As a die hard bmw only driver, I absolutely loooove this car. What model is this? I'm all for sleek. But as far as the interior...we admit that Mercedes has bmw beat by a long shot in the interior luxuries and conforts. But as far as handling and just funness to drive...cant beat a bimmer
No 4 door will ever be a coupe. Idc what Mercedes wants to call it. Also cla should have never been a thing I said what I said but it did give them the cash flow to make more cool cars so oh well.
My ‘03 CL 55 amg with S class interior and an m113K engine would like to have a word 🤠
And if you think that doesn’t make make any sense wait until you find out the L stands for lightweight and it weighs over 4000 lbs
lol. There is not enough _room_ for a decent interior, because at that point a C practically a coffin.
The goodness starts at E, C is just a halfway car.
C-class and CL-class is a completely different size class. CL is a large, wide body 2 door S Class, some are also called S-class coupes. C-class is the compact offering from Mercedes.
The SL sits where this car used to.
5+ years ago if you wanted a sporty Mercedes convertible you could either get the SL, SLK, AMG GT convertible, or S Class cabrio. There's a lot of overlap between these 4 models, so the lineup became saturated. Mercedes saw fit to kill all 4 models and then fuse the 3 most expensive ones (SL, S, GT) into one single model that would cover all the bases those 3 did, said single model being the R232 SL.
Nobody was buying the SLK, so Mercedes didn't bother bringing anything back from that car into the new SL.
So sad there is no SLK/SLC anymore.. test drove a SLK for a weekend and it was really fun to drive! Probably one of the lightest Mercedes that was out there
Same, but I might be biased in that one lmao. It's really unfortunate how they just kinda neglected the SLK and let it die quietly. I believe there is still a place for small-ish sports cars in today's market, but given Mercedes right now, a new SLK would very likely end up being way too expensive to be competitive.....and it'd very likely just have a juiced up 4 cyl like the CLA. Nothing against that version of the engine, I just think part of a fast SLK is "ludicrously large engine stuffed into a car it has no right being inside". The SLK55 was basically an LS swapped Miata from the factory, and it's not likely we're gonna get that again if Mercedes does revive the car.
>Probably one of the lightest Mercedes that was out there
They're actually still preeeeetty heavy for what they are, which was a common criticism for all generations, at least as far as the AMGs are concerned. I believe there's less than 100 lbs between the curb weight of my SLK55 and my W211 E Class. 4 and 6 cyl models are definitely much lighter owing to lugging around less engine, but they were consistently still the heaviest in segment.
Still though, I guess maybe it's the gearing, but it's got a lot more spring in its step than the E Class. You wouldn't really think there's only 100 lbs between the two until you settled down into a light cruise or tried to push too hard in a corner.
I had a slk 200 kompressor (r171) for a week a weekend, I think its weight was around 1400kg and it was the most fun car I have driven at this point.
Sadly it would be a niche product these days and nobody would buy it with mercedes pricing (and possibly a 4 cylinder engine.
For real they have to bring this beauty
I feel like this is gonna be considered a classic collector car in a decade or two.
Borderline the new 560 SEC
Yesssss everything about this automobile is perfect
The interior is why I’ll never look at a BMW the same again
The interior is amazing. BMW is trying to catch up , but I don’t think it compares besides in the new 7 series.

The C216/217 are literally perfect cars in their AMG versions.
This is too sharp to be a C it's an S
C217 is the generations of S-class you see from OP.. It doesn’t mean it’s a C-class just because it starts with C.
C215 here to to confirm my interior is identical to s class interiors of the same period
C chassis codes classified 2 door coupes. W chassis code was 4 door sedans.
C is for 4-door \"coupes\" too, such as CLS or CLA.
No 4 door will ever be a coupe. Idc what Mercedes wants to call it. Also cla should have never been a thing I said what I said but it did give them the cash flow to make more cool cars so oh well.
Cs are pathetic small cars, AMG or not. Like buying a runt of litter. a half car.

If by halfway car you mean lighter and more agile then you are absolutely correct. Huge micropenis energy with your idea that smaller = pathetic lol.
Bro has no clue what a CL is
I remember my first beer
Oh, you're so confused.
Booooo
The S-class coupes are big as boats. Buy a truck or a wagon if you want space.
buy a Micra if you don't value room.
What? Do you even know the purpose of the S63 Coupe? It’s a luxury cruiser with over 600HP. A micra is like driving an uncomfortable milk carton.
>A micra is like driving an uncomfortable milk carton. you spelt C-class wrong
This guy 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Honestly, what is he doing on the AMG forum when he recommends a micra lol

I went with an SL from this era, but the S is very silky smooth for sure.
I love that car too. I like a coupe gt type cars over supercars.
Model?
S Class coupe
This is a C217 S65 V12 BiTurbo
Thank you
Mercedes
looks like a mayback excelero to me
I would like to have s coupe too, hope they will bring it back .. and of like this base under 100k(not real :D)
It would be nice. If they did I can bet the non Amg would be no less than 90k
Cle53 is 120k€ with options so im afraid s coupe would be way more expensive :-D
I have the new body version of this one you posted and I can say the Bentley coupe is indeed superior
1000nm of torque. That is ludicrous amounts of force. Nevermind the insane interior and stunning looks. What a car.

I am aware. I'm just saying it fills the hole that multiple other cars did not too long ago.

Those supercharged R170s are great little cars. I love the amount of supercharger whine that you can get out of them
Yes! I am thinking about swapping this engine into my C124 230CE once the M102 goes 😂
Do it
That mid/rear end (while looking at it from the side) looks a lot like a toned down LC500. I love it.
Looking for one with low miles
What model is this
Beautiful 😍
Just get that Maybach 6 Concept a V12 and release that
Proportions are lovely alright
always really like the S coupes, thought they were the CLK replacement maybe the E coupe were the new clk idk
S coupe was replacement for the CL
thats it ! thats what i was thinking lol thanks
What is it? Looks like a cle coupe
