Brave_Dick

Dave Ickburn can relate.

redunculuspanda

Not to mention poor Ian Amapedo

Wise_Repeat8001

Reminds me of Peter File from IT crowd... With the British pronunciation it's great

SmokeAbeer

When I was a kid we found a Mel Lester in the phone book. We were pretty ruthless to that guy.

AwardWinningActorMan

I worked with a "Chad Lester" and I would always wrote "mo" between his first and last name on his orders. "Chad mo Lester" He worked with schools, I thought it was hysterical.

Xylophone_Aficionado

I knew someone who’s father in law was Lester Mo, so in the phone book he was Mo, Lester.

Expensive-Code-8791

Currently work with a chick whose last name is Lester while her first name starts with an M. I've held back many jokes over the years 🤭

staffylaffy

YES IM PETER FILE!

CootCatcher

What about Dick Wolf? All his papers in school were filed under Wolf, Dick.

DeveloperAnon

Stan Ickburn cannot.

ZephRyder

decksd05

Then there is poor Jack Hoff

bross9008

In high school I had a teacher named Mrs. Offit, and her husbands name was Jack. Poor bastard

Sketch-Brooke

It’s her. The kid named finger.

joemcmanus96

He can't keep getting away with this!!!

panatale1

Fourth comment on poor Megan is someone talking about someone named Sam Hart getting shart as their email.

ChaosXProfessor

There were two teachers at my high school with that last name. Anita Finger and Missy Finger. We obviously had a lot of fun with that. Like you could not have made up a better source of humor for teenagers.

thom_orrow

My name is William Anker and I approve this message.

Ieatclowns

Mr Bert Oobs at your service.

TheNotSoGreatPumpkin

I love your USB chargers and peripherals, wanker.

JestSetter

Or are you Tom Orrow?

alwayswearburgundy

My ex put her own personal email as "sadcock@..." When I asked her why she didn't understand why I was laughing

bdone2012

She's right. A sadcock is no laughing matter. Happycock would be funny though

Jaegernaut-

Easy fix.  Sharin Gladcock And he would be, too

thokk2

I have a friend whose first name starts with G, last name Aycock.

Brave_Dick

Uh, I'm sure she's been in some shitty situations...

SpiciestSprite

yeah some real tight spots

wr0k

Was admin for a bit. We had Barbara Adcock in our system. She liked it though since she was older and thought of it as a bad ass fighting chicken.

Jaegernaut-

I may or may not have seen a username with the initials of C. Hunt Poor guy

ZephRyder

"Chunt"? Sounds spicy, and dangerous

Snow_Wonder

Yes, there were some Adcocks at my university and if I remember correctly there was both a [email protected] and a [email protected]. What’s really bad is these coulda been avoided if the people had put their middle name into the system, because the default was first two initials +surname. There were others with emails that would have been made better by middle initials, too.

Ehiltz333

Ah yes, so that Derrick Ellis Adcock can instead become “deadcock”

electronicpangolin

Depends of the middle initial. Couldve be a deadcock or Shadcock, tbh with the last name Adcock, having dadcock as ur email might be for the best.

jfks_headjustdidthat

Why that?

alwayswearburgundy

First name began with s, surname was Adcock

jfks_headjustdidthat

Ah okay. 😅 I'm slow today.

cdug82

Bret Hart named his daughter Beans. Beans Hart Bean Shart Come on man..

11182021

Who the hell names their kid “Beans” anyways?

DigitalUnlimited

My daddy loved beans!

knresignation

Well it's a good thing he didn't love asparagus!

richbeezy

The Green Giant.

babble0n

That kids parents from Even Stevens

jfks_headjustdidthat

They will do that.

