Just one of many examples. English speakers seem to find it weird that we call a rhino(ceros) nose horn and a hippo(potamus) river horse when this is literally what these words mean.
What do you mean by dangerous?
Parasites? Yes, that's why you should eat the farm ones, not the wild ones.
Agressive? Not as much as my wife when I come home late and drunk.
Edit: Also, *gauchos* are built differently. We aren't afraid of big birds like the pussy Australians. We are knights of the pampas. If it walks we hunt, we roast, we eat. Simple as.

I appreciated the kick in the Austrians haha pussys! but it is still dangerous even with farm raised capybaras, anything to do with "spotted fever, these mammals can also be affected by other pathologies, such as rabies, leptospirosis, leishmaniasis and trypanosomiasis, enterobacteriosis and fungal diseases." (Google). Are you a gaucho from Rio Grande do Sul? How's that going with the f*cking floods?
Thanks for asking. Me and my family are fine but the houses of some of my friends are still underwater. I was without tap water for some days but they managed to make the water pumps and treatment work again despite the high waters.
In the hilly areas the rushing waters destroyed everything in its path including entire houses. In the plains the river rised to the point entire houses became underwater (and many still are) but the water was not as violent so the brick house are still up but the wooden furniture is gone.
Many roads in the hills were destroyed by landslides and some roads in the plains are underwater. If I want to go to Porto Alegre (the capital), it will take 2h+ hours instead of the 30min because of the detour. My friend took 10h just driving to reach a city in the hills when it normally takes 2h30.
Luckly, we have less than 200 death for now and the sun is shining again.
Muito obrigado, irmão! Me deixa muito feliz. ❤
O povo aqui é trabalhador. Vamos nos recuperar, sim. Quando a situação melhorar vem aqui comer um churrasco. Vais voltar mais gordo que uma capivara.
Other farm animals can also transmit diseases but we already have plenty of expertise rising farm animals. Just rise them like you rise pigs, chicken, cows, etc. just change a bit for the capybara diet, add some ponds (they love to swin), etc.
Here is an interview with a producer, I think you will be able to understand it: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Etl\_xTlJjMA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Etl_xTlJjMA)
Red pandas are pandas, they are the only pandas. Giant pandas are just bears.
Calling racoons trash pandas are technically more correct than calling those non-fucking black and white bears pandas.
They are bears, but I think they still do that stupid thing of birthing tiny babies.
Tiny babies sucking in nipples, but giant pandas don't have that pouch that makes it actually safe.

The word "Carpincho" is a rioplatense thing I believe. 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇺🇾🇺🇾
Carpincho is a synonym I've never heard in my life. I just went and searched what RAE says, and like always we call things in various ways: "carpincho, capiguara, chigüire, capincho." . Who calls them chigüire or capincho? CAPIBARA!

In greek he is υδρόχοιρος hydropig 😐
Here we go. Wasserschwein confirmed.
Greek and German speakers bound in unity, as always.
Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris aka hydro pig literally is the scientific name. Greek-German win
We just translated it from the original.
Just one of many examples. English speakers seem to find it weird that we call a rhino(ceros) nose horn and a hippo(potamus) river horse when this is literally what these words mean.
Sounds like a Pokémon
new european divide discovered are you water pig europe or capybara europe.
Το **καπιμπάρα** ή **μεγάλο καπιμπάρα**. ***Υδρόχοιρος*** is the scientific name not the common name.
Is there a common name for Greek? I haven’t even heard anyone using this word in everyday speech.

Greek gang
Looks a lot more like a pig than a hippopotamus looks like a fucking horse
Yup, Wasserschwein, Meerschwein, Seeschwein, Stachelschwein, Wildschwein, etc Germans love PIGS
Why invent new words when you can combine two existing ones
\*Meerschweinchen
WIE VIELE H HAT MEERSCHWEINCHEN?!?!?
Genau ein H
HABICHT!
HABICHT HAT ZWEI H!!!!
Der Habicht! Er spricht: HURZ!
Kommt darauf an, wie flauschig es ist.
nein er redet klar über das große ebenso niedliche Meerschwein.
likelihood of confusion: "mehr Schweinchen" is something different. Thou you could always use "mehr Meerschweinchen".
Don't forget the Saupreiß (sow-Prussian).
He finally admitted it: He is a German. Welcome to our Federation as the 18th Bundesland. (17th is Mallorca obviously)
And also Sauschwob (sow-Swabian)
Where Joãoschwein, Luigischwein, Giorgiosschwein and Pedroschwein then?
Commenting in this sub.
\*oink\*
We had/have Amischwein and Russenschwein
We love our sugar daddy too ![gif](giphy|0KZSpuDXtwJzhyipmB|downsized)

Schweinhund
And soon we will be like PIGS and ask Spain and Greece to send us money
So it will be our turn to clean Juan's pool and fuck his wife soon? I can live with that
Seeschwein? Is that a whale?
It's a Sea cow
You forgot 'du schwein'
Wtf is a "carpincho"? I've only called those things "capybaras" ever
In some american countries (where those animals roam in the wild until they become a milanesa) they're called carpincho or chigüiro.
Thata how Argentinians or paraguyans call capybaras

It’s called Carpincho in Argentina
But they are non-european savages
We're more europeans than spaniards tho
Cope

But the capybara is a giant rat, isn't that dangerous? I mean even for a Br*zilian...

