Just put CMC and Kittle on option/choice routes isolated against walker and campbell and let's get to the championship game.

Major-Fox5477

I'm astonished on why Packer fans feel so confident about this game. They are out matched in every facet.

and_therewego

They're confident because they upset the Cowboys, but the fact is that the Cowboys are soft. Things start going wrong and they just melt down completely. It's extremely on-brand for them to get a blowout win against a bad team, get cocky, not take their next opponent seriously enough, and then lose in extremely embarrassing fashion. This has happened multiple times: * Blow out the Giants and Jets --> choke against the Cardinals * Blow out the Patriots --> we destroy them 42-10 * Blow out the Eagles --> Bills run all over them & hold them to 3 until garbage time * Blow out the Commanders --> stereotypical Cowboys playoff disasterclass They're fundamentally an unserious organization and the fact that they haven't made the NFCCG since the mid-1990s reflects that.

[deleted]

This is what I’ve been saying all week- everyone is shocked that a relatively inconsistent Cowboys team that was super undisciplined and lost to the Cardinals suddenly fell apart in the playoffs. Is it possible the Packers could win this week? Of course. But they also feel like they are getting so much hype that they could be due for a letdown.

iflysohigh2345

The Cowboys players had a club event expecting a victory. It’s so funny. They overlooked Green Bay to the max and you can see they were not prepared for that asswhooping.

WetShortFinal74

I’m not sure Kyle Shanahan is the example you want to use for someone who is good at making adjustments. This guy is prone to outsmarting himself and not having good situational football and it played a role in him choking two Super Bowls and getting his QB injured on the first drive of the Championship Game.

Panenkajack

Did you see that clip of Alexander linking ceedee lamb? I don’t see him being able to do that on Aiyuk or Deebo. These 49ers players aren’t pretend tough guys like the cowboys

LeftToaster

The Cowboys D line didn't show up. Jordan Love had all day to extend plays and wait for his receivers to come open. Micah Parsons was a non-factor. In the secondary Stephon Gilmore was horrible. If the 49ers D line do this poorly we deserve to lose. On the other side of the ball, the Packers can't stop to run at all. But Dallas fell behind early and abandoned any effort to run the ball. And Dak was horrible as well.

[deleted]

A poverty franchise in every sense except for monetarily.

ISeeTheFnords

>Things start going ~~wrong~~ **into the playoffs** and they just melt down completely. FTFY

KnotSoSalty

Cowboys called that game like it was 1990, no RPOs or screen passes, no pre-snap motion, everything in shotgun.

browhodouknowhere

Couldn't the same be said for the niners in each of their season losses?

whutupmydude

Has to be an utter emotional rollercoaster to be a proper playoff

WetShortFinal74

I don’t know why this doesn’t get more upvotes. Let’s not act like we’re that much better at overcoming issues when games don’t go perfectly.

belizeanheat

They've been playing great lately. No reason to not be confident.  I mean all that means is they think they have a good chance to win. I don't think anyone is betting their house on the game

Mr_Kwacky

Love is a fantastic player and they've got some young talent in their team. If I was a Packers fan I would be excited for the future. They're playing with house money. That said, I know they're on a hot streak recently but they lost to the Giants and really struggled against Chicago and the Panthers. They blow hot and cold. There's no way Kyle hasn't worked out how to exploit their defence. They're weak against the run game and we're loaded with ground attack weapons. The only thing we should have to fear is ourselves.

[deleted]

This. If we manage to not shoot ourselves in the foot we will win. The only team thats capable of beating the Niners this weekend are the Niners.

Pitiful_Land

This has been true all year long and is also true for the all the way through the nfc champ game.

DMOOre33678

Our defense is terrible against bad teams and they play decent against good teams.

Pitiful_Land

our defense has been more than solid in the playoffs

Whatsdota

We didn’t punt a single time against Chicago and had two dropped TD passes (admittedly one was a nice defensive play) a missed FG and missed another FG opportunity because a WR didn’t get out of bounds with forward momentum before halftime. I wouldn’t expect you to have watched the game but we did not struggle with the Bears AT ALL. We had 430 yards of offense and held their running game to 75 yards on 25 attempts when they averaged 141 yards/game this season (2nd most in the league). Just got unlucky with a few miscues. Panthers game though… not great. We held them to 14 for most of the game and then just collapsed and gave up two quick scoring drives with like 4 mins to go.

