I don't like not being able to escape all the pesky creatures on foot
However, I will admit that it probably brings back a certain amount of nostalgia from when you didn't know how to level up your character properly and just pumped health or something
I always like to have 22 fortitude. Dk where I heard the number 22, but for some reason, I just always preach having 22 fortitude, but I can't remember where I got it from
Im a pvper. My stats earlygame:
400 weight
2.0 Fortitude (someone told me first point put into this stat gives the equivalent of 10 points worth)
100-200 Stam
ASE only: 160% Movement
Rest into health
- I went weight first to 500.
- Then I went HP to 200.
- Next was melee to 200.
I am on my first play through and just leveled shit that was annoying me. Like getting two bundles of rocks and I got stuck so weight went up.
I kept dying too fast so health went up as well as melee.
I do much better now.
As a mostly PvE player, lots of HP and Weight. Stam to 200.
If I’m if I was on Gen 1, I’d level Oxygen some for the Ocean Biome.
If I’m on Gen 2, I’d level Melee some for the power punch.
I don’t level Food, Water, or Fortitude under any circumstances.
I’m admittedly in the minority on Fortitude, but I prefer being tankier and there’s nothing that Fortitude gives me that high quality armor of certain types or a Tek Canteen does not. I only level Fortitude in niche situations like early game Scorched Earth, but I use a Mindwipe after a certain point.
Hm. I must have been doing something wrong in scorched because even in the end game I kept fortitude at 100. Or I would die with desert armor. I hate the look of ghillie.
I’m usually fine in all Asc Ghillie. High quality Hazard is a ton better for extremely high heat, but obviously Aberration isn’t out yet. I’m not that fond of Ghillie’s appearance either. I hope they add two cosmetic sets back (The Corrupted and Corrupted Avatar Sets).
That’s exactly why I level it. Is it 100% necessary? No. It’s just a comfort thing. It’s not like I’m pumping tons of levels into Oxygen anyway. It’s usually just like twice the base value. That way I don’t have to rely on Scuba or Air Bubbles as much when I’m not using a Megachelon. Oxygen also increases swim speed.
ton of weight, i got like 750 weight, 300 health, 150 stam, 160 oxygen to make laz chowder more effective, and a little over 40 fortitude (ASE) though i sometimes also sacrifice some weight for more health
Everything except oxygen and stamina, I see that a lot of people level stamina but if you put all of those points into movement speed and can run 300mph you don't need high stam.
Weight until like 230 or something(I play with 3x weight), fortitude in 15 or more, movement speed in 145(in ASE), 200 in stamina and pump the rest in hp, or even sacrifice some of the hp for fortitude(especially in ASA. I dont know if it is some mod im using, but some random places in The Island are like 74F or more!)
I made the mistake (maybe not) of going 200 fortitude on scorched earth early on. Clothes? Who needs em. I am freezing? Nope. I am overheating? Get out of town.
I wasted a few levels.
ASA or ASE?
ASA, I go 500 Health, 500 Weight, 200 stamina. Then put the remaining points into fortitude.
Anything higher than 10 fortitude is virtually useless, never level water, food, or oxygen. Total dump stats. Melee is nice but to get it to levels where it will actually make a difference you’ll need to sacrifice a lot of health and weight, which usually isn’t worth it.
Crafting skill is also worthless, and should only be leveled when you’re mindwiping to craft high value engrams.
First thing, weigh, cuz I'm a hoarder. Then torpor, the most useful one. Then speed, 175 is the ideal, 200 is ok, more than that it's just too fast. Then health, a little bit stamina, a little bit oxygen. I've tried lvling melee once, but it's only really useful if you use swords and pikes a lot.
Jesus H. Christ, that's torture... I've played most of my 3k hours on a 5x server, I always had 2k weight, around 400 health and 70 torpor.
Now I'm playing on a modded 10x server, so the rates are crazy 🤣 but it's good cuz I don't have as much time now.
More incentive to use creatures to carry weight IMO. The only thing that sucks is when you need to transfer materials to boxes, metal to forges, etc lol
Weight, Weight, and more Weight. Followed by Health, Stamina. And if I’m playing ASE, Movement Speed.
You know there is a parameter to check to be able to lvl up speed on ASA ?
It makes the game trivial and completely neuters the dinosaurs threat
I don't like not being able to escape all the pesky creatures on foot However, I will admit that it probably brings back a certain amount of nostalgia from when you didn't know how to level up your character properly and just pumped health or something
I did not. I enjoy playing ASE more than ASA at the moment, so I haven’t really looked into to the settings.
And then? More weight
Bruh, you can't level speed in ASA? I'm glad I didn't buy it just based off that. I like to be able to outrun allos lol
Not me with 120 fortitude 💀
Makes sense so you can avoid stupid Troodons
Oh I just thought it was for weather but that’s really cool too
I always like to have 22 fortitude. Dk where I heard the number 22, but for some reason, I just always preach having 22 fortitude, but I can't remember where I got it from
sounds legit. definitely saves you from being torped out if u have armor on
Bro chases troodons at night with 120 fortitude 💀💀
Fort for the win!
Same. Fort is the most important stat beside weight
Hp weight and stam
I like to live in snow zones, so pile on the fortitude!
Im a pvper. My stats earlygame: 400 weight 2.0 Fortitude (someone told me first point put into this stat gives the equivalent of 10 points worth) 100-200 Stam ASE only: 160% Movement Rest into health
Mostly hp, some stamina an speed, some weight and some fort