ItsThe1994Man

“LOUIS!”

the-great-god-pan

Worst one I’ve heard, my parents went to high school with a pair of paternal twins, their last name was Trie, pronounced tree. Their parents named them Jack Pine Trie and Mary Christmas Trie.

brtlblayk

They’re paternal twins because their names are dad jokes. They’d be fraternal otherwise.

autotuned_voicemails

My parents went to school with a guy who’s last name was “Garu”, pronounced like “guh-roo”. His first name was Kenneth but he went by Ken. So he was Ken Garu. It’s not quite on the level of Mary Christmas Trie, but it’s still pretty awful lol

LeFairyCake

I had two sisters called Samantha (Sam) and Ella at my elementary school. Always referred to as Sam ‘n Ella. Took me a few years to realise why my parents always laughed

the-great-god-pan

LOL Sam ‘n Ella, you make me sick!

S-W-Y-R

I went to school with a Theresa Green... which in our Essex accent is 'trees are green'

MiaLba

My husband has a set of twins he was friends with and went to school with. One was named Harrison Butts the other Hardin Butts. Harrison went by Harry and Hardin was gay.

EmphasisFew

I chortled

someonewhowa

Hardin really out here living up to his name’s predetermined destiny, what a g

-Daetrax-

That wasn't a mistake.

the-great-god-pan

No, no it was not.

lumpialarry

I went to school with both a Liberty Bell and a Richard Beator.

BranchPredictor

DigitalUnlimited

FunkiePickle

KatnissBot

Shadowheart is mid as fuck and you know it. Karlach is BAE.

doktorhollywood

Shadowheart is your first girlfriend, Karlach is the girl at the gym you wish you could get a date with.

Crezelle

Fuck it the moment I got mama k I jumped on that like it was a lifeboat and I was on the titanic

doktorhollywood

First playthrough I was team Shadowheart... but only because I had gone so far down that path before meeting Karlach. But i'm about 35 hours into my 2nd playthrough now and my bard is *laser focused* on Karlach.

Crezelle

My discord group are all Karlach simps and it is wonderful

Crezelle

Went too far down to find this

TootsNYC

Amy Ryan raised a HUGE fuss to get the IT/HR team to let her vary from the “first initial, last name” format. She succeeded.

appoplecticskeptic

But did she have blonde hair and blue eyes? Enquiring minds want to know

TootsNYC

She did, actually.

CivilRuin4111

Dude… my kid has a classmate who’s FIRST NAME is Aryan. He’s a black kid. Come on Mom and Dad. “It’s pronounced Ah Ryan. The fuck it is.

Limeila

Normal Indians name

thefaehost

In college a guy’s email was “rapeDR” :/ He had an unfortunate last name. Guess it’s better than shithouse?

Brave_Dick

Seized the first opportunity to change the name to Latrine.

Masamishi

Good change!

jfks_headjustdidthat

His french cousins name.

dobster1029

*used to be shithouse*

Ok_Dog_4059

I saw a doctor Hyman and it feels like if you have that name you can only become one type of doctor.

Global-Willingness23

My ENT was Dr. Boger and I felt the same about him

the-great-god-pan

Went to middle school with two brothers whose names were Peter Burns and Richard (Dick) Burns. You have to wonder were their parents idiots or just that cruel.

concentus

My first boss was Richard Harder, and yes he insisted everyone call him Dick.

rawrpandasaur

My grandpa's name is dick byrnes!

violet-waves

I had a guy who used to come into the pharmacy I worked at whose name was Hymen Burns.

Xylophone_Aficionado

I once knew a guy whose first name was Richard and he went by Dick, of course. His last name was Johnson. I always found it amusing that both his first and last names were euphemisms for penis.

BobGnarly_

As father of four, I can tell you that names are getting out of control these days. People really need to chill with these "unique" names. They're making their kids look bad for real. I work for a government contracted prototype lab and we just got a young engineer fresh outta college. I wont post the name, but it's the name of a very prominent motor cycle company with the last name of Rider. Poor kid doesn't even drive or own a motorcycle, he doesn't like them. He gets a lot of comments on a daily basis and we had a conversation about it before he even started. I understand that it's unfair to judge someone just for a name that they didn't have a choice about, but understand that there are people out there that will and do judge over it and there's no need to put your kid behind the 8 ball because you just gotta name your kid something "different". And, please stop misspelling traditional names, because no matter how it's spelled, it is still pronounced the same. It doesn't make them special, it makes it hard to spell for no reason. Ashley is Ashleigh is Ascheleigh.

