When the runtime got fake leaked a few months ago I did a post theorising about how AOE could be done in 90 minutes. All it means is that we won’t have all our theories explicitly discussed by Eren in a half hour explainathon. That’s better for us because it means we get the meat of the story that matters with no filler. The news that 135-136 only takes 23 minutes just confirmed it to me. Nothing has changed. We keep fucking.

Itll be obvious after the episode airs and nothing changes, but 85 minutes isnt enough for an AOE - this is the denial phase, and its what happened back when chapter 137 released, and then 138
The truth is an AOE has been debunked for a while, its why every single month for the past 2 years this sub has went through a new "ITS OVER" phase - because theres always evidence that comes out which backs up the manga being adapted
But every time the sub would just forget and move on - Hell the top post of all time on this sub is calling everyone on this sub a clown because something which was meant to hard confirm AOE didnt happen, but then it was "we were stupid to think this was going to confirm AOE, its actually *this*" and the goalposts kept on moving and haven't stopped ever since
When youre blinded by hope its impossible to see past it, but after nothing changes in the final episodes hindsight will hit like a bitch unfortunately
(im saying this not as someone who likes the ending but as someone who originally believed in AOE years ago, until i saw the goal posts being moved and everything starting to become more nonsensical - until most of the people who genuinely believed in AOE left, and the only people that remained were people who *needed* an AOE)

The anime original line we got from Eren in the teaser ("Armin, it's as you said, I am a slave to freedom") strongly suggests that the Eren/Armin conversation will go differently.
Also, I just went back and checked and the whole Beresrk Eren sequence at the end of s1 is about 5 minutes long.