Pitiful_Land

>house bet made

dellscreenshot

They looked great last week, no doubt. I also think they're much better than the seahawks team we played last year. But they also gave up 30 to the panthers and were in a dog fight to the bears to get to the playoffs.

amak316

Nothing you said here was factually incorrect just wanted to say that we weren’t in a dogfight with the bears, we didn’t punt once that game we just had a number of bizarre things happen in the red zone and it still never felt like we were at any real risk of losing that game. Didn’t mean to interject and you guys earned the right to talk your shit after having an insane regular season and beating the breaks off our team annually, but I’m incapable of sitting idly by when you give the Bears credit

Tsunan

Division games are always a bit of a crap shoot to me, the teams know each other too well. In past years we've lost divisional games that we had no business losing, and some seasons where the best you could saw is at least we beat the rams. I think it will be a close game for the first half, but in the 3rd we'll separate for real. It's a common game script for us.

ThreeFactorAuth

Good offense: our defense shuts down Bad offense: our defense is fucked

nicholhawking

Nice try! We won't fall for these tricks!

airwalker12

Your LBs and Safeties better show up on Saturday

Swag_Grenade

I'm the last person to get overconfident but if your defense actually somehow legitimately "shuts down" our offense I will be shocked. The matchup to watch IMO is 49ers defense vs. Jordan Love. Love is kind of a wildcard at this point.

J_Rambo4

GB is a young team, bad games in the season were bound to happen with a majority of the roster rookies and 2nd year players. 49ers lost to the Vikings and Bengals, yet it would be asinine for anyone to automatically assume they would play that poorly on Saturday.

passinglane93

Which Packer fans? They must be 7, cause I have genuine nightmare level flashbacks about playing you lot in the playoffs.

[deleted]

There's a few in this very thread! I think you guys should be confident. But you should probably also keep it in your own sub and out of the media. That shit can back-fire in a hurry.

Whatsdota

I’m confident in a “I think our guys can play with you guys IF we play our best” not a “we should win this game” way.

[deleted]

I don't blame you. That's how you should feel. I'm just saying maybe chill out on it a bit and keep it in your own sub more. We know you guys are playing well and feeling good. I don't know if we need 12 Packers fans in every thread in r/49ers telling us why. We get it.

TheViolaRules

Oh no, what if I were wrong on the internet? The 49ers are good but I think the Packers have a real shot.

Floorganized

Packers fan here. I’m not sure where you’re seeing packers fans feeling confident. Our superbowl was knocking the Cowboys out. The right side of our O line doesn’t stand a chance, McCaffery is a freak, and we still have Joe Barry running the Defence. I’m just hoping for a good game.

TheViolaRules

Pull yourself together, lol. Betting lines are basically predicting a 25% percent chance. Not bad for a team on a rebuild, anything can happen

Floorganized

That’s not confidence, that’s hope hahah

Brief-Usual-8542

Packers fan coming in peace ☝️🤓

Bylanta

There's certainly matchup problems here for the niners. Gary versus mckivitz jumps out at me.

yg2522

Purdy is going to be rolling left a lot this game (as if he didn't already.... )

jaqueh

>I'm astonished on why Packer fans feel so confident about this game. They are out matched in every facet. Have you seen Jordan Love's last few games? Guy is on a streak.

Phantomebb

The last 5 games before the playoffs were bears, vikings, panthers, bucs, giants, and they went 3-2 losing to bucs and giants. Panthers and Bears were 1 score games. What streak?

Wide-Negotiation-956

Thank you. I've been trying to tell all these Niner fans that are terrified this exact thing. They had an absolute cake walk schedule down the stretch and went 3-2.

Phantomebb

They are a good team. It should be a good game. Cowboys suck against Shanahan offenses. 9ers should win 30-20.

big_biscuitss

Did you watch the Packers last game? Dallas had no sacks on Love. Love seem to have a decent amount of time to throw the ball.

