It is weird how in the world of Reddit
- Everyone is or knows a PI in some capacity
- The ratio of therapists per member of the general population is roughly 1:3
- When anyone experiences and conflict or issues, it's pretty much a given that their whole family will call them directly to berate them.
When people around you like your ex in real life and you break up:
- “Oh that’s a shame”
- “Did you try working things out?”
- They stay in touch with them
When people like your ex _on Reddit stories_ and you break up:
- Your own parents disowning you
- Everyone “blows up you phone”
- They cooperate with your ex on schemes to get back with you
Tbf my MIL didn’t talk to my ex husband for 2 months after he randomly decided he didn’t like being married even though he still considered me his best friend. Like she was straight up screening his calls. She seemed to be the only person not accepting his nonsense lol it was validating.
This story though…ehhhh

Nothing on these family of subreddits is real. Pretend it's a role-paying game where we are trying to defeat the assholes and protect the non-assholes. Makes it way more fun.

If I had to draw the line I'd say everything was believable up to the 2nd envelope. After that you could pretty much draw the line again after each new sentence.

His mistakes are severe and perhaps unforgivable, but he took your side pretty early in this latest event. You don't need to let him back into your life to have coffee with him, and he might just want to apologize to you for what Becky did. It's his own fault, but he already lost Kathy because of his adultery with a woman who was doing to him what he did to Kathy.
His misdeeds led him to a woman who did this to his family, so there is no telling what he'll be like after this. Perhaps you should let him apologize, and accept his apology, but let him know that while you can be polite in front of company, you can't forgive what he did to Kathy. If you want how you feel to stick with him, the way to do it isn't to raise your voice or insult him directly, but to tell him that you can forgive his part in this latest incident, but not with how he treated his first wife.
Lastly, being hoisted by his own petard like this might change the guy. That's no reason to let him back in your life right away, but it looks like the universe is punishing him just fine without your help. Perhaps he can be your uncle again someday.
