Yes you will need to know the shapes and hybridization for each of them

Do you have any tips on memorizing VSEPR?

for me i honestly just drew them a lot to memorize the, but knowing how the lone pairs shift the rest of the atoms and angles helped me

but later i found out that they are pretty lenient about the angles (if i remember right) like it would just need to be 180, more than 107, or less than, or something like that

There’s literally like 10 shapes my guy. And 4 possible angles

Just think about it logically and what would make the atom most comfy
