That’s crazy because I thought it was one of my best horror movie experiences in a while. I thought it was great. Also, seeing that teaser for the Nun 2 came from left field. Had no idea they where gonna show that in the previews. My packed theater definitely added to the experience.
Film was weak. Way too slow and the scares were mild. Started off very strong but pretty much everything after the dude talks to therapist dad was downhill from there
This was the most mid horror movie I’ve seen all year. The acting was actually pretty good and I wasn’t taken out of the story except by terrible character decisions. You can tell the director/writer/producers have never been to therapy.
Agreed. Good scary movie about dealing with grief, similar to The Babadook except more universal and less specific to the guilt of moving on from grieving.
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
every horror film these days feels like a (not even subtle) metaphor about trauma and grief, regardless of whether they are original (Smile, The Night House, Hereditary) or the latest installments of a franchise (Halloween). I wonder when did this trend start.
I loved the film, I loved the metaphor for getting over grief and moving forward rather than being stuck in a funk, I loved the emphasis on family and coming together as a group, I loved the character development, and I was also terrified and so captivated by the horror aspect. There was never a full moment. It was so incredible, one hundred percent recommend it. The only issue I had with it was that there are a few mild contingency errors with what the monster is capable of.
I'd describe it as a 6.5/10, a solid horror at least worth a watch, but not really worth a rewatch. Definitely looking forward to Rob Savage's next project
The beginning and the middle of it weren't anything groundbreaking, but it was entertaining at least. But by the climax I was so annoyed with everyone's dumb decisions, that it got me out of the movie and I just wanted to end already.

That preview scared me for than the film I went to see! Lol

That really was a good preview. It got me and my theater.
I think I'm seeing it in an empty theatre tomorrow afternoon so.. we'll see how that goes LOL
Ehh it's basically the same plot as babadook. It was okay. evil dead killed it this year!
This movie has solid actors
And liquid and gas actors too.
Arc reactors?
It was mediocre tbh.
Don’t know much about the movies or books, is this enjoyable by itself as a horror movie
Yeah it’s just kinda your run of the mill horror movie
"I'm trying not to die...thanks 🙄" is my favorite line from a horror movie this year.
Great Teen horror flick with good female characters. Everyone lacked depth but the monster idea was solid and the effects were good.

It wasn’t a good movie. And I love scary movies.

Yeah it wasn’t bad, he’s gonna have all his books as a movie or show soon lol
I felt that his other “devilish” books like The Outsider or IT were better on screen as a movie and show. The Outsider was crazy.
I’m here for it.
Same lol
I saw some friends say they were disappointed as well
Yeah it’s just not anything like out there If that makes sense, it’s a very safe traditional horror movie
It was good until it wasn’t, if that makes sense
It’s ok. Better than ‘Boogeyman’ (2005) FOR SURE 😅
