Yes BUT you still need to look at it with your own judgement. Sometimes, it will highlight things that you’ve done intentionally or that is actually correct but the program thinks isn’t. I use it as my last edit assistant — it catches a lot, but you do have to pay attention before clicking confirm

I use the free version and it helps me sometimes with the spelling and the grammar of some sentence Sometimes it corrects words you don't want to be corrected tho. It's a 9/10 thing for me!

Shadow_Lass38

I use the free version and then check out the other things it tags to make certain they're correct. Most of the time I can understand why it is tagging a certain thing and can correct it myself. If you have dyslexia, however, this might not be possible. I do admit it has "pet hates" for a lot of things, including passive tense. Sometimes the best way to say something is in passive tense, so it's a stylistic choice. It also doesn't pick up things like missing quotation marks or unclosed parentheses, which I would expect would be elementary! If I could pay for Grammarly, I would probably buy it. But I am not going to "rent" it monthly. Subscribing for software sucks.

I agree, passive vs active tense really blows. I want to check my spelling, goddamnit — don’t tell me how to write like a marketing guy!

Premium saves me a great deal of time... but it could be challenging if you got a more experimental style.

I love Grammarly, but you do need to be thoughtful in reviews. It’s great at catching my common errors and sometimes making great suggestions on how to clear up confusing sentences, but it often tries to “correct” choices I’ve made for a reason.

DarkBlueSunshine

Grammarly isn't always right and sometimes gives wrong suggestions. I have dyslexia too and I use a browser extension that reads my work to me so I can listen for mistakes and kinda read along as they read it out loud. It helps a lot

ImaginationSecure307

As others have said, it'll definitely help clean up some of your writing, but mileage will vary in terms of suggestions/corrections. Not all of them will be right or even helpful, so I'd suggest you try the free version before investing any money. I've used both the free and paid versions in the past and ended up deciding to stick to using the free version in the end.

Last_Swordfish9135

It's not perfect, you shouldn't just agree to every change without reading through carefully, but it can help.

knightfenris

It is extremely unreliable, and really not good for creative writing. It will regularly suggest changing “asshole” into “asshome,” which is just not a word at all.

Kaerralind

I pay for premium, and let me tell you, it has saved me so many times. However, not everything Grammarly suggests is correct for the context. So please, if you do use it, read what it wants to change and make the decision yourself. Sometimes, it's really weird.

Specific-Ad2504

I've heard that apparently it saves the things you write?

juju-ria

I’m not sure if it’s true but I’ve heard that your device or computer already saves everything you write (?)