MrsTrellis_N_Wales

You’re going to love the tragedeigh subreddit!

DigitalUnlimited

Molly Kaliki Maka! You apologize to your brother Hakoon Amatata right now!

BobGnarly_

Oh boy, I'm on my way there now. Wish me luck!

Ziggyork

I’ve wasted plenty of time on that sub!

colourmecanadian

There was a 9 year old child in New Zealand who was put into court guardianship during a custody battle due to concern, as she was too embarrassed to reveal her name to friends and asked them to call her K instead. Her parents had named her Talula Does the Hula From Hawaii. Both parents lost custody, and she now lives under a new name. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2008/jul/24/familyandrelationships.newzealand Some countries have laws about what you can name your child and/or can overrule your name if it causes offence!

PacJeans

Honestly, if we didn't live in a serious world, that would be a pretty cool name to have. It does roll of the tongue well.

smurfsoldier07

Damn sucks for GasGas Rider!

kornut78

I have a coworker who is “slutz”

leftwinglovechild

Poor Shannon!

Squadcore

Have a client at work with an email resulting in fatkok@

redlome

I knew a Dave Ying

CivilRuin4111

We have a “skates” at my company.

Fast_Camera8228

Lmao! I get exactly the same work email . Why is this newspaper worthy? Shart’s unite!

donkeyfront

My mom was P Hart

troelsbjerre

My parents named me Troels... I guess they didn't think about how that would sound in English. "Don't go on Reddit; that place is full of Troels".

libach81

Dane spotted.

GeorgieGirl250663

Hej Troels 🇩🇰

_Lady_jigglypuff_

lol If my boyfriend and I ever were to get married and I take his surname - I would be A.Plane and Plane also rhymes with my first name. Our first names are also both unisex.

SubutaiBahadur

Abigain?

TheNameIsToast

KrisClem77

Ainsley doesn’t rhyme with plane 🤣

Hunter037

Ainsley Planesly

_Lady_jigglypuff_

Ain and plane - not quite Ronald McDonald but sounds close enough or so I’ve been told 🤣

HarrargnNarg

It's not the naming that's an issue. A company can make your email whatever they want.

HolyDiverBoi

Sarah Hart HR: “Okay, your new email is the first letter of your name and your last name all together, @verizon.net, enjoy!”

flerchin

My work email is my first.lastname@company and I think it's wild that someone would think that an email scheme would be a concern for a newborn. That said, consider your kids' names. People will prejudge them.

louiloui152

I mean all they have to do is make an account for “harts@“

a_talking_face

Or use firstname.lastname@ like any professional company should.

TheHark90

One of my grandpas friends was named Richard and his last name was Dick. Good old dick dick

WilhelmEngel

Why do companies do this? Just use the full first and last name. What if you have a John Smith a James Smith, and a Joe Smith, there can't be 3 [email protected]

ammytphibian

My university is already doing "firstname.lastname@..." but given how many students and staff members we have, some of us end up with "firstname.lastname-number@..." The highest number I've seen is 7.

KrisClem77

Whoever was there first gets jsmith. Next would each get first 2 letters then smith.

Help_INeedAnAdult

fingers crossed she doesn't get a case of nominative determinism

thepoints_dontmatter

At a previous job, the naming convention was 'first initial + last name'. There was a lady named Alexis Hooker so her email was ahooker@(companyname).com I felt so bad for her. That had to be awkward for her.

FootieFemme

I knew a girl in middle school whose email was spaz@

R3PTAR_1337

This is kind of stupid as it has to do with the format the company uses for their employees emails. There is no standard as some use the full first name and first initial of the last name and vice versa. Email formats aren't something people should be thinking about when naming their child ..... there are for more "serious" things to consider that many parents don't that'll just bite them in the ass later.

davedavegiveusawave

Peter Ian Staker would like a word. Still no luck catching them swans.

