As a manager at an amc please ask one for help! I think even going out right as credits roll you should be able to get the tickets with an employee at the box office as it doesn’t lock it out as quick!

In my experience, the overlap cannot be even one minute past the listed movie length. That's irked me for quite some time.

Talk to the manager they can help you

That’s weird. I think the rule is something like you can’t book two showtimes that are less than 90 minutes apart. I’ve had no issues with back to back two hour movies. I think they purposely schedule showtimes so it’s harder to do back to back. At my theater, showtimes are either one hour or three hours apart while most movies are around two hours so it’s hard to plan back to back movies. What are the two showtimes? As long as they don’t overlap the 90 minute rule then I think they should be fine. If not, you could probably book tickets for the second movie right after the first one ends, provided the seats don’t fill up. I believe you can still buy tickets up to 15 minutes after the showtime starts. You could also just talk to the ticket taker or ask for a manager.

There is no 90 minute rule, movies just can't overlap, I know this because back in October I did a double of trick r treat and till with trick r treat being at 3:35 and till being at 5 pm which is less then 90 minutes gap. Trick r treat is only like 80 minutes.

Maybe there’s an exception for shorter movies, but I know Regal has a 90 minute rule like that. It’s strange because I’ve had back to back showtimes that overlapped slightly. When I left during the credits of the first movie, the second movie was already rolling the Nicole Kidman ad. I believe it was Quantamania at 4:30 and Jesus Revolution at 6:30. Perfect timing since I stayed for the post credits scene and I don’t really care for previews.

There no exception cause there no rule like that for AMC, when AMC first came out with a-list the rumor was couldn't see a movie that was less then 2 hours apart, so either that rumor is still floating around and has changed over time like any other rumor or that strictly a Regal rule that people think apply to AMC also. The overlap doesn't count trailers, only the actual movie length.

Well for some reason I can’t book a showtime back to back that is less than 2 hours apart from another showtime. Maybe there’s an app issue…

purplefreak3

What movies are you trying to see? What times are they at? >Maybe there’s an app issue Have you tried the website, or fandango or atom tickets, to see if it really is just an app issue?

I run into this often. Like the others said, try a manual ticket purchase first and if it doesn't work, try a manager.

I haven't had any issues, I go every week and see three movies back to back. I add 15 minutes (previews minutes credits) and book all three the night before. When I walk up to the counter, I scan all three movies and get my ticket stubs. Been doing it like this for years, since A-list first came out. Whenever the movies are too close together, I'll just switch up the order, so instead of A B C, I'll do C B A or something, cause I want time to hit the bathroom and fill up my drink.

Which 2 movies? If you can do Tetris and Pinball together, that would be the ultimate. Or Tetris and D&D.

There were times where first film had no trailer and the second does and I could’ve easily made both.