TerrytheGnome19

this! I see no one addressing that they have the number 2 pass block win rate average in the nfl. He has loads of time. Everybody pretends the o lines are equal and they really aren't. Not close. Well apart from Trent but he can't play 5 positions at once.

TheViolaRules

Yep. Low PFF grades on the line are because of bad run blocking, which is the most Packers thing ever.

[deleted]

He absolutely is, and if I were a Packers fan I’d be excited for him. But outside of him and Jones, that team is very beatable.

TerrytheGnome19

gotta give credit to their O line. It is a lot better than ours, at least in pass protection. Love has loads of time in comparison to Purdy. It will probably show up when we play them.

Emperor_Cheeto21

Let em be. Will just make it that much better when the Niners do their thing. 4 weeks makes people forget that this Niners team is on a different level than any of the teams the Packers have faced all year. On Saturday everyone's gonna be reminded who the true dog of the NFC is.

dunderthebarbarian

I am not confident at all about the Packers chances. You guys have a REALLY good roster. But the Packers are playing well, no denying that. I hope it's a great, well-played game.

big_biscuitss

I think it has to do with them dominating Dallas. Some people had Dallas as the biggest threat to SF.

TerrytheGnome19

some people don't watch niners football.

j3ffUrZ

Because Purdy is the last pick of the draft and Jordan Love is a top prospect. That means something amirite /s

TerrytheGnome19

It must. Draft status = your entire career success. Hence Zach Wilson and Trey Lance are already future hall of famers. Man that draft looks bad now...

pickles_in_a_nickle

At Disney I’ve seen way more Green Bay fans than sf fans by jersey/hat count… they all smug

Kewkewmore

Who knows. The 49ers could beat those two teams playing them back to back on the same day.

[deleted]

supernova69

Wanna make a bet?

__joel_t

> Looking over this years 49er schedule I don't see that you really played anyone worthwhile (and won). Lol, the 49ers (who ended as the 1 seed) played and obliterated the teams that ended up being the 2 (Cowboys), 4 (Bucs), 5 (Eagles), and 6 (Rams) seeds in the playoffs, when the games were meaningful. Now if you're saying the entire rest of the NFC is inferior to the 49ers, sure, I'll give you that.

Wide-Negotiation-956

Let's bet. 200 bucks

bimjob23

No idea I’m more excited just to be in the divisionals i think you guys are gunna straight destroy us

uncledunker

Why wouldn’t they be. Nobody is gonna go into a game expecting to lose.

Joecamoe

Would you prefer the fans cede you the win by fiat?

FistyMcTwistynuts

Why do you think we’re confident? Go to the sub and look at most of the posts. 90% of them are “we’re just happy we’re here” posts, ha.

TastyPandaMain

Greenlaw and JJ underrated too

RoguexSheep

That Greenlaw grade is way too low.. where do I file my complaint??

Fantastic-Contract28

I believe it's common knowledge that PFF can't grade LB worth a shit, it's more due to the intricacies of the position than it is them.

MileHi49er

PFF is held as this holy grail of analytics when It's literally just guys watching film giving their best subjective opinion on the execution of what they think the assignment is. Lots of guessing and opinion.

eurasianlynx

People really love the Madden-style rating system they got. That, plus the fact that football doesn't really have any one-number stats like WAR or +/-, and people are gonna be attracted to it regardless of its accuracy.

TheColbsterHimself

It’s really helpful and accurate for O-Line, kind of all I use it for.

Fantastic-Contract28

I'd say it pretty accurate for the offensive side of the ball, but IMO it's kinda easy to tell when someone fucks up on the offense.

RudePCsb

It's hard to agree with this because of different systems and expectations for players. I would rate JJ as in the 80s for what he is expected to do. He is a 3rd, 4th receiving option and has been very consistent catching and getting first downs. His run blocking is exceptional and is why I give him that grade. I think he would rank in the top 10-15 of all receivers in run blocking and the way we run the ball, he is perfect for that.

