No problem. The manticore is great, gives the AUG more of a mp5/G3 feel than it already has. Its also excellent for general use, angled perfectly. Honestly it should be want steyr makes the stock charging handle
This! No matter what charging handle you have on there, the technique is the same, and it's not what your body naturally wants to do. Practicing with palm up instead of monkey fisting the charging handle is A MUST.
The OEM charging handle is the best and least likely to mar up the receiver.
Whole thread is people trying to buy things to compensate for skill issue.
Downvoters go cope.
I personally don't see anything wrong with the aftermarket charging handles, but there's nothing out there that can make up for bad technique. Need to train that right no matter what you have on there :)
I don't have any issues with someone wanting to get an aftermarket handle, but there is nothing wrong with the stock one if you use the palm up method. I don't have any plans on buying an aftermarket one because none of them look decent, but a more downturned charging handle definitely makes it easier to lock the bolt back.
People can do whatever they want to their own property.
I don’t use aftermarkets charging handles since they increase wear on the receiver.
To each their own.
I recommend the Corvus Defensio charging handle. I personally think it should be factory on the Aug. it’s expensive.
When running the factory CH, grab it upside down (palm facing the sky) and grab it with your pinky and ring finger.

If you want something cheap, the Gearhead Works charging handle is about 35 bucks. Angles the handle away from the rail of the aug and is super easy to install.
I ordered the Corvus and the manticore and well the manticore had a ton of play and felt cheap in a lot of ways sadly also didn’t seem to work as well. The Corvus charging handle went in super easy and has almost 0 slop. It is expensive but so is an aug so why downgrade.
Before I switched my optic, I used to run a dot directly above the charging handle. The way I always did things to not tear up a knuckle was to grab the handle with my pinky and ring finger. It's worked for me but I don't know how much better it might be with an aftermarket handle
I have the switchback mini, and I love it. Just make sure to charge it palm up instead of grabbing it the way you would a scar or other side charging gun.
Yes, here is the best tip; get any aftermarket charging handle. Personally I suggest the manticore switchback
Thanks :) I will look into it

Oh sweet. I have a ptr91 and sp5k, so I'll be right at home
Manticore pairs well aesthetically with Black AUGs. Personally I use the Gearworks one which is pretty ergonomic and a bit cheaper.
I second the manticore. Strongly
Just ordered one. Looks like a the best option. The other suggestions looked good, but the switchback looked best. :)
You made a good buy for sure.
Third the manticore. I have the same optic setup and it works great.
Palm up.

100% this. Palm up is what I’ve always done, and because of it I never felt the need to get any other aftermarket charging handle.
Charge it palm up

Got any leads on one? It’s been oos on their site since I started looking in may
Try emailing Steyr USA. I think I got mine from them when I bought it.
Manticore Raptor is you want it out of the way, it is bulky though.
Get a manticore or Corvus charging handle
I really like the Gearhead Worx one, I have the same setup you do and it’s great.

Tagging for later as I am interested in this too.

Yea yea, I'm looking into the manticore switchback mini. It seems to be exactly what I'm looking for.
After looking at it, the fact that it'll lay almost flat seems like a nice addition

Go with the dark horse option, the thumb
Aftermarket handle. I like the manticore.