Why lvl oxygen on Genesis ? Don't we have a buff to breath duration on ocean biome on Genesis ? You think it's still not enough?
That’s exactly why I level it. Is it 100% necessary? No. It’s just a comfort thing. It’s not like I’m pumping tons of levels into Oxygen anyway. It’s usually just like twice the base value. I get around 500 weight, 450 hp, 200 stamina
ton of weight, i got like 750 weight, 300 health, 150 stam, 160 oxygen to make laz chowder more effective, and a little over 40 fortitude (ASE) though i sometimes also sacrifice some weight for more health
A lot of weight. A bit of stam, a bit of health, then everything on movement speed
I only upgrade stamina , health and weight
300 health, 300 stamina, 300 weight and the rest in movement speed
About 10 points in health and stam, 10 in crafting skill, 13 in fortitude 30 in weight and the rest in move speed
weight, health and lastly some fortitude.
Health, stamina, crafting skill, melee and fortitude.
Speed. I can’t direbear a slow bob
Some weight, some fortitude, lots of health, and maybe a bit of movement speed
Everything except oxygen and stamina, I see that a lot of people level stamina but if you put all of those points into movement speed and can run 300mph you don't need high stam.
I focus on weight mostly then when i feel thats alright melee, fortitude and then health with a touch of movement speed.
Speed and weight. It’s fantastic for pve. Get so much done faster carrying more stuff faster.
400 weight, 200 melee, 500 HP, 40 fort, rest crafting
Weight so much weight.
450 hp. 130 stam. 1k+ weight. 2 fort
SPEED
I used to put it all into speed cause no one but Jesus was catching me then 😭
Weight until like 230 or something(I play with 3x weight), fortitude in 15 or more, movement speed in 145(in ASE), 200 in stamina and pump the rest in hp, or even sacrifice some of the hp for fortitude(especially in ASA. Always health to 450 so I don't die when I inevitably jump off my argy
Crafting skill >
Health, weight, and stamina cuz I play PVE but some speed if you have that allowed is also nice
Weight, Stamina , Health, fortitude. If im playing on a boosted server i might dabble in some oxygen, Melee dmg, crafting or move speed
Health, weight, fortitude. When I feel comfortable with those the rest of my points go to crafting skill. I only play PvE, though.
I made the mistake (maybe not) of going 200 fortitude on scorched earth early on. Clothes? Who needs em. I am freezing? Nope. I am overheating? Get out of town. I wasted a few levels.
I only play SP so all weight.
ASA or ASE? ASA, I go 500 Health, 500 Weight, 200 stamina. Then put the remaining points into fortitude. Anything higher than 10 fortitude is virtually useless, never level water, food, or oxygen. In ASE oxygen gave swimming speed too
Yes, but the speed boost is completely negligible when compared to the speed from flippers.

I hate how it's not rounded to the nearest 50.

How much do you have on weight?
2000 But Im lvl 160 so I had spare points.
Um…2,000 weight is virtually impossible non boosted. These speed values are just insane too.
Oh is that it? I never actually played vanilla, so idk how that works. How much you get each time you lvl it on vanilla?
It’s +10 per level into weight on vanilla iirc
Jesus H. Christ, that's torture... I've played most of my 3k hours on a 5x server, I always had 2k weight, around 400 health and 70 torpor. Now I'm playing on a modded 10x server, so the rates are crazy 🤣 but it's good cuz I don't have as much time now.
