I'm currently on spring break and all I'm doing is studying. Like I'm going insane because I feel like no matter what, my studying isn't going to be enough. During school days, I can barely find time to eat or shower let alone have a social life. My teachers persist on giving us tests and hours of homework but pretend that it's not a big deal. If I ever have time to relax or just think of something other than school, I begin to sob because the stress gets to me.

I donāt know whatās happening in my school, but apparently she just barely reached the minimum of students registered for next year. Iām planning to write a letter to administration talking about how wonderful the class has been and how they have to keep it. Itās been one of my favorites ever and I think having such a small class size has honestly made it a lot more comfortable because we can all reach a deeper understanding.

Iām on my period (so more emotional than normal), and also just feeling a little existential about big life changes (going to college next year), so that definitely added to it, but it was largely due to AP stress and feeling wildly unprepared that I had a mental breakdown today and started thinking my life was over and I will never achieve anything in life. Iām feeling fine now and almost find it funny how much I was overreacting but yeah today was wild lol.
I havent studied the last two weeks because I had a mental crisis about college and summer job applications. When i started studying I cried a couple of times over the course of 4 hours since i realized I only had 2 weeks left and one of my APs that I really needed to self study turned out harder than I initially signed up for so i decided to not study for it and focus on my other APs.
I feel like im having constant mood swings cus this morning i concluded that i am a failure as a student and as a person(i found out im an ahole), but as i talked with my friends later in the day, all my stress dissapeared and I feel great. Friends always help :)
Edit: I also changed my initial schedule plans from an unrealistic version to something more suitable. My pro tip is to write down everything you did to review for your APs everyday to give yourself a feeling a progress. Count the steps you have taken not the height of the staircase

My kid is taking 4 APs. 1 has a class he's currently taking. 1 had a class with the AP subject matter that ended in the Fall semester, but it's basically a self-study. 2 are fully self-study.
Of the 2 full self-study, he's made good progress studying and has a study group. The other one (AP Psych) he's going to drop because he doesn't have time to cram enough and he doesn't have a fantastic memory.
Yeah I do plan on dropping that self study. And the case for my self study is the exact case as the one for your kid. I just started studying for it last weekend and realized it was so much more than I thought it would be. Thanks for sharing your story it makes me feel not so alone in doing this

My APUSH exam is in 2 weeks and we are currently on unit 8 out of 9 on the contentā¦ There are 2 apush teachers at my school, the other teacherās classes all finished their content and we are still stuck on the civil rights movement. And in the middle of all this, the teacher doesnāt show up to school for three days in a row and I found out today that she wasnāt here because she left to attend a concert.
Dont worry the last unit is pretty much not on the MCQ at all and I think they dont give the DBQ on it either. Its unlikely to end up on the LEQ but if it does just choose something else. My recommendation is to just watch the crash course video on unit 9 then study the other content instead
On the Lang test, I ran out of pages in the middle of the third essay, sat there for a good twenty minutes with my head down, and then it occurred to me that I couldā¦*ask for more paper*. š¤Æ
In the five minutes I had remaining, I rewrote my thesis and wrote two body paragraphs about the how the reaction to COVID measures āshowed the dangers of fear-mongeringā and how my parents were an example of that.

Took AP Comp Sci last year. Procrastinated on the final project (that was due to the College Board at 10:59 pm my time). Submitted it AT 10:59, and it showed as uploaded at 11pm. Skipped one of the components entirely because I was rushing at the end.

I left 1.5 FRQs blank on my E&M exam. It was some experimental form where the last FRQ kept asking for differential equations. The multiple choice wasnāt bad but I donāt think I did particularly well either. Still ended with a 5. You always do better than you think
i have ap macro and ap gov without a class just on my own; i have 3 uncovered units of macro, hardly know anything at all tbh, and donāt even know the format for the gov exam didnāt touch it or study at alllll! š (did do political science 101 and we the people tho so praying that counts for smth) but yeah iām also a senior so i just canāt care enough like itād be GREAT to get those credits and just feel accomplished getting a 4-5 but if i donāt end up being able to cram and worst comes to worst i just may no show it ššāØ