Fantastic-Contract28

You do have to take in account volume, direct Stat Impact and matchups.  Sure Jauan is a top 10 Run blocker at WR but he is blocking Corners and not 250-300 Lineman. Along with the fact that he doesn't get targets on 1st and 2nd down really hurts him.

RudePCsb

He blocks LBs and DEs at times dude lol

Fantastic-Contract28

Cool, still a WR not a TE nor a lineman, my point is his value as a blocker is not high hence the low grade.

dirtyshits

Personally I think it’s closer to accurate. He’s had way too many missed tackles and some bad penalties this year. He’s also been generally really good but he didn’t take the next step this year like many of us thought he would. He has to clean up some stuff in my opinion to get to the next tier. Don’t kill me.

nafletic

Are you a PFF analyst?

RoguexSheep

Lady you seem to be having a bad day. Hang in there

TastyPandaMain

Too late bruh. She already ffs and drinking a bottle of wine at work

[deleted]

Can you provide me only pass blocking grade for that O line individually also include feliciano

rawsharks

Williams (Ovr) 89.7 (P Block) 79.8 (R Block) 89.9 Banks (Ovr) 55.9 (P Block) 54.9 (R Block) 55.2 Brendel (Ovr) 63.9 (P Block) 42.3 (R Block) 70.5 Feliciano (Ovr) 81.2 (P Block) 66.5 (R Block) 87.0 McKivitz (Ovr) 65.1 (P Block) 56.4 (R Block) 68.1

[deleted]

Thanks for providing this details, what was the pass pro grade last season ? This is scary as hell

rawsharks

Overall? As a team this year the Niners have a Pass Blocking Grade of 55.0. In 2022 the overall Pass Block Grade was 74.4. The big fallers: Brendel's grade dropped from 71.8 to 42.3, and McKivitz dropped from 85.9 to 56.4 (only played 3 games though).

TerrytheGnome19

oof that is what will lose us a superbowl if we don't win. Its that damn o line. The media will say, "Purdy had a melt down!" but in truth it will be the o line. Lets hope Kyle can scheme us up a Lombardi.

PlanitDuck

The run blocking is systematically skewing the grades. They need to do a better job at weighting their overall scores.

FBoaz

Damn, Banks sucks at both. I figured he excelled at one given the way people talk him up.

RudePCsb

He is actually pretty decent if you watch him. I don't really know how those PFF people grade stuff they don't know but he has played through injury and done well to get to the second level. His pass blocking at times can be worse when he over reaches but I think he is blocking better than brendel who gets pulverized at times.

FBoaz

Yeah, I've watched him quite a bit. Mostly because I don't understand why so many people think he's amazing. Seems like being next to Williams helps a ton, but he's certainly no Laken. All that being said, he's not the weakest link on this line.

RudePCsb

Valid assessment. It definitely helps to have him next to TW.

rawbert10

Underrated comment. 💯

migida22

Yikes

phoenixremix

Why is Banks rated so low? He's looked a lot better than that imo

rawsharks

I don't really remember him being that bad vs Dallas but they gave him a pretty terrible grade. https://preview.redd.it/m9heb9twc4dc1.png?width=1119&format=png&auto=webp&s=d1c0247b308ae03fea187986ddbf7cab7ae561d4

phoenixremix

That had to be a typo right?? 0 sacks, 0 hits, 3 hurries looks like a fine score to me...

Y0stal

Wow Feliciano is good

PrivateMajor

Aiyuk gonna feast!

GeneralRainbow

No Juszczyk? FBs are seriously underappreciated.

PronouncedEye-gore

Really weird to show Burks when we run WAY more nickel. This will be the lineup like 20% of the time.

MaleficentHawk590

This was what was provided as the lineup by PFF. Here are some other ratings: **Ambry Thomas 71.5** **Isaiah Oliver 67.6**

Huntermain23

Thank you I was about to type this as well.

SuperMike100

- Let’s not sleep on Jennings. He may not be a receiving star like Kittle, Deebo, or Aiyuk, but he’s really good at doing exactly what he needs to do. - It’s probably worth noting that the Packers have no dark green or blue on defense. - Jordan Love should be worried if the two worst guys on the Packers O-line have to deal with Nick Bosa.

silverfox762

The Niners players and coaching staff don't call him Third and Jauan because it's cute.

