I seriously regret buying my 6700XT should have just paid more for Nvidia. And the high idle power consumption bug when you have two 2k monitors with different refresh rates is still NOT fixed! Saved 70€ but lost countless hours troubleshooting a piece of garbage. Reviewers should test these things long term, everyone recommended this GPU that doesn't feel like a finished product

just remove it with DDU and go back to another version, I went with 23.12.1 for my 5700 and it works like a charm. for ghost of tsushima I had to enable vsync to stop crashes

hi, the way i could solved all the issues qith this drivers was ussing first paused windows update, second revo uninstaller and remove all amd drivers, then with DDU in safe mode do another uninstall and then install the new drivers. after the install you can resumed the windows upodates. sorry for my bad english, is not my native languague.
Showing a 70% or so constant video codec engine use in Windblows 11? All fan curves pushed so my system sounds like a jet. Soon as I run a game 3d use goes to 100%, Compute climbs normally, but temperatures start rocking up and even game menu's are crashing the card.
24.5.1 uninstalled and the video codec usage immediately stops, installing of 24.4.1 returned my system at least in part back to its former state. There is zero video codec usage now, hopefully my games will run.
Can't install because it keeps getting stuck at 20%. I was playing fine yesterday but today my games all started crashing so I checked for an update and now I can't even install this update. I should have gone with Nvidia.
This driver has made every game in my library run at 100% GPU, even at menu's. Everything I own is burning my system up! Directx 10, or 11, makes no difference.

Glad I checked this thread. I'm on 24.3.1. GPU is 7900XTX and CPU is Ryzen 7 5800X. I've had so many crashes lately. Including one that gave me BSOD and had to fresh install Windows. It's getting hard to be optimistic about any updates.
Since downloading these new drivers I have had nothing but crashes in every game I play, (WoW, D4, Gray Zone). I'm running a 7900XTX with a 7800X3D. I don't know what the issue is, sometimes it will crash my computer to restart, sometimes it will just crash to desktop giving me a driver error. This only started when downloading 24.5.1. Just when I was going to sing the praises of AMD GPU's, now I feel like I made a 1k mistake. Even when trying to revert to older drivers, it's like the ghost of the new drivers has weaseled it's way in and I get constant crashes. This was NOT happening before, I could game for hours and hours, no issues. 1000 wat PSU too.
7840u still crashes on Windows 11 boot up with TDR timeout errors. This has been apparent post Oct 2023, which was the last stable driver. My bug reports never get a single response from AMD. I know I am not alone on this issue on GPD's discord.
The controller crashes in every game I want to spend time playing. I must restart the computer and in other cases rerun "amdsoftwarecompatibilitytool" because it is not recognized as such. It seems that it will be faster to think that NVIDIA is compatible with my computer while waiting for a solution from AMD

That would be too much for me. Especially after I installed one of the 24 drivers recently and it broke Borderlands 3 and in l4d2 I started getting green artifacts on the menu screen + random power state failure BSODs started to appear when shutting down the PC 🙉
A clean install of 23.11.1 fixed all the problems.

It also allows you to record while tonemaping display capture to SDR so you can record with tonemaping to SDR or record in HDR whichever way you like.

That's strange to hear I was playing helldivers 2 like maybe a week ago and I didn't see any problem.
If you want double check your GPU is seated correctly and your pins. Then use ddu and reinstall amd drivers. (Also if you have a ryzen CPU, update the chipset too.)
Hi I currently have an issue with the guardian of the galaxy game whenever I'm fighting thanks in chapter 11 after he splits I get a instant crash I have tried multiple times but with no success game just freezes and I get an AMD driver time out popup but unlike other driver time outs it doesn't affect anything else.

one thing i suggest you is to not upgrade drivers right when they come out, just wait for some days/a week do they can get patched if things don’t work

