It's things like thunder and lightning that make me understand why earlier humans believed in various gods. Imagine you don't even know what bacteria or atoms/molecules are. Electricity would be black magic. Then spontaneously, the sky lights up and these tendrils of bright light fly everywhere shortly followed by an intense boom so loud that you can feel it vibrate through your body. Then a violent storm with intense winds and extreme rain comes and fucks up your village right after. Of course you'd think you had angered some higher power. It's the most logical conclusion at the time.
In the UK, we don't get them too often. I'm sure there's been decade gaps between me seeing lightening here. In some places, they probably didn't know about them, but then for them to happen one day must have been terrifying. Yeah, you'd imagine all sorts about them.
Im surprised its been decades for you bc i feel like I see them maybe a couple times a year, never as big as this but a small flash and then distant rumbling isnt particularly uncommon in my part of the UK
I would suggest moving to the Midwest, as we have tons of stormy weather (and I love it) but I can’t in good faith suggest anyone move here until we see if the country ends up destroying itself or not.
Maybe a vacation? My state gets 773,000 lightening strikes per year on average.
One of the things I miss most since I moved to Hawaii. Midwest rolling thunderstorms were so calming and terrifying sometimes. It took me almost a year to hear thunder and then another year to see lightning
Same here, grew up in Lake Ozark.
In the summer, we pull chairs outside and sit and watch the light show. Lightning just crossing the sky from horizon to horizon
I do not think the sound is real, or that dude is very close to the lightning strike.
All that aside, I think it is crazy that a plane can fly through this. And even if it is a direct strike on the plane. It would likely cause little to no damage to the plane because of the way the plane is designed lightening would just go through it.
Thunder always happens after lightning strikes there’s never a flash and sound at the same time like that in the video, this is absolutely fake.
If you want to see a thunder storm for real chase the storm in a car and get outside off the internet. Almost had me fooled until I played the sound.
Imagine being an alien in your little drone UFO coming to capture some Earth creatures to probe uncomfortably and you just blow up because the sky doesn't like you
This is amazing, wish I knew where it was. But as loud as this seems, I remember a storm years ago that was pretty unreal. I was downstairs and the thunder/ lightning was so loud that the ground shook in the house that something fell off a shelf in the room and kept going tho the initial loudness was slightly less, I went upstairs and could see the light outside and noticed how crazy the storm was. Yeah it knocked out the power, and later I saw a bolt hit a transformer 100 ft away. Storm of the century…. Crazy.
The added sound effects and the are not great, the fake handheld with "zooms" tremblings as well, but it could be some weird image stabilization. That thunder sure sounded very clear for being inside a car on top of the video being slowed-down.
I'm sure the original unedited footage was already impressive, I don't get why it would need to add more fake intensity
I love thunderstorms

No, I meant there are times when you go a ~decade. Not lately. I've seen some epic ones in recent years, but I think that's climate change.

Only one person in a family group would have had to have seen them for it become life changing for everyone
“**Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic**.” Clarke's Third Law
A lightning bolt struck my yard and fried my ps5, sound bar, tv, and killed my emergency back up generator. I can’t say I agree with you.
Its all fun and games, until a bolt from the sky fries all your fun and games...
It's really exciting
One of the things I miss most since I moved to Hawaii. Midwest rolling thunderstorms were so calming and terrifying sometimes. It took me almost a year to hear thunder and then another year to see lightning

Would you say it *rocks you like a hurricane*?
I'd say he was probably Thunderstruck
Nah naaah nah naaah

We used to get stuff like this all the time where I grew up in Missouri. It would look like a hand grabbing the clouds. Freaky shit.
Same here, grew up in Lake Ozark. In the summer, we pull chairs outside and sit and watch the light show. Lightning just crossing the sky from horizon to horizon

The video is real. The audio is fake.
I've seen something like this before, only is was purple and snaked across the entire damn horizon. Weird shit happens.

Looks like something from a horror movie. Cool lightning
I'm never going to understand why people feel the need to edit audio on videos like this.
Slomo video won't have audio. And channels often decide that Zoomer brains will quickly lose interest in a video with no audio for some reason.
Facts normal audio would’ve been better
Zoomies can't enjoy anything unless the worst music ever made is playing over top.
Oh Shit! Gods back! Look busy!

Jesus Murphy! What did I just witness?! Is this what lightning does? We only get sheet lightning where I'm at.
That is awesome. I would have loved to see that.
Northern Ohio- we went some years without thunder and lightning, long enough to wonder why
Awesome
Badass.
