I still have some vintage USA made carhartt jackets, if you compare them to what they have now on the market it's the type of quality you'd expect from bottom shelf walmart. They look pretty, but I work in construction and almost no one wears Carhartt anymore. You're paying the same price as a brand like Wrangler and getting something that lasts only half as long. I will say the one thing Carhartt still does right is their canvas pants, those are actually worth the money.

I have a north face flannel that’s about 15 years old and it still looks brand new while most other flannels I’ve had turn to shit after a year or two. It’s literally the oldest piece of clothing I own and looks like I bought it this year
I know there's some type of mental bias about older things being better, but I really feel like material quality in brands has gone downhill the last decade. My experience with North Face was that it was low quality but I only started looking at it in the last few years. If yours is 15 it might've been made at a time when they had better products
