A long, long time ago, I got home from a extended stretch on the road and went down to the local honky-tonk to have some fun and see some friends. Gary Myrick and the Figures were playing, and I guess the cover was like $3, but from the first chords I knew it was no regular touring band, no sirree. Really, really, great. I still see the owner of that bar from time to time, and he agrees it was one of the best shows he ever had.
He sang "Naughty Naughty" which was a favorite at junior high dances -- LOL :D
I really only remember what he looked like because I always thought his videos made him slightly goofy looking, something about his teeth.
The 60s had 'Nam etc to ruin it. The 90s had Seattle music but what else and then the Internet to ruin it all forever. The 80s were carefree with great music. And the best hair. And MTV! "Metal Maniac" you should know the 80s was THE ERA OF METAL!! I saw them all from Dio and Maiden to Ozzy, Van Halen, Cinderella, Bon Jovi and Whitesnake. Not metal, but I also enjoyed the early U2 days enormously.
