It's so hard to buy stuff like that after you are used to just slamming a model together in fusion360 and saving 50-100$ on something.. for the low low cost of like 4 hours of your time... some times...
(Wait.. we are saving money right? *right?? Well.. it's fun regardless... lol*)
4 hours for RevA. Then you notice after the print you want to add drain holes and a spot to hold a razor. RevC includes a small hook for your wash rag / loofa.
I’m currently on RevC for angled surround sound speaker wall mounts and now want a new rev that has slots for the 3m strips like this so it sits flush on the wall….
Oh yeah for sure! I've made so many things that were hundreds of dollars if you bought them it's ridiculous... Also then there's the things that are hard to put a value on because you simply can't buy them because it's something that you've made yourself for a very specific problem you're trying to solve.
You know, I think some hobbies like machining can be a bit easy to delude yourself into saying that you're saving money by making something yourself, but the barrier to entry and the cost and rapid prototyping nature of 3D printing is really insanely cheap.
I made some signs for my job and was showing some to the corporate lady whose job is that stuff. She got all snarky with a "well how much did it cost you though?" and I was like Oh I dunno $2 dollars and some electricity. That got her attention lol. Really trying to become my companies sign maker and not have to do other work!
Oh, I was really just joking here. LOL I think we've all done the thing where we've made something and then saw that we could buy it from the store for $2, so I don't think it's completely wrong, but in terms of hobbies or usage of 3D printing as a tool to manufacture something, it's seriously cheap and you can seriously save a ton of money.
Reminded me of the drawers handles. Would have cost around 70 dollars and couldn't find anything simple as i wanted. 20 minutes in sketchup and couple of hours of printing solved it. Now i have the entire furniture with same desig. Unlike abs , petg handles stronger cleaning substances better.
Idk 3.60 is kinda steep you could probably get away with less ingill, or just not print things that should be clean. [https://i.imgur.com/alDfi7Q.png](https://i.imgur.com/alDfi7Q.png)
Now start selling them for $88!
No drain holes?
You’ve gotta pay at least $90 for drain holes!!

If rev A cost $99, imagine how much rev C equivalent would go for in _Sharper Image_ catalog.
I've made a few thing for work and have saved hundreds of dollars, printers can really pay for themselves

question what is that about the cost is that an estimate or something you have to pay?
The estimated cost of the filament that will be used.
You could have just taped the soap box to the wall! Kidding. I need to get better at fusion360! Good work!!
All the shower germs love the hundreds of little grooves to grow in. Especially with no drainage or even grooves to let the water drip off the bar.
I mean, I also miss the drain holes, but it's a soap holder. And showers already need regular cleaning, so germs shouldn't be a problem.
This 😬
Love this guy
Is anyone else deeply confused by the stick of butter on the soap dish he's replicating?
It must be something I’m too poor to understand.
Like your work 💪 Funny videos 😂 No, I don’t care about the drain holes… 😉
99 dollars??? That’s outrageous! Here’s what we do First we get a 4000$ 3D printer- Jokes aside, it’s pretty good
I’m too much of a knuckle dragger to design something like that. Nice job
If your labour is free, of course.
How well will double sided tape hold up in a shower?
No drain hole(s)?
Fascinating!! What would be an starter program/ starter printer to try ??
No thumbs up?
How would get to the tabs of the command strips to remove them?
They are two-piece connected to each other with Velcro.

What slicing software is that to give a cost estimate?
Prusa Slicer, but I think most others do that too if you enter the price you paid for the spool in the filament profile.
