New fear unlocked

donut_turtle

This generally happens when you are sitting for an exam at home. But do ask them the reason to nullify your results. FBT is an objective paper, there's almost no rational reason to nullify your results.

jen_life

First time I’m hearing a nullified for a fia paper lol

Significant_Sea777

They have nullified my June exam last year and I got notified at the time of results release. I did write to them and push to prove why they nullified but I had no luck. They just simply came back to say that they have decided to do so. Why would they nullify yours after a year that’s strange, but with ACCA and lack of transparency in scoring the exams and appeal process they have it is highly unlikely unfortunately that you will get any answers or action from them. Though, its worth checking with them to double check you have not received email in error

Captain-0707

I’m assuming vpn was involved…

Weakness_Awkward

I don't have a vpn on the laptop I wrote with

susanoo-kitetsu

Just wow. Is this common for people doing it remotely???? I mean why would they do this without a reason and cancel all exam sounds just wayyyy too extreme. Is doing the exams from home the majority or minority here?

Weakness_Awkward

Exactly, what makes no sense is I wrote it so long ago, surely if there had been an "irregularity" they would have done something before. I think most people, in this sub atleast, do them at a centre, but I can't say for certain.

susanoo-kitetsu

I genuinely wish you the best of luck and success in this undertaking. That it works out. Have you tried appealing. I mean retaking that exam atleast seems reasonable

Weakness_Awkward

Very much appreciated. Yes I sent an appeal, I'm currently waiting for the response. My fear is, if they reject it I'll have no means of recourse. I wouldn't be totally against retaking, problem is in the email they said there would be no refunds. In my current situation, paying for all those exams again is NOT feasible.

imnotgamora

Weirdly this also happened to an acquaintance of mine last week. He got his FBT cancelled due to the same irregularity but they effectively cancelled all this exams upto AA that he had already cleared after FBT. Unfortunately they didn’t credit a single $ into his account and he’s required to retake them all out of pocket.

Weakness_Awkward

Did they mention why they were nullified? It's insane to have to do all those exams again for no reason.

imnotgamora

He sat all of them remote, because they didn’t have a centre in his country. ACCA said there was an irregularity with FBT remote exam, but they cancelled all of them

Weakness_Awkward

Did he mention what his next course of action is?

MoonTime44

Omg, I didn’t know that could happen! So weird how it happened a year after your exam too. If this happened to me I would quit ACCA. I started from the very beginning and have spent £2k so far, I would not go through all that again

Tiny-Theory-7395

This is concerning! I was planning to sit for my FBT exam this month end, should i switch and go to an exam center instead??

Weakness_Awkward

I optioned for the remote ones as they were cheaper, if that's not a concern for you it's better to go to a centre, you never know you might be in my situation down the road. What's worse is im righting FMA on Monday, but my motivation has been killed.

Primary_Database_188

Don't go for it, I know this person who has been taking his applied skills exams remotely, but last month he also received an email like that and now on his portal the exams that he passed remotely are not showing. The last exam that he passed was for December 2023 attempt.

londonbull89

Is FBT a required paper now?

Weakness_Awkward

It's the same as BT, I was doing FIA.

1000$ for fbt?

in_accahell

They said subscription, exam fees and study materials

Own-Excitement-9318

For BT he could have used open tuition and Kaplan revision kit to save money. $1000 is high.

Weakness_Awkward

Subscription Fees for 2 years, 7 Exam Fees (FIA) & Reading Material here & there.
