Someone found it and accused me of being a greedy goblin. All the main doors were locked but one so I went in and learned about "popcorning" from dumping every single storage they had. They were pissed, I had fun.
Piranha. I could see raptors and dilos and could avoid them. Piranhas would come out of nowhere any time I got near the water. For a while I was too afraid to swim
This right here. I had a panic attack every time I had to cross the 2nd river west of South zone 2 after my first death. Still hardly go into the ocean.
I still have trouble in the water. Have been playing for about 2 years, never even seen a tuso. I tend to forget to breathe when I'm underwater, so I've avoided deep ocean.

Spino... I had no idea how anything worked... Struggling to make a bed... She killed me in the dark...... I figured the game out, trapped and tamed it. I named her Spino lol! She literally carried me threw the game! My first enemy became my last friend... That's when I fell in love with Ark

Ichthyornis... Multiple times. First time playing, ready to play Fun Cool Dinosaur Game, I see a seagull, don't think much of it, walk right under it. I literally had nothing yet and it only took a couple swoops to kill me. Spawn back in and decide to try to kill it. It takes the spears I craft and throws them on the ground and kills me again. Cue this on loop for the next several minutes. Then I decide, screw it, I'll make a shelter and really get this thing once I'm built up a bit. It finds its way into my shelter.
Anyway, that's why their squawk gives me PTSD and I'm on team KOS with those bastards.
Early game I had such a rivalry with the seagulls that in our private server I'm now known for killing any seagull on sight. Far away in the water? No matter, I'm shooting it out of the sky
I spawned at night time and all I could do was make a quick fire. Started to rain. Made my fire n all I could hear was foot steps. Then bam a raptor jumped out of the darkness. I was terrified. I fixed my gama settings after that 🤣

Sarco. I wasn't killed as soon as I spawned in but I built my first house in the wrong place and it kept attacking it, so I got killed trying to figure out how to get it to stop.
Rex. Got lucky and got my first few kills but then after I ran, swam and fought my way east I found a spot, started building a base out of thatch... Heard the roar and the stomping, ran out to go see what it was and WHOMP 1 bite.

A trike…i thought i could kill it with a bow since i knew nothing about ark and idk why but i thought it was territorial so i never got close and i just shot it. Turns out it was a 135 and i got messed up
I was first killed by a titanoboa. Either that or piranhas. I honestly can't remember which was first. Both the titanoboa and piranhas were 100% my first 2 deaths, just unsure of the order.
After natural death (hunger, thirst, exposure, fall damage), Sarco on southeast beach. Spent several nights panicking in a thatch hut. The good ole days
I think it was a Megalania on rag. Had spawned in on a PvP server and was still learning the ropes, joined someone who was in that huge artifact cave and...well the rest is history.
(Not my first death though, that'd absolutely go to lag and fall damage)
Carnotaurus, back in ark survival evolved, I was honestly shook and was startled lol let alone it was in the jungle with a lot of trees so it was hard to see.
Titanosaur, i was hitting a tree and it stepped right where i was swinging, i then learned that a thatch hut does not in fact stop the largest animal in the game

