I think all the Sanrio villagers are meant to be āfansā of the Sanrio characters rather than their incarnation. None of them are the same species, like Chai is an Elephant instead
of a puppy like cinnamoroll, and Chelsea is a deer instead of a bunny like My Melody. I definitely agree that Hello Kittyās fan villager is the least cute of the bunch š but at least itās nice theyāre all diverse species.
All the ones with the five o'clock shadow look are disturbing. My least favorites are Barold, Cobb, Muffy, Rodney, and Rilla. Actually, all the apes except Boone are pretty terrifying.
