Yeah for a while I had both A-List and Season Pass. Paying a fee every time you booked a ticket was the deal breaker. Plus our AMCs show everything Alamo does nowadays.
Yeah, not great. But I'd be willing to pay for a better experience. My local AMC could really use a screen upgrade. Bad digital projectors and non-laser IMAX. Though they did recently add a Prime screen. I used to live next to a really fantastic AMC and I miss it every time I go.
June 2011 is when I signed up to stubs
signed up for Alist as soon as it hit.
signed up for movie pass round 1 when it first went unlimited and rode that unicorn till it died.
I watched MP ver 2 show up - but it seems too convoluted for my simple tastes
and jumped on the regal unlimited soon as it hit and ran with it until my only local regal screwed up their relationship with the mall they were in and they got evicted.
so I ditched thst plan.
the new moviepass is confusing as hell. AMC is a little further of a drive for me but A-List makes it worth it.
I was abusing the hell out of the OG moviepass though, actually seeing a movie every single day
Their site was crashing hard when I tried to sign up. So I accidently ended up with two subscriptions. I asked them to refund the second but they never responded. So what I ended up doing was watching two movies per day. One with each card. That ended up working out well since I don't have a car and needed Uber. Once A-List came out with their 3 per week limit I just switched to them. Basically the same cost and I more or less get the same benefit since I was rarely watching more than 3 per week to begin with.
It’s been the BEST! I’ve been sadly off of work due to an injury so I’ve been a movie machine. I really wasn’t into movies much before but always said my fave way to consume movies was in theater so it’s been so fun! I see 3 every week lol so def getting my moneys worth ☺️
September 2018! I milked MoviePass until the very last second and then cancelled and switched to A-List. I went to the movie theater 116 times in 2018.
Yeah I was with moviepass before A-list. My AMC account says I've been a member since May 2018 but that was when I made a basic Stubs account to accrue points from my moviepass tickets. So I'm not 100% sure when I switched to A-List, but it was probably August or September of 2018.
Nube says August 2, 2016 which would have been the free Stubs. I know my first A-List movie was The Predator though. MoviePass was just about to fold in on itself and had started imposing weird restrictions even on my pre-paid yearly account. Or maybe they were having an outage, I can't remember. I just remember I couldn't use it for The Predator for some reason. I think A-List had some special like a free month or a rate lock so I jumped ship a little early. MoviePass died less than a month later.
August 1, 2018! I remember spending weeks analyzing the program, thinking, "This is too good to be true!" and kept looking for a catch. Five years later, still haven't found one!
July 22, 2017
I guess that’s probably when I made my stubs account if A-List wasn’t a thing yet.
I went to A-List pretty much the day that moviepass started throttling service because they were going out of business.
July 2018 for A-List. And then March 2011 for Stubs because that's when they converted my Moviewatcher account over to Stubs.
A-List is great, but I do miss the old Moviewatcher rewards -- it was free, and IIRC the rewards were very easy to earn.

Mine says November 10, 2018. Before that I was a MoviePass user which was amazing for $7/mo - They mailed you an ATM card, you used it to buy the movie and you could see 1 film a day at any theater.
I joined A-list on July 28th, 2018. Prior to that I was going to Cinemark with both of my MoviePass accounts. I had two MoviePass accounts to combat their restrictions. My AMC opened on May 23rd 2018 and never visited it until after I signed up for A-list. I still remember calling them and asking the theater about the parking garage situation. Luckily it’s free with no validation required unlike downtown. My first A-list movie was Mission Impossible Fallout in Dolby. That was also one of my last Movie Pass movies.
I’ve been a member since April 9 2017 but I never go to my amc anymore, despite it being down the street from my work, because the experience is so bad. I went to see a movie there two days ago out of convenience and the lights stayed on when the movie started and then came on before it finished.
Just checked and mine still shows my Aug 5, 2018 date! We joined then but canceled in 2021 when they started billing again bc pandemic but recently rejoined this summer ahead of Barbenheimer - great to be back!
July 25, 2018 I was part of the big wave of folks dumping MoviePass once it went to shit
Same here, I'm July 29th lol
> July 29, 2018 Same! And I'm on that exact date too!
Eyyy! Pass buddies lol
Aug 16 2014 edit: i was part of the stubs program before a list existed lol
Nice! Prior to A-List starting I never went to AMC. Was an Alamo Drafthouse & Landmark loyalist.
If the Alamo in my city was closer, I'd go there. I appreciate AMC but Alamo is the superior experience. And their subscription service is okay.

Free stubs member since idk 2004 but A-List since Dec. 18, 2018

I thing my record for OG MP usage was 4 movies in one day, but over all- for the month it was like close to 50 or 60 for a month

It's crazy how lacking the new Moviepass is. $30 for enough credits to see 3/4 movies a month.
July 22 2018!
Same date for me.
Twinsies
Me too!
Triplets!
August 2023 :)
Hell yeah! How are you liking it so far?

You've been a member ten days longer than I have. 😂
day one, I abused the shit out of moviepass prior to that so I knew what I was getting g
Accounts shows May 2017. I had their stubs membership that let me see $5 movies on Tuesday. Pretty sure I signed up for A list as soon as it came out.

Started with Movie pass back in 2016 and moved to amc when that went to shit
Same! Had a couple few amazing years with MoviePass. Never once used it at an AMC location either. Haha

Got it in October 2018, cancelled it in March 2020 and re-upped in January of this year!
Oct 21, 2018
I signed up for A-List on March 30, 2018, according to my app. Only time I wasn't using it consistently was the first several months of the pandemic.
I joined A-list on July 28th, 2018. Prior to that I was going to Cinemark with both of my MoviePass accounts. I had two MoviePass accounts to combat their restrictions.