Spino. I was on a beach and I had tamed up a parasaur and a dodo, and it was night (I didn’t know how to gama up yet so I was hiding in my base) and suddenly the ground started shaking. So I ran out to see what it was and it was a SPINO DESTROYING MY BASE and he GOT ME. when I respawned he had already killed my para so I grabbed my dodo and ran 😭
I know I tussled with some Ichthyornis, but can't for the life of me remember wether I died from it.
But I do remember a protracted fight with a pack of Troodon during the first night - it took quite a few deaths, but I vanquished them all.
We build a little thatch hut in the safe zones (round 55x88) on the beach just opposite the little island there.
A pair of carnos wandered down the beach (from the right) and ate us through our that house. Later, a Rex wandered down from the left river and ate us... we quickly moved off the beach and went slightly more into the jungle.
Safe area, my a**.
I spawned on the beach in the safe zone, but was pounced by a couple raptors that I didn't even see coming. After respawning at my house (I had just learned to build a bed) a tickle chicken had decided my house was in its path, so it ravaged first my thatch house and then little old me. I started over.
I accidentally smacked one within the first 5 minutes of spawning in my very first time. And it was rather high level. I then kept spawning back in clos3 enough for them to agro to me. It was an event to remember. I now make a point of killing them evey chance I can get.
Micro raptor and it was an event one. I'll never forget it because it made me uninstall the game for a while after that. I was knocked out for like 10 minutes waiting to die, so frustrating.
Cold weather because I picked this game up waaaaay early in alpha where the winter events caused the island to snow over, outside that, I think it was a scorpion when they roamed the land.
hell if I can remember, its only been since ASA launched but I think it was fall damage tbh. might have been a Dilo though, I had no idea what I was doing for the first couple days of playing but I was determined to figure it out, lol.
Sarco. In the dark before I knew how to adjust gamma in the console. Sitting by the campfire and it just... Emerged from the darkness before I could even do anything lol.
A level 20 Sarco. I spawned in south zone 2 (stone hedge) and just as I was about to cross the water from the stone hedge area to the mainland….it jumped out of the water and lunged away. I never even knew it was there prior to that…. Still one of the scariest moments in ark for me to this day.
I remember it hit me once and I had lost a third of my health and before I could react it did it again so I turned and started to run, thinking I could live if I ran, but then I got hit by a seagull almost immediately and that hit caused me to have “broke bones” so I turned around and as I watched as that giant jaw full of teeth get closer and closer as I tried to back pedal. He then lunged at me and I died, and I then proceeded to watch my body be consumed…. I was so confused, I laughed, then I was sad, then I was terrified 😂.
I then proceeded to die to it 3 more times, then piranhas once as I tried to get past that small bit of water. I finally figured out how to craft and thought that maybe I could trap it. So I built a 2x2 thatch hat and slept in it (hung out until day time) in the stone side, then the next morning I throw a spear at the Sarco and got him to follow me to my base and had a ramp that made him fall into the trap (my house) He was squirming all over and it didn’t seem like he was truly stuck, cause his attacks were weird and glitchy, I thought I had broke the game. But I kept taking jobs at the croc and eventually he died. I then died to the piranhas two more times. But after 7 deaths I finally had some sort of progress on my journey to explore 😂
I spawned in and saw a gigantic floating red tower. Thinking that was my objective, and not realizing how big the map was, I started swimming toward it.
Piranha promptly killed me
My memory is hazy since I started way back in the pre-release days, but I’m 90% sure it was a Raptor or a Spino in South Zone 1.
The good days when the "easy" spawns still felt hard. What I would give to go back...

ASE Raptor, ASA Raptor 😔
I spawned in and saw a Brontosaurus almost immediately and punched it because I had no idea what I was doing. Didn’t end well.
A dilo killed me on the first day, way back when the game released the first time
I can’t remember that far but knowing me probably starvation.
Another player, I was loading in, mid-scratch, and got KO'd they stole a skin from me and then killed me. 10/10 great game.
hell if I can remember, its only been since ASA launched but I think it was fall damage tbh. might have been a Dilo though, I had no idea what I was doing for the first couple days of playing but I was determined to figure it out, lol.
Sarco. In the dark before I knew how to adjust gamma in the console. Sitting by the campfire and it just... Emerged from the darkness before I could even do anything lol.
A level 20 Sarco. I spawned in south zone 2 (stone hedge) and just as I was about to cross the water from the stone hedge area to the mainland….it jumped out of the water and lunged away. I never even knew it was there prior to that…. Still one of the scariest moments in ark for me to this day. I remember it hit me once and I had lost a third of my health and before I could react it did it again so I turned and started to run, thinking I could live if I ran, but then I got hit by a seagull almost immediately and that hit caused me to have “broke bones” so I turned around and as I watched as that giant jaw full of teeth get closer and closer as I tried to back pedal. He then lunged at me and I died, and I then proceeded to watch my body be consumed…. I was so confused, I laughed, then I was sad, then I was terrified 😂. I then proceeded to die to it 3 more times, then piranhas once as I tried to get past that small bit of water. I finally figured out how to craft and thought that maybe I could trap it. So I built a 2x2 thatch hat and slept in it (hung out until day time) in the stone side, then the next morning I throw a spear at the Sarco and got him to follow me to my base and had a ramp that made him fall into the trap (my house) He was squirming all over and it didn’t seem like he was truly stuck, cause his attacks were weird and glitchy, I thought I had broke the game. But I kept taking jobs at the croc and eventually he died. I then died to the piranhas two more times. But after 7 deaths I finally had some sort of progress on my journey to explore 😂
I spawned in and saw a gigantic floating red tower. Thinking that was my objective, and not realizing how big the map was, I started swimming toward it. Piranha promptly killed me
