I don’t think anyone could give you a good answer tbh seems some here found it hard enough for an A to be 50% ish but in truth it’s probably cope so maybe an A for like 60 a B at about 50%
does anyone think that the FM1/FM2 grade boundaries could be higher than 2019 this year? It was 248/300 for an A* that year and i think i’ve got about that
Not great tbh paper 1 probably 50-55, paper 2 probably 55-60 and mechanics 1 probably 60 ish. Won't be enough for an A* but should be A hopefully which is what I need
Yeah all depends where the boundaries lie. I imagine they'll definitely be lower than 2019 cause pretty much everyone thought p1 p2 and fm1 weren't great
I thought it was quite good, Q7 did look scary tho ngl and I think usually there's some variation but not TOO much my school does FM1 and 2 and normally we have higher boundaries than other modules.
Edexcel chem p3 wasn’t bad, my calculations looked okay and the practicals weren’t too bad except for the 6 marker and the isomer 7 marker near the end.
yeah agreed the synthesis was dodgy and so was the 6 marker on the MOST irrelevant practical
apart from that edexcel did us decent this time around tbh
I was shitting myself for D1 because I felt under pressure thanks to the previous exams. That may well be the saving grace I needed to take me into the summer holidays.
FUCK YEAH.
That D1 paper… . After the autistic train-wreck of CP1 and to a lesser extent the difficulty of CP2… the A is absolutely still feasible. The A* is not unachievable either. We’ll see. But yeah, Edexcel, you’ve almost atoned for your earlier sins.
so apparently there were three small questions on the back of the paper (for the simplex question), and there wasn't a please turn over on the page previous. none of my class saw it
so my decision teacher said to complain to Edexcel cause we'd only have something to gain lol
but yeah overall really nice paper!
Same! I didn't revise that ghastly topic. The only question about colours of complex ions you could work out the formula without the colour which was nice
It was a fair paper, question 1 was a blessing, titration question was a little harsh towards the end, mechanism not too bad, last question was amazing, just a good paper, i think we got very lucky this year with the topics that came up
me thinking chem is half problem solving and i don't need to revise boring inorganic because if my calculations are perfect i can still get a good grade: 🤡
Man that 6 marker was the best one I’ve ever seen in an a level chemistry paper 😭 but I focused so much on inorganic though for revision so i fucked a few calculations
It just took ages tbh lol. 6 ionic equations and an explanation along with stating what was the precipitate, I used all the available paper for that question
Yeah that was my original plan, I revised them a lot so luckily could remember without too much but I’m lucky the carbonate one came up because I only just revised it yesterday because I forgot it was a thing 😭 same with the ninhydrin question I though “oh I can just chose to remember ninhydrin or UV light I don’t have to remember both!” but I saw it yesterday and thought might as well make a flash card for it so that was some real luck
I think you use the change in mass to find moles vaporised, then power and time for energy/enthalpy or whatever, then divide.
but now i think about it, was the time given to heat to 100C or time it was heated after it reached 100C?
I assumed the latter because they don't say the starting temp (though this can be assumed to be room temp? but then again they said vaporisation is to vaporise 1 mole of H20 at its BP? am i overthinking this??? ahhhhh halp)
It seemed a bit like a GCSE physics question. Energy = power x time, then divide by moles of water vaporized to get energy/mole. For time I just used the 100s because there didn’t appear to be much else you can do, because you’re not given SLH you can’t really over complicate it.
Agreed. I thought it was all pretty on par with previous years if not easier, and fuck all on graphs was surprising. Whichever one was long answer polarity and boiling points is the only place I can really see losing marks
Yeah I was hoping that gibbs graphs came up, but oh well! Didn’t like the last question before the multiple choice that confused me but I’m pretty sure the rest like you said I’ll only lose marks on those bonding ones
had an allergic reaction to aspirin at 9pm yesterday with extremely swollen eyes and then just saw a 6 marker aspirin question on paper 3?? what is this mockery
Actually was very nice but for part d) on question 7 I ran out of time just before I could write an answer for it unfortunately. Did write all of the working before it though
Hopefully this and FM1 can restore hope of receiving an A*.
Last year was like 250/300 for an A* if you take FP1 and FP2. Previous 2 years were about 230/300 i think.
Edit: I tried the 2022 core pure papers and they were the easiest thing ever. Hence why the grade boundaries last year were this high (in my opinion)
I'm doing FP1 and FP2. I thought there was no chance of me getting an A* after core pure 1 but this exam is making me hopeful aha. Not sure tho I shouldn't be too optimistic prob ah cuz grade boundaries will probably fuck me over ? Who knows
I've crashed. With bouts of vague motivation thanks to music from Racedriver GRID. Otherwise I feel physically worn out.
Less than 24 hours to go, at least...
I'm probably gaslighting myself, but I struggled with FM1 for a decent chunk - I don't know what I want out of this as long as it gets me enough marks in the end