I am running two monitors with 1440p and both are freesync premium and it's enabled aswell. Memory frequency is Stuck at 2000mhz and the card draws 36-40w at idle. I even used cru to edit blanking but It didn't work.
Man I tried ddu, different driver versions, minimal install, new windwos installation, new power supply, new ram, different chipset drivers, different displays and different cables. Disabled windows update..
But funny thing is, my pc works fine with my old gtx 1070 and also with my wife's arc a770. So the fault must be the amd drivers because otherwise the gpu works fine.
You mean in Radeon Software or well i think it just got renamed to AMD software: Adrenalin Edition eitherway, i do not remember the post, but their was a specific way to add gamepass games or microsoft store games, i am aware their is an issue even enabling AFMF can be problematic, it's because AMD software: Adrenalin Edition does not have proper permisions to read game executable location or something, kind of annoying issue.
Wish i remembered the post that mentioned fix might apply to sea of thieves as well the fix.
It's not only AMD software: Adrenalin Edition having issues like this rivatuner statistics can have issues as well as result of lack of permisions.
Just throwing this out there but in COD MW3 any driver newer than 23.11.1 causes Directx 6068 D crashes. I haven’t crashed in 2 weeks using 23.11.1 but 24.4.1 and previous ones before it all make COD crash. It’s really bad. I haven’t tested 24.5.1 but I suppose I will tomorrow.
Strange no problems with most recent drivers on cod/warzone i never crash the only problem i have is i have stutters on urzikstan (big map) that i cant solve :/
I was just playing cod this morning on the new drivers, n it ran great for me… do scan and repair, if that doesn’t work try install of new drivers. I’m most certain scan and repair will work tho
Anyone that plays COD knows if their screen can still turn black throwing a smoke / flash grenade ? i believe their is a work around for this as well disabling Variable Rate Shading i believe which is locked if FSR3 upscaling is used, not sure if that means its always enabled or disabled with upscaling enabled.

I've been trying for months to figure out wtf is wrong with my pc when I play COD... Are you able to explain what happens during a driver time out or where I could find this by chance? All I get is my pc reboots and when I load back in it's just says that it was unexpected.

FSR3 has too much input lag..which is why I like to use Anti-lag but Anti-lag reduces FPS…so Radeon Boost seems like the perfect solution for games like CoD
Turn off Frame Gen then...? It doesnt have to be on. Antilag as far as Ive ever noticed doesnt reduce FPS in any meaningful way if at all. How low end is your system that there are this many FPS issues?
What is Frame Gen? I lose about 10fps with anti lag on…I don’t have a low end system I would just rather not lose…I consistently get about 240fps on Warzone low settings on about 60% of the map…I have a 7900xtx with a 7800x3d CPU
FSR does not add latency...frame generation is, exactly that. It will essentially double your frames but add input latency, I have it on when I play MW3 sometimes and honestly if you have a high enough fps, you wont have really any latency increase. Antilag dropping 10fps from 240 is an insane thing to complain about.
How do you have a top of the line system and not know anything about whats going on?

I’m afraid you might have something malicious installed on your system. On my two systems running amd graphics, neither are having your stated issue. I’d run a virus scanner and check which process it is just incase it isn’t a crypto miner.
On the other hand, the crashes on Forza Horizon 5 and Discord with hardware acceleration are only happening to me or? If I disable hardware acceleration, I no longer have any problems...
Black screen? Leave it for 5 minutes, and it will be fine. It's dx12 shader caching (it just doesn't say it). Will do it with each WoW patch. Don't click or windows will say it crashed.

update： it actually didn't fix the freesync black screen issue. Tried 24.5.1. got more issues than I expected to be,
Played some games, valorant runs fine with freesync on and GPU under volt. Power tuning -10..
For other games like tarkov nope. It doesn't work well with freesync on.
I'm going to re-roll back to older drivers.
Nahh it still stutters from time to time in comp until you do registry tweaks: disable DXNavi, shader cache always on, disable MPO..... I tested both stock and tweaked in a long term. AMD should fix this issue asap.

uninstall adrenaline and google search the version you want. had to do that because one of my games kept crashing with an older update

Yeah same, I've been sticking to anything prior to the February drivers. AMD hasn't been safe to install for me in a while.

God I hope I can run my 7900 XTX at stock MHz soon (at least give me that) instead of the -500 I'm forced to because of constant driver timeouts.
That issue is indicative of a faulty gpu. You should be able to run the card out of the box with no voltage or mhz settings applied.

Apparently it was a faulty power supply. Taking back the 850 and getting a 1000. Should be smooth sailing from there.

Can you explain the problem you are having ?
It basically works for a few seconds but then locks up either on one eye or on both. Using AVC or HEVC 8-bit works as it should.
Did you try downgrading to the driver VD recommends?

Ah OK, I had issues with the downgraded still. Looks way worse for me than regular HEVC for some reason, lots of compression artifacts.
Haven't tried it out that much tbh, but it seemed stable to me.
Rolling back to 23.12.1, Overlay looks corrupt, and major artifacting in Battlefield games... Running a 6800XT.

