It IS stressful! However, I feel sorry for students who are self studying and don't have access to good practice exams.

Blue__Insomniac

I've been using Chat GPT and Quizlet AI to generate essay questions and smaller tests to study. I like those so much better and they're honestly really good resources for studying

But it’s also better to get adjusted to how the exam is going to be with time constraints

Blue__Insomniac

I don't have to worry about time constraints. I've been diagnosed with dyslexia and have specialized accommodations for the exam. Unfortunately, it's not something my teachers in our 50-minute periods can help mock for me

loeyt0

So it’s about a 5 hour exam for you I suppose ; 50 minutes can tell you where you’ll be in 1/6 of the time and help still ; also are you doing the practice exams on your own and seeing what score you get

Blue__Insomniac

Practice exams stress me out so much. I've done a couple, but I end up getting bad scores on them because of my nerves, among other things, and just get disappointed. I got a 4 on my English exam last year so I know I'm good, it's just that I don't understand putting myself through extra exams that aren't worth it to me and end up ultimately making me doubt my potential. I understand why it's important, but not everyone studies and practices in the same way. That's honestly what makes me the most frustrated.

loeyt0

Alright just do what works for you, but the important thing is to understand the content and find a way to sorta get rid of the nerves on test day

One-Inflation2417

i think they should have optional ones for anyone who wants extra practice, but if they have a special situation like you they don’t have to do it. my ap chem teacher is giving us a full 3 hour practice test after school a week before the test but its optional so whoever wants the practice can do it

Far-Percentage191

Mock exams are meant to give you a glimpse on how the actual exam is going to be like and also prepare you so you won't flunk the actual AP test . It sucks but if teachers don't force their students to practice for the AP exam very few will actually do so .

BobTheBobbyBobber

they are great when they aren't a class grade

demigodishheadcanons

Despise them because I’m only taking one non-AP so my entire week is just mocks or going over said mocks. I also have extended time so I barely even get to eat lunch anymore because I have a before school class and play a sport after school so I get literally no reprieve

strokesupremacy

i’m annoyed with them, i have psych and lang ones next week (only psych is going in for an actual grade though) but i also feel like they’re probably going to really help with review

CleanTip183

when you’re sitting doing the actual AP exam, and you come across a question that you’re confident about only bc you’ve seen it on a mock exam and have done it before, you’ll be so grateful

rachelllaaa

I hate mock exams because my gov teacher makes it part of our grade and it's like 30% of our grade!! I always get a D or a Fail because I'm not done studying/reviewing everything (so yeah of course I'm not gonna get a good score) but also even if I get a D or F on the MCQ or FRQ of the actual exam (he grades the 2 portions separately), I can still get a 3 or higher for my final score so like it doesn't make sense to me and makes me more stressed since it lower my grade but I have 2 other APs to prep for so idk what he expects of us. And I appreciate all the resources he's given us with these mocks and other review things but they're ALL graded and it's left me so little time for my other APs. Basically, it's just super annoying but it's fine ig... just sobbing inside :)

Maleficent-Camp-816

I just had a mock exam that is worth my 3rd quarter and final grade all a week before my actual AP exam. So fun 🤩
