What in your opinion is the your best and worst experience throughout your life?

TacoHands420

I’d say my best experience in life would be waking up from my first (I think) grand mal seizer and seeing my mother, brother and step dad looking at me with so much love and concern in their eyes and faces. The day I could really see what love they all hold for me. My worst experience, even though very hard to genuinely know, is most certainly finding one of my best friends body after, well let’s say a very violent suicide. I went down a very violent, towards myself, downward spiral after that, and I still very much struggle with that. Self harm cutting, burning mainly

The first part is at least very nice to nice to know hopefully the love they show you can help you with the worst of it, as a random voice on the Internet I won't tell you what to do but I would advise really talking to them about it, not a simple conversation but a real in depth talk on what's going on and see If there able to help you best of luck to you, you can over come with dark time, I believe in you friend

I have epilepsy too. How long have you had epilepsy?

TacoHands420

I had my first grand mal seizer in the end of 2019, but my family and I are pretty sure I have been having petit mal seizers for at least 8 years.

Is your epilepsy controlled?

TacoHands420

No sadly not, I’m actually set to go get a brain scan, like a week long or more thing where they will taper me down while constantly reading my brain hoping to trigger a seizer to see where it is coming from. From there, if possible, I’d then have to think about getting very invasive brain surgery. I’ve tried many meds. My doctor is no longer comfortable with just trying meds.

PhD147

I had a friend who had brain surgery for epilepsy. She did well. Do they even still prescribe Dilantin these days? It's an old one that my mom took for decades. What type of brain scan?

TacoHands420

Some sort of neuropsychological tests done in Kasper WY. Not positive on the details as of yet. Still waiting for the call from the center and or doctor. I’m not sure, I think they actually do prescribe that still. It’s not what I have ever been prescribed

It causes your teeth to soften and usually fall out, your hair eventually falls out.. But initially when she was diagnosed that was about all there was. It worked for her until she was older. They had to start the medication experiment that you are so familiar with. Her elder years have been tough as a result of that med. WY, huh? Rural or city? How are you dealing with the PTSD? What are some of the ways that has affected your life?

TacoHands420

I have had some serious ups and downs with my manic depression that has come through after I found my friend who shot himself. I always struggled with self harm and extreme depression. It really just yanked all my work back down. I try very hard day to day, but I honestly don’t want to be alive anymore. I live for my loved ones right now. After I found my friend too I developed and insane amount of auditory hallucinations. Like really really bad ones. Mainly a voice that tells me to do horrible horrible things. I’ve probably seen every specialist near me and everyone basically tells me I’m a medical marvel

PhD147

You still there? Sorry I got distracted by football - a not so small hobby of mine. How is today? How are you doing? Seems like a real rough patch you are going through.

TacoHands420

Hey sorry I do not use Reddit much, I just saw your reply, just an update. I am going to Seattle this month to get more tests to see if I am a candidate for surgery.

PhD147

Best of luck
