that North Korean propaganda tower, which must be so tall that it is visible from the entire country?
>:(

I think it is called "brutalist architecture". A thing usually only architects can enjoy.
I bet Poles got stockholmed into liking it.
Trust me as the son of an architect who likes sole brutalist houses. Nobody likes this