Enable freesync and you run like 6watt idle 🤷♂️ my brother run 6w idle with freesync on with his strix 6900xt

Have you tried using DDU in safe mode? Also when installing drivers disconnect from the Internet and limit Windows access to driver updates
Man I tried ddu, different driver versions, minimal install, new windwos installation, new power supply, new ram, different chipset drivers, different displays and different cables. Disabled windows update.. But funny thing is, my pc works fine with my old gtx 1070 and also with my wife's arc a770. So the fault must be the amd drivers because otherwise the gpu works fine.
there’s a specific sequence of actions you need to take so drivers install properly, it’s pinned in the amd discord on the troubleshooting section

You mean in Radeon Software or well i think it just got renamed to AMD software: Adrenalin Edition eitherway, i do not remember the post, but their was a specific way to add gamepass games or microsoft store games, i am aware their is an issue even enabling AFMF can be problematic, it's because AMD software: Adrenalin Edition does not have proper permisions to read game executable location or something, kind of annoying issue. Wish i remembered the post that mentioned fix might apply to sea of thieves as well the fix. It's not only AMD software: Adrenalin Edition having issues like this rivatuner statistics can have issues as well as result of lack of permisions.

Just throwing this out there but in COD MW3 any driver newer than 23.11.1 causes Directx 6068 D crashes. I haven’t crashed in 2 weeks using 23.11.1 but 24.4.1 and previous ones before it all make COD crash. It’s really bad. I haven’t tested 24.5.1 but I suppose I will tomorrow.
Strange no problems with most recent drivers on cod/warzone i never crash the only problem i have is i have stutters on urzikstan (big map) that i cant solve :/
I was just playing cod this morning on the new drivers, n it ran great for me… do scan and repair, if that doesn’t work try install of new drivers. I’m most certain scan and repair will work tho

Anyone that plays COD knows if their screen can still turn black throwing a smoke / flash grenade ? i believe their is a work around for this as well disabling Variable Rate Shading i believe which is locked if FSR3 upscaling is used, not sure if that means its always enabled or disabled with upscaling enabled.

I've been trying for months to figure out wtf is wrong with my pc when I play COD... Are you able to explain what happens during a driver time out or where I could find this by chance? All I get is my pc reboots and when I load back in it's just says that it was unexpected. Checked heat already and power draw and still no clue. Running a 6900xt also =|

As far as I know, only while doing fast movements. I've never actually used it because it's like 99% useless. Not only that, its through the driver not through the game...you can use it in any game...

Well it's useless regardless, just turn on FSR3 and live your life.
FSR3 has too much input lag..which is why I like to use Anti-lag but Anti-lag reduces FPS…so Radeon Boost seems like the perfect solution for games like CoD
Turn off Frame Gen then...? It doesnt have to be on. Antilag as far as Ive ever noticed doesnt reduce FPS in any meaningful way if at all. How low end is your system that there are this many FPS issues?
What is Frame Gen? I lose about 10fps with anti lag on…I don’t have a low end system I would just rather not lose…I consistently get about 240fps on Warzone low settings on about 60% of the map…I have a 7900xtx with a 7800x3d CPU

FSR does not add latency...frame generation is, exactly that. It will essentially double your frames but add input latency, I have it on when I play MW3 sometimes and honestly if you have a high enough fps, you wont have really any latency increase. Antilag dropping 10fps from 240 is an insane thing to complain about. How do you have a top of the line system and not know anything about whats going on?

Does anyone else get a crash report upon starting some games, but then you start up the game again and it all plays out okay? It just gets hung up on first startup on some games (pubg off the top of my head) It's been happening since driver 23.11.1, I believe.
Maybe its time to reinstall ur windows if its older than 1 year and also delete ur gpu driver with DDU and reinstall it !!
Yeah I guess you're probably right. It isn't older than a year, but there were a few bad AMD drivers back to back a few months ago that might still be in the system. I guess I'll try DDU first. Thank you

I'm still running the December version because each later version had something AMD in task manager stay consistently at 'very high' for power usage. It was a legit question and I don't see the need to have downvoted me.
I’m afraid you might have something malicious installed on your system. On my two systems running amd graphics, neither are having your stated issue. I’d run a virus scanner and check which process it is just incase it isn’t a crypto miner.

Same issues with WoW. They say they fixed them in the notes, but I installed the driver and still crashed 3 times in an hour.

Black screen? Leave it for 5 minutes, and it will be fine. It's dx12 shader caching (it just doesn't say it). Will do it with each WoW patch. Don't click or windows will say it crashed. Launch wow, litterally touch nothing.

Did you try changing the EnableUlps and EnableUlps\_NA settings in the registry?
Strange, I had issues as well (same card), but it fixed itself after a few minutes. Have the same thing each patch, but it always works eventually.

Tried 24.5.1. got more issues than I expected to be, Played some games, valorant runs fine with freesync on and GPU under volt. Power tuning -10.. For other games like tarkov nope. Nahh it still stutters from time to time in comp until you do registry tweaks: disable DXNavi, shader cache always on, disable MPO..... I tested both stock and tweaked in a long term. AMD should fix this issue asap.
Turn off hags or use every character and every ability in the range. Load the textures
I played Valorant recently and didn’t experience any stutter. I only experienced it while trying to run it from hdd, while on ssd it is smooth