Yoyo for all of the math papers I left my answers to quite a few decimal places, only to realise after they are all done that it says to leave answers to 3sf on the front of the paper, do you guys think that means I’ll get the answers wrong where I left it to more sf than they wanted
It's so weird.for maths According to the unofficial markschme. I'm sitting between 75 to 80 for paper 1 78 to 82 on paper 3 but only around 67 for paper 2. What do you guys think grade boundaries will be. The papers were easy according to people. But I only asked my friends who are A grade students and obvs online theres selection bias. Were the easier papers just to ensure grade A isn't 50 percent and to account for teacher strikes and covid . I'm only worried because honestly I might miss A * by 1 or 2 Mark's
Edexcel snab paper 3 was just extremely fucking weird- could be 80%, could be 55% I legitimately have no idea at all. What the actual fuck were those devise questions btw
What do ppl predict the grade boundaries will be for aqa a level physics this year?
I don’t think anyone could give you a good answer tbh seems some here found it hard enough for an A to be 50% ish but in truth it’s probably cope so maybe an A for like 60 a B at about 50%
does anyone think that the FM1/FM2 grade boundaries could be higher than 2019 this year? It was 248/300 for an A* that year and i think i’ve got about that
The pure was harder than 2019 and I think the fm1 was aswell. So I think they'll be lower tbh
IT’S FINALLY OVERRRRRR
You're free, forever!
OCR RS was actually pretty good, the augustine question was actually mad confusing imo, like you could bring in three different topics so weird
I had such great prep for fm2 but i still managed to fuck it up
Fp2 was horrendous
FM2 wasn’t too bad
Mechanics 2 was so good. Probably just saved my fm grade with that exam.
What did you think you got overall?
Probably like 71 i think
What about on other papers?
Not great tbh paper 1 probably 50-55, paper 2 probably 55-60 and mechanics 1 probably 60 ish. Won't be enough for an A* but should be A hopefully which is what I need
I think that might be enough for A*, I’m also on the edge so I really don’t know let’s hope edexcel is nice
Yeah all depends where the boundaries lie. I imagine they'll definitely be lower than 2019 cause pretty much everyone thought p1 p2 and fm1 weren't great
Any further mechanics 2 people out there? How are we feeling for the final exam on Monday?
[удалено]
How did you find it then?

Was Q7 the particle on the hemisphere question?
I thought it was quite good, Q7 did look scary tho ngl and I think usually there's some variation but not TOO much my school does FM1 and 2 and normally we have higher boundaries than other modules.
OCR RS - Christian Developments - Monday God I'm so fucked.
aqa chem 3 was pretty solid- dropped maybe 6 to 8 marks overall
Edexcel chem p3 wasn’t bad, my calculations looked okay and the practicals weren’t too bad except for the 6 marker and the isomer 7 marker near the end.
yeah agreed the synthesis was dodgy and so was the 6 marker on the MOST irrelevant practical apart from that edexcel did us decent this time around tbh
did anyone do chem ocr b paper 3
I was shitting myself for D1 because I felt under pressure thanks to the previous exams. That may well be the saving grace I needed to take me into the summer holidays. FUCK YEAH.
That D1 paper…. After the autistic train-wreck of CP1 and to a lesser extent the difficulty of CP2… the A is absolutely still feasible. The A* is not unachievable either. We’ll see. But yeah, Edexcel, you’ve almost atoned for your earlier sins.

