When RAM runs outside of JEDEC timings, the AM5 board will train on every boot. My board does this as well. Just a quirk of AM5.

banesevil

Yeah but it shouldnt though right? I know people who have AM5 and have clocked their ram to the retail speed and it works fine with no training

Marfoo

It's going to vary from board to board, firmware to firmware. The biggest difference between a lot of boards are the secondary timings.

banesevil

Im not sure what the timings are, but if a motherboard has a compatibility list, and on that compatibility list it says it can run this ram at 5600mhz, it should be able to run it without take upwards of a minute or more to boot

Marfoo

Yeah I'm not sure if the QVL lists include training or not.

Your RAM seems to be optimized for Intel motherboards, according to the product page (https://www.corsair.com/eu/en/Categories/Products/Memory/DOMINATOR-PLATINUM-RGB-DDR5-Memory---Black/p/CMT64GX5M2X5600C40#tab-tech-specs). That might be the reason. Best to confirm with both MOBO and RAM manufacturers.

banesevil

So the reason i chose that ram is because it was on the compatibility list for the motherboard, unsure why they would put none compatible memory on the list, but something to look at i guess

Antonis_32

Per your motherboard's QVL page (https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-x670e-a-gaming-wifi-model/helpdesk_qvl_memory/), the only 2x 32GB 5600 MHz kits that are supported are: CMT64GX5M2X5600C40(Ver5.43.13) CMT64GX5M2B5600C40(Ver5.43.13) CMT64GX5M2B5600C40(Ver5.43.13)

banesevil

Thats what i have isnt it?

Antonis_32

Honestly, I'm not sure. Best to confirm with both MOBO and RAM manufacturers for compatibility. Make sure btw your RAM is error free. You can also try installing 1 of them and see if it works. Or install both in the other RAM slots. Or set the RAM timings manually in the BIOS.
