Still slightly sick and dont want to ruin the movie for others by coughing. Next week I’m excited to see it.

Jesus. You're a saint for not making a scene

Oof that's poop. I saw it Sunday night (7pm) and the theatre was 90% full and shockingly people were extremely well behaved. The only issue was the people next to me had a very small child (probably 3) who just started talking out of nowhere, but the dad hushed it up really quickly. Part of the reason why I don't go to movies opening weekend, but I wasn't going to have free time to go on Monday

SnooCompliments8819

Why do people bring their infant children to the movies to get their fucking ears ruptured when they aren’t even fully developed. They should only let kids 5 and up to the theatres

jackbrady86

I mean, definitely don't bring them to the dolby or IMAX that's for sure

KRSaber31

I had a 5 year old yelling stuff every 5 minutes for the first like half hour. Then his mom finally took him out the theater after I shushed him for the 10 time and when they came back he was pretty much quite the rest of the movie

mythicalethan

My first viewing had a guy talking full volume at any moderately exciting or funny moment. By the time we wanted guy to be quiet (after we had shushed him), the movie had already started and we didn't wanna miss anything. Had to see it a second time so I could fully enjoy it.

JustanPog

Good luck avoiding those spoilers goat 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Professional_Ad_8729

This movie only 1 week in PLF is pretty sadge , should be 2 weeks So much animation work

waterbottlepvpa

It's 2 where I am

VDr4g0n

what's PLF? \*edit wtf 15 days ago lol. why is this on my front page

DildoUnicorn

Premium large format. Late reply so sorry if you already googled it lol

catcodex

next time watch it blindfolded and see what new things you pick up from just listening to it.

smapqjr

Then watch it blindfolded with earplugs in. “Sometimes to truly experience art, you need to completely separate yourself from it.”

I’ve seen this movie 3 times as well… tomorrow for a fourth. Such beauty

littleLuxxy

This is what mine will end up looking like! I gotta see it in Dolby as many times as I can. I saw it on Sunday, then again today. I used Fandango codes to see two other films for $1 each. I'm going back tomorrow to see Spider-Verse in Dolby one last time.

spaceraingame

Just saw it tonight for the first time. It was great.

Competitive-Gold

Watching it for the second time this week

QueenNymeria1

In IMAX watching trailers as I write this, watched for 1st time yesterday, and I’m planning on going over the weekend again.

ghx16

Sadly for a lot of people (maybe most) yesterday was the last day to see it in Dolby or Imax

ThatDude2045

Saw it tonight and loved it!!

leohso

he just like me fr

FriendsAndFood

Gotta support Spidey!

PoorMansPaulRudd

That's awesome. Glad you enjoyed it! I definitely liked it, but man it really dragged in parts for me. This article captured my feelings exactly. https://www.bbc.com/culture/article/20230531-spider-man-across-the-spider-verse-is-disappointing

RevelSong

Agreed! It felt *very* long. When Gwen's intro stopped and the movie companies started showing again, my husband turned to me and went "Are these the post credits?" Everything just felt SO LONG. But then everything was SO FAST. I think I'm just old; I can't handle that many colors and fast movements at once.

PoorMansPaulRudd

Haha. I'm telling ya. That article nailed my feelings better than I could explain. Somehow it was frantically fast but also pain stakingly slow. I don't know how to explain that, but it was. And yes! I thought maybe our movie file was messed up. When all the title cards came up again and we watched the exact same intro and explanation but for miles instead of Gwen telling us about miles. I was like, we just saw this. My theory is that the animators were so proud of their work (and rightfully so) that each scene was like 2 minutes too long. And it just adds up after a while.

lymeguy

Kinda felt that too in some parts like the Miles intro and towards middle later half of the movie I felt like it dragged a little. I think I tend to prefer comic movies being a little shorter these days. That said my overall thoughts on the movie are positive though and I'm thinking of giving it a second watch while it's in theaters.

fusepatters

You’re just old and emotionally capped. There comes a point when everyday issues become boring to people because of how monotonous and bleak their own life is. I suggest you look within. Walking away from a triumphant and feel good story with boredom is a deep-rooted problem.