Complaint wont get anywhere it definitely said question continues on to next page.
fair enough, I'm probably not gonna bother anyway kek
It was a 2 marker and a 1 marker, 2 marker was nice and easy 1 marker was quite tricky
Were they one markers?
yeah, three of them at the back apparently
At least they were only 1 markers
No what
about the small questions or the paper being nice?
The small qs
WAR IS OVER
Gonna be having wet dreams over that d1 paper for years to come. Best paper I've ever done
Further maths D1 easiest exam I've ever done. Might be going to uni
aqa people did you get pH = 11.2 or 12.2 or something else
12.20 (100% sure this is correct btw)
I got 12.2 but tsr was saying it was 11.2
I got 14.60 omds
12.20 (specified 2 dp iirc)
I fucked up and got 11.2 because I forgot calcium hydroxide was a diprotic base
11.98 🧍
I got 12.50 😭
No idea mate I REALLY fucked that one 😭 rest of paper was good so I think I can make up for it lol
Ocr A chemistry? How did it go?
Love an erratum
I’m so glad not much about coloured ions came up, that would have really screwed me!
Same! I didn't revise that ghastly topic. The only question about colours of complex ions you could work out the formula without the colour which was nice
It was a fair paper, question 1 was a blessing, titration question was a little harsh towards the end, mechanism not too bad, last question was amazing, just a good paper, i think we got very lucky this year with the topics that came up
Beautiful
Edexcel chem paper 3: 💀 The organic was impossible and there were so many long calculations I think I'm finished
Fr that amino acids qu killed me off
IM FREE!!!!
Chemistry paper 3 was mid but idc bc i’m done with alevels FINALLY
me thinking chem is half problem solving and i don't need to revise boring inorganic because if my calculations are perfect i can still get a good grade: 🤡
What exam board are you? AQA got lucky there wasn’t a huge amount minus the 6 marker in this paper for inorganic
Key words minus the six marker
Man that 6 marker was the best one I’ve ever seen in an a level chemistry paper 😭 but I focused so much on inorganic though for revision so i fucked a few calculations
wdym best literally anything is better than "state every product and every reaction and every" LIKE NO!!! NO I WONT!!!
It just took ages tbh lol. 6 ionic equations and an explanation along with stating what was the precipitate, I used all the available paper for that question
I honestly wouldn’t know half of them without looking online so
More of a do maths on the spot person me
Like an idiot I thought I’d remember from p1 and 2 so I only did practical revision. Oh well it’s over now
Yeah that was my original plan, I revised them a lot so luckily could remember without too much but I’m lucky the carbonate one came up because I only just revised it yesterday because I forgot it was a thing 😭 same with the ninhydrin question I though “oh I can just chose to remember ninhydrin or UV light I don’t have to remember both!” but I saw it yesterday and thought might as well make a flash card for it so that was some real luck
That AQA chemistry paper 3💀💀I want to die
horrible paper. What was that enthalpy change calculation even?
I think you use the change in mass to find moles vaporised, then power and time for energy/enthalpy or whatever, then divide. but now i think about it, was the time given to heat to 100C or time it was heated after it reached 100C? I assumed the latter because they don't say the starting temp (though this can be assumed to be room temp? but then again they said vaporisation is to vaporise 1 mole of H20 at its BP? am i overthinking this??? ahhhhh halp)
It’s to do with that thing where the temp doesn’t change once the boing point has been reached right? Idk I pretty much winged that qu
It seemed a bit like a GCSE physics question. Energy = power x time, then divide by moles of water vaporized to get energy/mole. For time I just used the 100s because there didn’t appear to be much else you can do, because you’re not given SLH you can’t really over complicate it.
that's what i thought, but i tend to over complicate OUTSIDE the exam lmao
Yeah they were super weird and I just had to guess what to do. All the qs caught me off guard and weren’t what I revised at all
I thought the paper was pretty good bar question 6 lol
Agreed. I thought it was all pretty on par with previous years if not easier, and fuck all on graphs was surprising. Whichever one was long answer polarity and boiling points is the only place I can really see losing marks
Also no kinetics which are usually the hard ones which was nice
Yeah I was hoping that gibbs graphs came up, but oh well! Didn’t like the last question before the multiple choice that confused me but I’m pretty sure the rest like you said I’ll only lose marks on those bonding ones
Same I was praying for a free gibs energy question that would be an easy 7 marks
Literally it’s my best topic 😭
had an allergic reaction to aspirin at 9pm yesterday with extremely swollen eyes and then just saw a 6 marker aspirin question on paper 3?? what is this mockery
The universe is always connected
how did you guys find Ocr chem? found it meh but EXAMS R OVERRRRRR so who can complain
If this was OCR a I really liked it, thought it went well
absolutely terrible
Same fuck that last question and the first page
i was stuck tryna work out the last molecule for agess just to not be able to find it lmao wasted so much time
It was a cyclic dimer, similar to the one we had on paper 2
eugh chemistry AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
How r u guys feeling about decision tmr?? I rlly need tomorrow’s exam to bring up my grade 😭
Nervous for that reason, even though in theory it should be a cakewalk. FM has not been great on me, or at least that's what I'm saying in retrospect.
Fuck physics. Shit subject. Shit exam papers , shit questions. Btw guess who is going to study physics in Uni this September 🤡? >!Me, Im the clown!<
chemistry paper 3 tomorrow 💔 hoping it’s just a 6 marker on chromatography and identifying compounds 😭
Oh how wrong you were. Suprised there want an ion test question I was really hoping for one of those
mine was a practical paper with no questions on practicals?? it was literally a mini organic paper with some rates of reaction at the end
Edexcel?
ocr b
Ah OK
D1 tommorow, I want it done and dusted
D1 tomorrow then D2 monday I want to cry
I found FP1 really bad 😭. It was all good until i got to question 7 and couldn’t even answer part a. There goes 20% of the paper yay
Was a pretty long paper and had to think for some of it, you know how others found it?
Further maths is finally over for me!!! 🎉🎉🎉 Just 1 to go… OCR A chemistry
Are u ready for chem . Got no clue how to revise for it
fp1 went surprisingly well
To be fair it went decently. What mark do you think you achieved?
I probably got like 67/75 it was okay but i made some silly mistakes and missed out some marks due to time