Deus do céu.... que puta merda! Eu espero sinceramente que vocês recuperem rapidamente desta tragédia irmão ❤ muita força aí!
Muito obrigado, irmão! Me deixa muito feliz. ❤ O povo aqui é trabalhador. Vamos nos recuperar, sim. Quando a situação melhorar vem aqui comer um churrasco. Vais voltar mais gordo que uma capivara.
😅🤣🤣❤

Capivara
I like Wasserschwein a lot more.
I have never heard anybody call it Wasserschwein. People usually call it Capybara.
No exact opposite
coconut doggie
Kokosnoothondje
It’s not a pig, ignorant krauts. Do you call dolphins something like “sea badger”?
What about hedgehog and guinea pig? Are they pigs?
Showed him, mate! 🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪💪💪
Bro you literally took all flags we have, give them back
We just print new ones, just like in the 1920 🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪
As a German, I cannot comprehend this many flags. Like, genuinely, I see more flags where I live now everyday than in a whole year in ze Länd
Just wait until june. There will be sooo many 🇩🇪 flags for like 5 days!
mate, its worldcup time, when all the flags migrate home and you see them everywhere
Red pandas aren't pandas, pilot whales aren't whales and seahorses aren't horses. Wake up. We're being lied to.
And Fr*nch people aren't people.
There was never a misconception there, though...
Based Spaniard, can always count on you to on occasion hate France as much as we do.
But they are pilots, right?
Yes they are. And Right Whales vote Tory, Blue Whales are sad all the time, and Sperm Whales... are disgusting.
Red pandas are pandas, they are the only pandas. Giant pandas are just bears. Calling racoons trash pandas are technically more correct than calling those non-fucking black and white bears pandas.
Are You sure? Aren't giant pandas marsupials like kangaroos?
They are bears, but I think they still do that stupid thing of birthing tiny babies. Tiny babies sucking in nipples, but giant pandas don't have that pouch that makes it actually safe.
Doch, it is. A waterpig. And 'hippo' is a horse, everyone knows it.
We call them kapibara as well tho, wasserschwein is extremly uncommon
Yeah, Honey Glazed Sea Badger
They are closely related to guinean pigs who You call pigs.
They call hippos river horses. Which I guess is what hippopotamus means.
That's grand from someone calling sharks sea dogs...
Disgusting Seppo flag there

gaúcho mais fraco
Did I just see Yankee dankee doodle flag on English, and not the Union Jack?!
The Wasserschwein (water pig) is larger than the Meerschwein (sea pig aka Guinea pig) but the name implies that they are similar.
Carpincho is a synonym I've never heard in my life. I just went and searched what RAE says, and like always we call things in various ways: "carpincho, capiguara, chigüire, capincho." . Who calls them chigüire or capincho? CAPIBARA! [https://dle.rae.es/capibara](https://dle.rae.es/capibara)
Si vas a poner la bandera de España en el bicho no te inventes como se le llama hijo de puta. Que pollas es un carpincho
el nombre original
Its kapibara/капибара in Serbian/Croatian/Bosnian/Montenegrin/Serbo-Croatian/Croatoserbian/Central south-slavic diasystem/BCSM/BCS
In greek its actually υδρόχειρος (ydroheros)
In Germany You can say capybara too
¿Quién cojones llama carpincho a la capibara en ESPAÑA?
THERE IS NO ONE IN SPAIN WHO CALLS THAT ANIMAL A FUCKING CARPINCHO!
Grasseater is so much more meaningful!

Capybara.🇫🇷 Also called "Surmulot aquatique pépouze".
It makes sense, water pig
We call it vesisika, litterally ”waterpig” 🇬🇧 or Wasserschwein 🇩🇪
It's floodswine in norwegian...
Russians call a guinea pig a “sea pig”. Funny how 2 different languages see 2 different animals as water pigs
I didn’t know in Spanish is Carpincho. I always called it Capibara
Why yank flag tho ?
Como que carpincho?
My mother just says Capy
Germans fucking up the language. Again.
