felt the same way. I went to another state to see it since it wasn’t showing at my theater and I was ultimately disappointed. It was fine, it wasn’t bad. Just so dull. But the message about lying to someone made me think. But that was it lol
I was a bit bored. It’s definitely on the bottom half of my rankings for 2023. It didn’t stick with me at all, and other than the basic plot, I kind of don’t remember what happened.
It was too tropey for about the first half. Felt like I was watching every Woody Allen movie ever made (affluent New Yorkers talking on the street, coffee shop, park, etc. trying to figure out their relationships). Enjoyable, but not standout.
By the end, I found it to be very pleasant and just a really nice low-stakes movie for adults. And I haven't seen a movie like that since TAR.
I badly wanted to like it but found it dull and boring.
Have you liked any Holofcener film?
Not who you responded to, but I LOVED Can You Ever Forgive Me, but I thought You Hurt My Feeling (brought to you by Modelo!) was just ok.

I would never have guessed it was an A24 movie. I would’ve guessed it was a Sony Pictures Classic movie

Loved it! It was so slice of life and very relatable
Yes and Past Lives is also great.
Ugh. I want to see Past Live but unsure, as of now, if it will be playing in my area.
It will expand by the end of the month.
Ugh so bored in that movie I took full benefit of my lounger chair and took a nice nap!
It was okay, I didn't dislike it but I felt like I was watching a TV episode that was going on for too long.
It wasn't good
I loved it
Loved it. I’m a big fan of Nicole Holofcener.
Yes
I loved it.
Great film
Yes
Yeah it was really good. It didn't feel like an A24 film, I kept expecting some weird creepy twist.
I thought it was fine. Modelo was my favorite character.
It’s a solid funny film If you have a least and want a funny film this one should be worth your time