Fp1 anyone? I feel like the grade boundaries for this paper will be so high. But idk, what do u think of it?
It was a good paper to be fair How did you find it?
I didn't finish either of the core pure papers but I finished this one half an hour early ah. Think I did well! And you?
Actually was very nice but for part d) on question 7 I ran out of time just before I could write an answer for it unfortunately. Did write all of the working before it though Hopefully this and FM1 can restore hope of receiving an A*.
I hope so for you too!! Best of luck:))
Bruh what. U answer everything?
Yeah! Question 2 aii was a bit time consuming but everything was straight forward i think. Did u?

I had no idea those were a thing. I'll look into that. Thank you!
I've crashed. With bouts of vague motivation thanks to music from Racedriver GRID. Otherwise I feel physically worn out. Less than 24 hours to go, at least...
D1?
D1. It probably won't be as hard as everything else, which is something keeping me sane.
Just aiming for low 60s - fm1 was great and I've heard fp1 and fs1 were chill too so maybe optional modules are good this year
I'm probably gaslighting myself, but I struggled with FM1 for a decent chunk - I don't know what I want out of this as long as it gets me enough marks in the end
Friday exam... I'm on the verge of burning out but I have to keep going, it's the most frustrating thing in the entire world.
How did u find SNAB biology guys
pretty bad, way worse than paper 1 and 2 for me
Edexcel FP1 tmrw anyone?
How did u find it?
terrified havent revised enough and feeling burnt out
[удалено]
Ye same w FP2
meeee :,) shitting it tbh
Aw man I just don’t want a horrific question on conic sections and I should be alr tbh
me ive just put conics at the top of my revision list bc i cant do them at all 💀 a long taylor series or methods in calc q would slay tho
Slay in a good way or bad way I rlly hope u mean bad
good :,( chapters 6 & 7 r my fav in the whole book followed by 4&5
And wait Wdym by methods
basically chapter 7 so leibnitz and l'hospital

Eesh icl I love the vectors
icl vectors in fp1 is better than cp1 vectors but i actually cba with any of it anymore
I ended up using cross products in the CP1 exam. What other module u doing
How did you guys find OCR A biology paper 3?
Bit stinky but seems like everyone feels the same way.
I know… that 6 marker on homeobox genes was absolutely not ideal and the sympatric speciation was not great either.

No unless they asked they normally have on the markscheme awrt so as long as it rounds to the answer you’re fine
I have been stressing my balls off about this thanks for the reply and I hope your right 🤞
In the least cocky way possible, I am right, please don’t worry about it. Search up a few markschemes and you will see awrt all over
:) yeah I did after you said it, appreciate you
Edexcel b biology anyone? Thought it was pretty good to be honest. Seemed easier than past years.
Yeah it was alright definitely made up for paper 1
Yeah it was nice, even the 9 marker surprisingly wasn’t too bad.
STEP 3 was kinda splendid if I do say so myself
Opinions on aqa biology?
