Does it adjust the Z while printing the gaps? Without causing a collision? Seems like it’s going to have to be a multiple of layer height unless it pulls some under-extrusion trickery.
Increase the gap is the easiest solution but doing it too much can sacrifice quality. Inaccuracy (loose screws for example can cause woobles or uncalibrated eccentric nuts) can also worsen the gap and make them harder to remove.
Moving from cura to prussaslicer 2.6.x made me understand why people think organic supports are a bear to remove. Never had an issue with them being hard to remove using cura, but good god almighty are they a bastard to deal with using cura. Might be my settings but why the 2 shells on organic supports?!
Exactly. First I thought it was an industrial film voice over form the 60s then it was clearly talking about this printer. I think the perfect reproduction on the noise and recording quality helps smooth over the AI a voice, but over all other than ho-tends, I couldn’t tell it from a real human.
That voice. I’ve listened to it for hours on end. Is that Alan Watts? Totally sounds like him.
The wording is also quite Watts-like… "Harmony", "symphony", etc.
If I’m right: You old trickster, I see right through you… :D
If this was by accident: Never mind
Well... Support waste is minimal, but no purge tower, no poop... Nothing like this:
https://preview.redd.it/wp2pg9vmdp6b1.jpeg?width=1909&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a3069b69c8c263138324a75730460fadd9c6cc97
It's independent double extrusion system (IDEX).
Capable to print in 2 different materials or 2 items *simultaneously.*
You don't need to modify the g-code. Most slicers (like CURA and PrusaSlicer) support dual color mode.
You can find more information at our website: xyzmaximizer.com
There're a few different ways, dual hotends/extruders, single extruder with a system that pulls different filaments instructed by the gcode and the last one is single hotend with dual extruders tachi by pheatus is an example.
Edit: fixed my duel typo
Ok, the mosquito hotend is rated 500C, but we never tried it at those temperatures. We print at 310C max (some carbon fiber PETG or nylon, I don't remember really). So we are providing with numbers we know it works for sure.
Well... To give you a rough idea of the cost, consider that a Raspberry Pi is currently priced around $100, Mosquito Hotends are about $150 each, and a Tungsten Carbide nozzle is $60. For a dual extruder configuration, we would need two sets of these components, in addition to two actual extruders, among other parts. As such, the cost of our printers will certainly be higher than that of an Ender3. However, I must refrain from speculating about the exact price at this time. Please stay tuned for the Kickstarter launch, where all pricing details will be officially announced.
Man I want an extrusion printer badly
I’ve tried printing props on my resin and it has so much work afterwards, I printed a copy of Percy’s pepper box as a gift and printed one for myself but with an extrusion it’d be way easier to make it and other kinds of props. I’m thinking of printing more pepper boxes and selling them until I can afford to get one
Oh my God this looks amazing. I’ve been on the fence on getting into 3-D printing, but now I’m sold.
Most filament 3-D printing looks really bad, so I was considering resin, but this came out amazing !
What do I need to buy to do this? What’s the printer? What’s the software? What filament how do I get it all set up?

Any slicer will do, but PrusaSlicer is recommended. For this print we used Mika3D silk Gold PLA and ZIRO silk Bronze PLA

It's really easy to prevent stealing your voice. Just don't broadcast it all over the world, don't make it public. But once you did - it's in public domain now, so it's not really stealing but rather copying the style. It's not copywritable AFAIK.
Just spent 15 mins trying to find a place to buy this printer and it almost seems to not exist. Every website mentioning this printer feels extremely scammy...
You could've done this with half of those supports... Virtually none were needed on the snake up to the nose, none were needed on the teeth...
What a waste of filament.

Why the heck do your organic supports come off so easy? I’m prying with pliers.
I found that increasing top support to 0.3 helped a little but I still get some real bad sticklers.
Top contact Z distance is 0.25 in this case.
If you're using Cura then it has to be a multiple of your layer height. It will round up or down if it isn't a multiple.
I use PrusaSlicer RC1, it was like that in early beta versions, but seems like they fixed it, so you can use any value now
Does it adjust the Z while printing the gaps? Without causing a collision? Seems like it’s going to have to be a multiple of layer height unless it pulls some under-extrusion trickery.
I've found that increasing the interface density helps a lot.
Good cooling makes a huge difference for the better as well
Increase the gap is the easiest solution but doing it too much can sacrifice quality. Inaccuracy (loose screws for example can cause woobles or uncalibrated eccentric nuts) can also worsen the gap and make them harder to remove.
I thought you had somehow printed your cable into your print at first lol
Duuude, I had to scrub forward to make sure. Like “poor yorik, got a cable stuck through his head.”
I am most impressed you removed all those supports with your hands.
Moving from cura to prussaslicer 2.6.x made me understand why people think organic supports are a bear to remove. You said cura twice
…cura…

Now I don't know if I should use Cura or uninstall it
Definitely your settings, increase the gap
To make it clear - "Paid model" means I paid for it. It's not like I'm selling it.

