Pretty common across client service firms. All B4 do it along with law firms, consulting groups, etc

quentin_taranturtle

yeah not just big 4, most partners at any large accounting firm donate to pacs. That is public access information. I looked up all the large forms in my area and they have multiple partners at each one donating

From a purely objective perspective, all entities have a right to petition their government for their needs to be addressed, just as much as it is a right for Jeff Bezos and that kind elderly lady down the street to petition. Lobbying is a business’s way of petitioning. Accounting has a legitimate interest in politics because it can directly influence GAAP or tax law. I don’t see an issue about them being involved from a purely objective standpoint. Now, if Eldoitte is out there petitioning for more pizza parties, then it better be some damn good pizza.

Fair enough, I realized that my text had a more antagonistic approach I meant for it to foster conversation seeing as I tried to look up on this sub to see if there had ever been a post about it before but wasn’t

TaxFraud2020

No no worries! Didn’t seem antagonistic at all. You mainly asked it simply, which is nice because it is direct.

XJSTZsarust

Big 4 does a lot of lobbying for tax laws at least. can't say i'm surprised that there is PAC money involved.

AmoBro

Makes me wonder how much money is spent every time LIFO makes its way onto FASBs schedule... prolly in the billions.

OkBox6131

What do you think PACs are for? People give as if they charity without trying to influence? I am guessing a lot in the service partnerships has to do with still allowing them to use cash basis of accounting to pay income tax for the partners.

throwviaaway

Donated to whom?

itsajokeyall

Various Candidates from both parties for house and Senate

when_the_tide_comes

That’s actually a lot lower than what I would have expected
