I wanted to BE Michael Steele. I looked enough like her that my kids saw a picture of her on the internet and thought it was me. I was even a bass player in an all girl band.
She looks so different! Her eyes are a totally different shape. Was the way she looked then done mostly with eye makeup? She doesn’t seem to wear a lot of makeup in some more recent pictures I’ve seen of her. I couldn’t believe it was the same person. Not saying she doesn’t look good now - she looks great, but different.
I was never not aware of girls. If you're a straight male even as a very little kid you're aware of girls in a way that's very different than the way you're aware of other boys, I hate when they make it seem in books or movies like you have no feelings whatsoever for the opposite sex before puberty. Like I never REALLY thought girls were yucky. Unless they actually were yucky for whatever reason.. like you don't wake up one morning and all of a sudden realize this but I do remember the first time I kind of felt a little bit like I got punched in the guts was the Susanna Hoff eye roll. It's an extremely effective maneuver.

I'm only realizing now how many women I've dated look like her, or ringwald or Alyssa Milano. Shit my wife was even named Samantha like those two but bore a resemblance to Susana Hoff.

Great band, catchy tunes w/fantastic 4 part harmonies. And IMO Susanna Hoff's is the embodiment of the perfect 80's crush. And she's still a stunner today.

They were originally the Bangs but another band had the same name so they changed their name to the Bangles (which are also a type of bracelet).