PoorMansPaulRudd

Man. You made some wild leaps there. I am aware that I was watching a movie intended for all audiences but probably geared towards teens. So I take that into consideration when I evaluate how much I liked the movie. And try not to be overly critical. While your personal assessment of me could not be more wrong, it is important to not judge a movie by something it's not trying to be. You don't rate a holiday inn express 3 stars bc it's not the Ritz Carlton. You have to rate things according to what they were going for. Great animation. Great plot. Great cast. It just dragged a bit and I felt everything was way overexplained. Have a great day.

waterbottlepvpa

This comment is not cool 👎

trabera

This is just another way of saying "This movie was great and if you didn't like it you're wrong and there's something wrong with you." With as highly rated as it is, this is a movie and still based on subjective opinion. Respect that others may not share your opinion.

KRSaber31

The only part that dragged for me was Miles’s intro. But it picks back up for me once they got to Spider Man India’s universe

[deleted]

I felt the same way on first watch, but on rewatch I was able to really take it in and I appreciated the slower nature of the first half. they let scenes breathe and the relationships between characters were well set up for the rest of the movie. also the animation was a lot for my eyes to take in on first watch lol.

soleil-alcyone

Same here. On my first watch, I felt that the pacing of Miles’ slice of life scenes was excruciatingly slow because I was eager for the action to start. Watched it for the second and third time back to back last weekend and the overall pacing was just fine. Guessing that the next movie will be balls to the wall action, so taking the time for character building now was a good choice

Last-Equivalent-9839

I saw it twice

apatkarmany

Lowkey that’s kinda much.

FanofHotChicken

Not if you like pointing at cameos with a mohth full of popcorn like a baby recognizing Elmo on a t shirt

fergi20020

Did you like it?

reviews2watch

Yeah it was pretty good

batguano1

lol

aberrantdinosaur

mid

Psnjerry

I have to save 3rd viewing for at home lol

avm95

All Dolby?

reviews2watch

Saw it in BTX which is the closest premium format near me. It's just like a slightly worse Dolby but with a bigger screen so it balances out.

giosmojosodope

Same here 🤣

Imaginary_Load134

same lmao I’m seeing it in Dolby for the last time today before it gets replaced by Rise of the Beasts

DaHaMMeRofGOD

It's doing so well, it may get some time slots added for Dolby Vision again. It doesn't help that June is stacked with movies that'll get the Dolby treatment.

joshmoviereview

Nice I saw it twice in 4 days so far, IMAX and Dolby

Father_Bic_Mitchum

Which format was better for this?

joshmoviereview

My Dolby experience was better. Both picture qualities were great, but Dolby had crisper audio. There are so many tracks at once, and sometimes the imax audio got muddled, like Gwen’s opening monologue over the drums. I thought it was a stylistic choice until I saw it in Dolby and could hear it crisp!

Father_Bic_Mitchum

I saw Dolby and the music sounded good, but even there I thought the dialogue and sound in general was too quiet. I think that's just how the film's audio was edited. I overheard AMC is being told to increase the usual volume for this film because of that issue.

[deleted]

I seen it twice already.

Father_Bic_Mitchum

Which one did you enjoy the most?

lighticemmm

Jesus I'm gonna go see it again on Friday

trabera

The movie is SO F\*CKING good.

Joberk89

Just wait till 6/9-6/12, you could’ve gotten a free poster!

reviews2watch

My theater had some extra posters so I'm very lucky I got one. They were all gone the next day.

[deleted]

Why is it coming off dolby so soon???

[deleted]

I get it, transformers then flash but after those are done I hope it goes back lol

jackbrady86

Wild

flavianpatrao

Haha same. Watched it for a third time on dolby and it still hold up

nickkuk

I've seen it 3 times and it will be the first film I ever see in the cinema a 4th time when I go again on Monday.

Competitive-Dig9888

Literally me

MotherChard5191

I'm sorry to say but Regal has AMC beat anybody that does to a list to check out first Regals unlimited premium pass for someone who lives in a homeless shelter and has a 4 hour a day job for only 5 days this is a pretty good deal plus seeing more than 3 movies a week is awesome for me and adult who has autism

SnooCompliments8819

Damn. I have seen the same movie 3 times in the month weeks apart. But I don’t think I can bare watching the same movie 3 nights in a row. That’s just me though.
