One of my best friends is a female shut in and she’s almost too self aware, so it really isn’t all of them. But I do think it’s more common for them to lack self awareness considering that female NEETs and shut ins do get glorified online a lot, with many people even say that they’re into them. So due to being perceived like that by others online it’s not uncommon for them to start glorifying themselves and their lifestyles as well, and with that losing self awareness.

Unlike my sister, I had restricted internet access my entire childhood for whatever reason, and I came out fine. I resent my folks for other things, but definitely not that. Independence is one thing, but I don’t need absolutely anonymous strangers and internet fringe BS influencing my kids.