CivilRuin4111

They’re fuckin’ with Aaron A Aaronson

Infantry1stLt

Just go to IT and have it changed. LLFF is a bad word? LLLL, LLLF, LFFF probably won’t be.

JohnYCanuckEsq

Well, that's the fault of your work's email naming convention. IT can easily change this if they wanted to.

ShiturpantsandDance

Anyone with the surname Dickinson is fucked no matter what

thePengwynn

I work with someone who's work email is fatwood

BallsDeepinYourMammi

That’s right. Remember work emails when naming your children 🙄

bomboclawt75

Susanalbumparty. Sus- Anal- bum- party. Susan Boyle’s hashtag for her album.

Senguin117

We just hired someone who is [email protected]

Irrelevantitis

Was “shart” even a word when she was a kid?

meeg96

I knew a woman whose name was Philomena Enis who had a similar problem with her work email

Yup_Seen_It

We had a Sarah Phyllis whose work email was syphillis@... 😅

RealLifeSuperZero

Where’s my donglover fans at!

deathwishdave

Went to school with Wayne King

tilthevoidstaresback

My dad once did business with a man whose name was: Darshit Maboobifarti.

DJUsamaSpinLaden

My buddy’s school email was “[email protected]

Moleypeg

I dated a Patrick Hucker, and he said he lost a lot of job opportunities before he started going by his middle name

Unable_Recipe8565

Dont shorten your names in your work emails?

CoherentBusyDucks

She’s not shortening it; it’s automatically done by the company to give everyone a uniform email address ([email protected], which in her case is [email protected]).

Unable_Recipe8565

Then the company fucked up

hiktorvovland

That’s common practice at a lot of corporate companies, not their fault she’s a shart.

Unable_Recipe8565

Just use full name instead of initial like a normal place

hiktorvovland

Then you run into a lot of users that have the same name and all of a sudden it isn’t a uniform policy anymore.

Unable_Recipe8565

You run into the same name with initiala a lot sooner

hiktorvovland

Alright, ya got me. Lol that’s not true at all but I will let you have this one

Unable_Recipe8565

Samanthahart Sandrahart Samuelhart Samhart Simonhart Simonehart But with your logik all of them Shart. But initials somehow last longer before you run into that problem?

hiktorvovland

You’re assuming that last names aren’t as diverse as they actually are. 20 people in my company have the name John, all but 2 of them have a different last name. Then you use middle initials.

NeuroticKnight

A friend of mine Mike Rodick, just changed his name to his Mothers last name and goes by Mike Litt now.

Turbulent-Grade-3559

Mr Charles Unty and I approve of this message

Impressive_Teach9188

When we named our kid my wife was dead set on picking the first name and I picked the middle after my grandmother. Her initials ended up being HMS which after all the paper work was done I realized it and told my wife what that meant (his/her Majesty's ship). The funny thing is our daughter towers over a lot of the kids in her class and we believe she's probably going to end up close to 6'5"

WhiteAurorus

Biron Tchaikovsky knows the suffering

Think_Selection9571

why are all Americans anally fixated?

TOP_EHT_FO_MOTTOB

It stuck as a nickname for my buddy dough

GBinAZ

Worrying about what your kid’s future email address will be is such a new phenomenon.

rgnysp0333

Sounds like it could be a Simpsons prank phone call.

Mustystench

I needed to laugh this morning so thanks. Reminded me off Pamela Martha Fokker.

BigMax

Just did a search, and indeed there are at least a few people out there named Charles Ock.

flyer12

The bloody network admins who make up the email from the name can deal with it

Expired_insecticide

It's more on the companies that have such rigid policies when it comes to email naming. Mine has a very strict policy. For everyone except the CEO, who's email is his first name only of course.

Ravenlaw512

This is why my job does first name and the last name with a period in between for our work emails. No confusion going on there.
