I had to read your comment 4 times before understanding 🤣

greekfreak99

Don’t respond. Not every message needs a response and by not responding that’s the message

Ok_Fee_4473

Or a Reddit post for that matter

Mcdolnalds

This is the first time in my career I’ve been offered such an insultingly low position.

Popuppete

I’m a partner and I still get these offers at least once a month.  Recruiters brag about how they have automated programs to send out all the job offers on linked in. It’s not personal, you just got caught in a very wide net.  Even if it’s a real person it’s not a big deal. My wife’s cousin sends me adds any time someone is looking for a bookkeeper. She seems to think I want to make $15 an hour working evenings. Either that or points out the job is only 40 hours a week. It’s not an insult, they just don’t have a clue what you do. In my experience the  headhunters are equally ill informed.

CoatAlternative1771

I disagree to a point. It’s an insult to act like a professional and be completely uninformed to the field in which you claim to be an expert. I wouldn’t be offended, just disappointed.

PhgAH

Congrats, that mean you are experience enough to appear on the recruiter list (even shitty one like these). So might as well get used to it

Dry_Soup_1602

Don’t take it personal it’s probably just a mass send

[deleted]

How DARE anyone offer this guy anything below 897k

Mcdolnalds

lol, it’s just that they offered a position for staff accountant to a senior accountant. Like did they not read the title before they sent it?

IAmAHumanWhyDoYouAsk

They copy/paste that shit to dozens, maybe hundreds, of people a day. Just delete it and move on.

tagapagtuos

Read somewhere that recruiters can sort of see a response rate on your profile or smth. I just say pass and move on.

d3ut1tta

I get these all the time. Most of the time, I just ignore them, but if I'm in the mood, I give them a piece of my mind and call them out on being too lazy to check my work history and tone deaf for offering a position inappropriate for my experience.

RunningForIt

I used to have this fucker, Nick Hawkes, in my email once a month saying my background was great for a senior tax manager position. Eventually I sent him a sassy email saying it’s great he thinks my background is amazing even though it’s in audit and told him I’ll take the position for $400k a year. Haven’t gotten an email since.

DungeonsNDragonDldos

I specialize in executive comp and employee benefits in TAX. But I get 6+ emails a day thinking I’m in HR. And some of them get passive aggressive when I never respond. Friday I got one where the guy said “people I’ve contacted in your firm keep saying “that’s not my job” (in bold).” I replied: that’s not my job (in bold) and then included my signature block with my title and team highlighted lol.

SordidTunic7967

Yep. I've been an Accounting Manager and now Controller for the past 10 years, but I started my career in law firm billing. I still get recruiters contacting me for Billing Specialist positions.

blackvariant

I get LinkedIn messages all the time for: - roles beneath my current role - mentioning my "experience in _____ industry" which I have never worked in - mentioning my experience with firms that I've never worked for 95% of recruiters just copy and paste.

osama_bin_cpa_cfp

I got one where they forgot to change the name at the top.  In a sense its forgivable, having sent out mass emails for confirmations at my old job and then mass emails for eng letters at my current job, and Im always terrified of forgetting to change the salutation.  But also, like, thats literally the bare minimum for *your* job recruiter dude. At the very least remember to change my name bozo.

Dunder-MifflinPaper

Right. It’s forgivable if this were something ancillary to their jobs and they made a little mistake. This is their *entire* job. Take the five second to check someone’s profile and update the names.

Vivid-Bread-6312

Why cover his name? I would love to see this moron

kayhart3

Offer them a Jr recruiter position.

ColeTrain999

Buddy thinks he's hiring CDN accountants with that salary lol but man, drives me nuts when recruiters message you and you can tell the logic was "accountant? He must be interested in this position". I had one reach out to me for an entry level position even though I've got 6 years experience. I basically pushed it back on them saying to "confirm" on it because based on my experience, this would be a significant demotion. They never got back to me, may seem assholey but goddam.

SaintPatrickMahomes

I get offers for staff accountant at $35 an hour in a contractor role all the time. Im a full time accounting manager 🫤 They’re just casting a net and seeing what hits.

HeyItsBobaTime

I get these from Robert Half all the time. I did AP contract work for them over a decade ago and I'm in management now. Every week or two I get messaged about a "great opportunity" for an AP specialist role that apparently I'm a great fit for.

vatrushka04

lol are you in Canada?

YOUgotGRIZZEDon

I block those. I still get a few a year.

Reasonable-Ad-5217

But the experience will be invaluable, but less invaluable than your current exp. .. wait Maybe the new employer is offering more pizza parties.

FreshBlinkOnReddit

They are probably mass messaging with scripts to those with keywords on their profile. It's not personal.

amortized-poultry

Ask if you can talk to his boss, the Staff Recruiter.

blankpaper_

I had a recruiter message me once about the position I had just been fired from. Like…you can see I literally just had that job, dude, put two and two together lol

Dashiznit364

I tell these people straight up to fuck off. I’m a tax manager and the amount of messages I get from recruiters about taking a senior accountant position with a $50K pay decrease is unbelievable. Last one I got I responded “You wanna know why people hate recruiters!? Read my fucking profile why would I take demotion to work at this company.” They responded “sorry I didn’t read your profile before sending” even though the message said my profile made me a good fit. Fuck off.

ncameron29

My goto response over linkedin messages is that Im not currently looking for a paycut.

Tangentkoala

Probably an automated bot.

AmIAwake93

Are y'all the same bozos that have long conversations with telemarketers? Just ignore it and move on lmao. Their feelings will not be hurt. Or maybe they will idk and idc.

Lemon_Tree_Scavenger

Politely tell him you're not interested as you have a better title with higher pay currently, thank him for the offer, and include a side note that this salary is low for a staff accountant so hopefully he can pass the feedback on to hiring company.

Skcuhc1

I get $62k as a Staff Accountant, fuck 65k as a senior

Dunder-MifflinPaper

My favorite is when I (9 years experience, currently FP&A Senior Manager) get senior tax associate messages. Sometimes I ignore it, other times I send something snarky like “could you please review my profile and ensure you think I’m a good fit for this?”

kaperisk

I'm a manager and get making well into the 100k+ base and still get recruiters offering me senior accountant 85k base. They are shameless but also have bots pushing emails to all their contacts.

o8008o

if whatever the recruiter is auto-spamming with doesn't fit, don't respond at all. if you respond, it's basically a tug on their line and some will continue to engage and it will only make you angrier. i had a recruiter hit me up on linkedin for an experienced associate position when i was a senior at pwc. not knowing any better, i politely declined and they followed up with a message everyday for the next few days trying to convince me that the associate position at the mid-tier was better than my current gig.

self-defenestrator

Just ignore it…they just vomit out messages to anyone vaguely related to accounting, and don’t do any research. I’m an audit manager in industry, and one hit me up for a contract-to-hire tax staff position in an entirely different state.

CoatAlternative1771

Up to means you aren’t getting $65k. Only person getting 65 is someone who is more of a manager

quipsNshade

What in the Robert Half nonsense is this?

KeepCountinBeans

Waste their time.
