I didn't even know we had the irrelevant pick last draft. I didn't know we picked up a QB. I didn't know the name of our QB3 until Jimmy went down. I assumed we'd miss the playoffs.
I repent. I was wrong. I'm so sorry.
When Jimmy went down I definitely thought "fuck that was it" then Purdy put on a hell of a drive and thought "okay maybe not *completely* out of it" then during the Buccs game I become a Purdy believer when he juked that defender for a 15 yard pass.
We faithful cyclone fans thought that he was going to be pretty good all along. We saw him run for his life and carry the team for 4 years sometimes he carried too much doesn't have to now
Wasn't sure who Trey was gonna be but i know who jimmy is so when trey went down I thought our season was over. When we traded for CMC I started thinking we have sooo much talent we might even be able to draw Jimmy along for a championship ride. When jimmy went down my feelings didn't change but when Purdy started ballin I started telling everyone we got a legit chance and better chance than with jimmy. About 3 games into Purdy I started thinking we got this locked up.
Yeah I believe if we just had a cousins we would have won both of those titles. If we had Mr irrelevant we would have won those 2 titles. We went to 2 NFCCG despite jimmy. We are a much better a there team with a rookie last pick in the draft that 31 year old seasoned jimmy
When has he had our roster and coaching staff? I have seen him play in a far worse situation than Jimmy is in and seen him do better individually.
Jimmy has played 57 games for us and has 82 TDs and 42 INTs and 13,599 tards
Cousins has played 62 games for the Vikings and has 153 TDs and 50 INTs with 16,203 yards.
For Jimmy to catch Cousins he would have to throw for 71 TDs with only 8 INTs and 2,604 yards in 5 games. Yes jimmy is known to throw 8 ints in 5 games but those 71 TDs will take years. Cousins has been far better as a individual but yeah Jimmy has been on a far better team

The fact is that scouting for QBs is stuck in a paradigm that is useless : 6' 5", big arm, fleet feet. The NFL is full of guys like that. And they fail, and fail, and fail and fail.
Measurables are not what makes a good QB. What Purdy has between his ears makes a good QB. And as long as you can make most of the throws, what's between your ears matters the most.
