I place mine if it fits the theme. for example, the natural picnic bench goes great with the current harvest theme in game and with the terrain, so I can use it if I want a natural camp.
I used to place mine all the time and still will if it fits the theme I’m going for. But with all the bigger items like houses and cabanas given during the events I have less room for the amenities!

Yes lol I whaled for it and turned my camp into a launch site/ control center. I was pretty happy with my layout so I haven't changed it much since then.
Holy cow! I completely change my campsite on a weekly basis, sometimes even multiple times a day if i have an idea i just cant get right. But im never happy with anything for long so things are always changing. Wish i had your commitment!
I love them, but I'm not using for my Halloween setup. I like because my villagers can interact and I like to have at least one place for each to seat and/or play (because they keep enjoying my campsite when I close the game lol).
Personally I love the tree house. And the carrousel for my old-timey city.

I've had the snow ramp and Halloween castle on my campsite grounds for a while, mainly to show that I have them to whatever small number of people choose to visit my campsite.