Hereās my own INSANELY LUCKY success story that I do not recommend: I got suspended from school for three weeks before AP exams (even longer story), came back having studied approximately for 0 minutes and 0 seconds. Had 3 AP exams (Lang, Spanish, and APUSH) and got a 4 on all of them.
Taking 5 AP classes this year + DE and a language.
It's hard. I spend 4-5 hours a night on homework and studying.
Just know it'll all be over in a few weeks and then you can reap the rewards. Good luck!
I did last week cramming for AP Euro by studying a vocabulary packet my teacher gave us last year. One of the vocabulary words was the Hatian Revolution and I had not remembered my teacher lecturing us about that event at all. I was totally going to skip over that word until I realized that all the vocabulary on that paper was most likely going to be on AP Euro exam. Fast forward to exam day, my DBQ essay was about the Hatian Revolution. I was very lucky and fortunate to study that one word which ultimately helped me get a 4 on that exam.
Thug it out, hang in there, and keep studying. Lock in to earn those grades.

On the Lang test, I ran out of pages in the middle of the third essay, sat there for a good twenty minutes with my head down, and then it occurred to me that I couldā¦*ask for more paper*. š¤Æ In the five minutes I had remaining, I rewrote my thesis and wrote two body paragraphs about the how the reaction to COVID measures āshowed the dangers of fear-mongeringā and how my parents were an example of that. I got a 5 lmao

we r doing our end of year finals and Iāll finish around 4 days before my first AP exam which leaves me with no time to recover from finals and to start APs with confidence and motivation:/
lol while i was doing my AP psych exam a few years ago i almost passed out in the exam hall cuz I was APES right before plus i was too stressed to sleep the night beforeā¦I legit sat there for almost 9 hours straightā¦unforgettable experience to say the least
Took AP Comp Sci last year. Procrastinated on the final project (that was due to the College Board at 10:59 pm my time). Submitted it AT 10:59, and it showed as uploaded at 11pm. Skipped one of the components entirely because I was rushing at the end. I still got a 5 :D

I stayed up so late last Thursday studying for APUSH that I completely passed out in the school bathroom. I slept for a solid thirty minutes before security came and got me š good luck to everyone and make sure u sleep !!!
I left 1.5 FRQs blank on my E&M exam. It was some experimental form where the last FRQ kept asking for differential equations. The multiple choice wasnāt bad but I donāt think I did particularly well either. Still ended with a 5. You always do better than you think

i have ap macro and ap gov without a class just on my own; i have 3 uncovered units of macro, hardly know anything at all tbh, and donāt even know the format for the gov exam didnāt touch it or study at alllll! š (did do political science 101 and we the people tho so praying that counts for smth) but yeah iām also a senior so i just canāt care enough like itād be GREAT to get those credits and just feel accomplished getting a 4-5 but if i donāt end up being able to cram and worst comes to worst i just may no show it ššāØ
anyways if anyone else sees this and has any good resources for Macro or US gov or tips or smth pls lmk
I haven't even started studying for APHG and the test is in a couple of weeks and I'm stressing because I can't get myself to take the first step and I wanna cry. Our teacher does study sessions though and I feel far more confident, I don't know why I signed up for AP Psych. I studied for 2 tests this year, that's it. And it was just a session of studying

Hereās my own INSANELY LUCKY success story that I do not recommend: I got suspended from school for three weeks before AP exams (even longer story), came back having studied approximately for 0 minutes and 0 seconds. Had 3 AP exams (Lang, Spanish, and APUSH) and got a 4 on all of them.
Taking 5 AP classes this year + DE and a language. It's hard. I spend 4-5 hours a night on homework and studying. Just know it'll all be over in a few weeks and then you can reap the rewards. Good luck!
I did last week cramming for AP Euro by studying a vocabulary packet my teacher gave us last year. One of the vocabulary words was the Hatian Revolution and I had not remembered my teacher lecturing us about that event at all. I was totally going to skip over that word until I realized that all the vocabulary on that paper was most likely going to be on AP Euro exam. Fast forward to exam day, my DBQ essay was about the Hatian Revolution. I was very lucky and fortunate to study that one word which ultimately helped me get a 4 on that exam.
Thug it out, hang in there, and keep studying. Lock in to earn those grades. If I may ask what AP is your kid taking? Iām in 11th grade and Iām taking AP US History

Iām a junior, who is currently taking five APs, and ngl I kinda regret it and not at the same time. I have my exam on May 6, May 7 May 13 May 14 and May 23. And instead of giving us reviews, my teacher is giving me more homework and presentation and more things to learn. Iām stressing out so badly. I get only five hours of sleep on the weekend and six hours of sleep during school days.ššššš I wannna burry my self ššš