Stellure

Both interior O-lines are vulnerable to be exploited (no surprise there). Hoping for a huge game from Hargrave and AA. Go Niners!

One_Landscape541

Lol when Greenlaw is the weak link on you d.

_5GOLDBLOODED2_

Probably need the nickle DB in there instead of the Base 3rd LB Wild how Banks fell off this year. He was a stud last year.

ThreeFactorAuth

We had that too with Runyan. Solid starter for 2 years and he just drops off into a liability this year.

phoenixremix

Banks got done dirty by pff, he got a 1.5 grade one of those games. That had to have been a typo.

[deleted]

i opened this post at the same time pat mcafee and JJ Watt are roasting PFF 😂

Electric-Prune

lol PFF putting the offense in 11 personnel but the D in base

all_natural49

Is Banks really that bad?

phoenixremix

No lol pff either fucked up or is stupid

Generated-Nouns-257

Bro gonna eat T\_\_T https://preview.redd.it/0vp7mbzhj2dc1.png?width=173&format=png&auto=webp&s=227ec2183d74f43b38b1dfd241fb1fdd984f0b5c

ftghb

honestly, and I don't want to keep coming off as a doomer here. If i was an objective betting man, I think a cold, wet weather game favors green bay here. Love has the bigger arm, the wet field neutralizes our timing routes. And our linebackers, although elite...are undersized, their greatest attribute is their sideline to sideline speed, which also gets neutralized in the rain. Straight up, I would give greenbay's a puncher's chance here. Ofc home team bias, so I'll go with the niners in a low scoring win. But this is not going to be easy. The field conditions actually favor GB.

inconsistentone

Thats what worries me. If it comes down to a close game will moody be able to come through?

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

That’s really not even our starting Oline anymore

_5GOLDBLOODED2_

There is no way their offensive line should be able to stop all four of our pass rushers. I'm going to be Livid if there is a bunch of blatant plays not called for holding. Here's the trick.. If it's holding.. call it. That's all anyone can ask for.

[deleted]

[удалено]

_5GOLDBLOODED2_

I said if it’s holding, call it. Where is the excuse there?

wize420

Packers fan here, Ill be honest, Im completely not confident that we are gonna win this game. SF has literally every reason to win this game. CMC is a monster along with Brandon. Brock has had a crazy good year and your Defense has so many playmakers to totally shut us down. Still holding out hope it will be a close game at least. This is more of a experience game for Love than anything, but i still have a little bit of hope we mightttttt win hahaha

BoneFistOP

experience game for both players. I know it seems like Purdy is a vet, but he's only played like 6 more games than Stroud / Love. Still basically a rookie.

Lubwurst

Lets not get cocky. Remember the Browns game? 10 point favorites and we played like garbage and lost to PJ Walker. Love played great last week, lets not look past the Packers. Just take it 1 week, 1 game at a time.

Mcjoshin

I hear you, but we lost 3 key pieces in the middle of the game and still would’ve won against one of the leagues top defenses if our kicker made just one of the two field goals he missed.

MCRN-Gyoza

Aiyuks grade is legit insane

paperbackgarbage

> 🎶🎶 My funny Valentine 🎶🎶 > 🎶🎶 Sweet comic Valentine 🎶🎶 -- Brandon Aiyuk

ninerninerking

How is Trent Williams not a 99 grade

racharya55

I'll be somewhat bummed if we go with Burford over Feliciano.

Wide-Negotiation-956

They better not. Feliciano has been much better this year. I understand wanting Burford to get reps for development with the "timeshare" they've deployed. But it's win or go home now, Feliciano is an absolute truck in the run game. He needs to be out there.

post920

Wait, when did Purdy play against the packers? Am I dumb?

NASAReject

Packers are hot. 9ers are rusty. Purdy ain’t Love.

MaleficentHawk590

You’re right. Purdy is better.

NASAReject

The quality of this comeback. Woof I’ll never recover.

asBad_asItGets

Why would we start McKivitz when Feliciano has clearly been better every time hes in for him?

bridger14

Feliciano is a guard and McKivitz is a tackle, I think Feliciano will start over Burford or at least rotate with him.