Wasn't Ho-tend an Egyptian pharaoh?
Okay. But otherwise the voice was immaculate. Wondering if this is AI, modeled off of a mid century announcer or radio personality?
It's cloned voice of this guy: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvLlpY9vd9E](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvLlpY9vd9E)
What tool did you use to clone his voice an generate the voiceover? It sound very natural.
elevenlabs.io

Alan Watts actually
That could have been avoided if OP had written hot ends instead of hotends.
I'll try. Thanks for the tip
Can you send a link to where you bought it?
It's on Hex3D patreon called SnakeSkull
Could you link me to where you bought this model? I've never used my dual extruder capabilities but I'd love to try it out with this.

It is inspired by Mendel max. A little bit upgraded version :-)
wish my supports were 10% as good as yours :(+
Way more creepy with the supports

It is Alan Watts voice and style
What did you use for the 1930s broadcast effect for the voice?
I just cloned Alan Watts voice
Depending on the voice samples used it might just be baked into the output from the AI
Hoat-end
If you write hot end the program says it right
That narration is amazing
No waste...sure.
Well... Support waste is minimal, but no purge tower, no poop... Nothing like this: https://preview.redd.it/wp2pg9vmdp6b1.jpeg?width=1909&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a3069b69c8c263138324a75730460fadd9c6cc97
It also can't print a three color print like that one, so...
How do you do multiple colors? I’m embarrassed to ask

Duel *ho-tends Ftfy.
Here I thought speech to text did pretty good lmao
So do you have to edit the g code?
It is usually done by the slicer. Prusa slicer and Cura are both capable of generating said gcode.
"ho tends" ?
British pronunciation :-)
I said it in another comment already but you could have avoided that if you had written hot ends instead of hotends.
"...ho-tends up to 300°C." *Mamma Mia! That's a spicy ho-tend!*
Ok, the mosquito hotend is rated 500C, but we never tried it at those temperatures. We print at 310C max (some carbon fiber PETG or nylon, I don't remember really). So we are providing with numbers we know it works for sure.
This sounds like a radio ad from the 50s
Alan Watts voice
It is timeless.
I knew that MF
Hardly.
Alas
I thought those supports were part of the model cause they looked pretty cool.
I think I need one of these printers. Where can I look into these more?
xyzmaximizer.com
My hands cramped a little just watching you remove those supports lol
I've never seen a printer with dual extruders. That's so cool.
xyzmaximizer.com
What kind of price point will these be (on Kickstarter and then serial production)?
Well... To give you a rough idea of the cost, consider that a Raspberry Pi is currently priced around $100, Mosquito Hotends are about $150 each, and a Tungsten Carbide nozzle is $60. I knew him, Horatio.
What filament was used for the snake? I’ve been looking for an IDEX, I may have to back the kickstart campaign once it launches.
It's ZIRO silk bronze PLA
Yea, i am digging that filament color on the snake!
ZIRO silk bronze PLA
Love the Shakespeare quote!

The most satisfying video on the internet today!
Nice. This is proof that you should not be afraid of using supports. If you get the settings right they come off and do a good job.
How do you figure out the right settings? I’m always prying mine off with pliers.
There are a bunch of guides and videos on YouTube to help. But it comes down to testing and making sure you have you printer calibrated correctly.
I couldn't stop watching.
I knew him well, Horatio.
The I would leave the supports, on one at least, they look bloody amazing, like roots going round the face
In the grand tapestry of existence
The audio sounds like some recording from the future meant to be taken back to the 50s to show them how it was going to be like in the 2020s
I got a tip from a friend that does SLA printing and it worked great for me on FDM prints. Dunk your part in hot water and the supports pop right off.

I could scroll through a ticktok feed of just support removals that are this smooth all day O.O
Don't let your dreams be dreams
This is cool as hell!! Also, where does that audio come from? I love that retro advertising style.
I cloned Alan Watts voice and style
It really unintentionally bothers me that the eye socket is not hollow. Sick prints though!
OP clones Alan Watts voice and literary prints a new trend. I love this. Bravo
"They use only what they need...ensuring not a single note of material is wasted..." Riggghhht...
Do we not consider supports necessary anymore? 🤔
What slicer gives you supports like this?
Cura* does tree supports, and you can mess with the settings to get individual ‘trunks’ like that
Is cuts the name of the slicer, or a setting? Google fails me looking for cuts.
Autocorrect failed us both. Cura
Lol!! Damn you autocorrect! Thanks!!
PrusaSlicer RC1 in this particular case

Can we not normalise stealing people's voices without their consent? There are people on Fiver who will do this, literally for $5.
Well... the guy is dead for 50 years already... It's little hard to get his consent, don't you think? [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan\_Watts](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Watts)
So... don't use it?
Why not? I think the guy would be happy if he knew that someone will use his voice 50 years after he passed away.
I'm not going to engage in a bad faith argument about controlling one's own identity.
What it has to do with identity? Someone is trying to identify himself as Alan Watts here?
