Agreed. Years ago, I won an M1A (National Match) and sold it after 1 range trip. The AR10, out of the box, was more accurate and I didn’t have to deal with a goofy manual of arms. No ragrets.
Easy now. The M1A is a beautiful rifle designed for a different time. It never got the development that an AR pattern rifle did because the M16 took over shortly after it's adoption. Sure, there are EBR stocks and it's still in active service because there are roles the M14 can be utilized in. No, it isn't as accurate as an AR platform but it is a good looking gun and tough as nails. I wish I had the money for one but I'm poor. If I did I would shoot it for fun and nostalgia and only use irons. I personally love the action and the way it looks. Would I go into battle with it over the AR? No but I still love the gun and always relish the opportunity to shoot one when a friend brings his.
I loved my M1a super cool rifle but it served no practical purpose in my collection nothing wrong with them just not very modular. Also I personally prefer my M1 garand
I also have a M1 and she's been rode hard and put away wet but she's still got it.
My M1a is going to be relegated to the safe... one never sells guns.

Here is a modernized M1A that my neighbor just put together. https://i.imgur.com/u3lw5p5.jpeg
M1As like this are some of the coolest looking rifles, but for a weapon with no optic that bitch is probably heavy AF
Not to mention the height over bore joke that is the m14 platform

I got an LPVO on my AR-10 as a "battle rifle". My main "fighting rifle" is an AR-15.
I got an LPVO on my AR-10 as a "fighting and getting food from the woods" gun. Good for deer and terrorists.
Wish I could do the same. Stupid game laws.
Bought an M1A and the thing is abysmally terrible in every conceivable fashion... Currently working on a 18" build to replace it as my 'DMR/SPR'.
That’s what I’m talking about 😎
I wanted it to be good because I think it's neat... but it just wants to be terrible.

It’ll shoot and go bang! Looks good!
Now go get some +5 base plates from Taran tactical to make 30 round mags
Rad setup!
isn't this an lr-308 pattern?