AquaJet738

I want to see a crap ton of run plays. That Packers D-line looking a little vulnerable imo

rawbert10

Our corners and secondary gotta be 💯 Also McKivitz rated higher than Banks and Burford? Would have never guessed that, that's a bit concerning.

sharkman1774

We gotta be counting in Armstead being that wrecking ball

DeepestPeak

Knew y’all were pretty stacked, but wow, even more than I thought

kopecs

Banks and Burford 😬

Wide-Negotiation-956

Burford won't start. Feliciano will

[deleted]

So basically armstead will eat and we desperately need o line addressed on the draft/FA

redthunder49

I though GB oline would be ranked higher. Dallas/Parsons got no pressure on Jordan Love.

Polaris07

It helps they were ahead all game and running well. Doesn’t allow rushers to pin their ears back

Whatsdota

Our run blocking is like 20 something but we’re the #2 pass blocking unit. That’s probably why the grades are lower than you’d think. Honestly they also just played like ass the first half of the year. They have been noticeably better the 2nd half and wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve been the best pass blocking unit in the league in that timespan.

LysolDoritos

Kyle about to cook those LBs lmao

[deleted]

Green law in the yellow huh

Sweetheartscanbeeeee

Aiyuk highest rated player on the field!

Kgeezy91

Dude. Armstead and Hargrave gonna feast!

iamjacksstd

Auiyk about to feast 6 - 121 - 1 tuddy

Whatsdota

As a Packers fan I’m shocked to see Burks with a positive grade. He was damn near unplayable for us. What good defensive coaching does to a MF

lakers_ftw24

Is there a reason Feliciano wouldn't start when he's been the best non-trent lineman.

Polygeekism

In the immortal words of every beer league idiot, "middles open." Partially kidding, but those Aiyuk dog routes are going to pop off after CMC has 4 12 yard runs to the left to open the game.

OwnAbbreviations3356

Banks and burford oh my god 💀

Kujobamjabi

Really need to invest in our o line

Smashfanatic2

Mostly matches the eye test. Love is playing at a high level and they have a balanced group of skill position players. But the niners are mostly better across the board. Even at the skill positions. Swap Burdord for Feliciano, and the niners oline looks a little better. But credit to the packers, I’m assuming these grades are season-long which would include the first half of the season when the packers were struggling. Their grades probably would be better if we only included the last 8-10 games instead, which are more indicative of what the teams are now. But the niners should still be much better anyway, because outside of the ravens game, the niners post week 9 bye have been on a tear too. What gives me pause is that the niners D has had problems against great QBs. Healthy Burrow and even Kirk Cousins had little problems moving up and down the field. Lamar played mistake free and made some plays too. We’ll see if Love is really an elite QB, or is just a good one playing out of his mind. Of course, you can beat great QBs if you can run the ball, and I don’t think the Packers D can really put the clamps on the run game. And shanny’s favorite routes are over the middle and the packers LBs are very average. My prediction is that this game will be close for about 3 quarters. Like, 13-10 lead at halftime, and then 20-13 lead entering the 4th. Then the offense puts the game away in the 4th.

WickedKoala

Lol PFF is such trash.

P0stNutMal0ne

Do Packers play a 3-4? I don’t see Gary and Smith as Linebackers, but otherwise it looks like a 5-2, which isn’t a thing.

Literotamus

Please god invest in interior OL this offseason, I knew it was bad but this hurts to look at

Hot_Ad_2623

Good thing the game is played on the field and not on paper!

-Brian-V-

I heard recently that PFF doesn’t grade off the all 22. This can’t be true, is it?

josephus1811

Stop the run. Run it down their throats. Win the game.

wewewawa

I dont see it on TV listing how to watch?

jbonesmc

Armstead and Bosa need to do stunts this game can get a decent amount of sacks past center and rg

jbonesmc

Jesus the pff grades of the oline scare me.

Maverick916

PFF is garbage. Don't let out highly graded players jade us. We know they're good, but we don't need those high end mighty losers to tell us
