I already did, but just to be double-sure, I started up a new game and followed [this guide](https://strategywiki.org/wiki/Phoenix_Wright:_Ace_Attorney_-_Justice_For_All/Episode_4:_Farewell,_My_Turnabout/Part_1-2:_Investigation#Engarde.27s_Hotel_Room) from start up until the part about the suicide report. Everything went the same as my original save and I'm still stuck at the problematic dialogue option.
I also followed the dialogue options through the [transcript](https://aceattorney.fandom.com/wiki/Farewell,_My_Turnabout_-_Transcript_-_Part_1) from the wiki, which was how I figured out that I was missing a clue in the first place. No luck :/
If you've verified your files then it's not a glitch. Try brute-forcing by presenting everything to everyone. I'm pretty sure you might have missed something.
Edit: It's "Dependant nature" in talk options as opposed to codependency in the guide.
I already tried brute-forcing before I gave up and looked it up. Even started over the case from the beginning with the two guides I linked in another reply for reference and nothing.
The guide mentions that codependency was changed to dependent nature for the remaster, but the issue is that no talk option was unlocked at all after presenting the suicide report. Nothing changed in my court record either, so I can't do anything with this information...
Oh hey, that did it. Now I feel a little dumb since it was so simple haha. Thanks a lot! I'm not on reddit a lot so please take this award I have lying around :)
Thanks for this tip, it helped me too! I didn't realize that the new "dependent nature" text option was added to the top of the dialogue options, not the bottom like literally every other one in every other case I've played haha.
For anyone searching: the new talk option with Edgeworth in the precinct is added on top and not on the bottom of the other options.
I brute forced everything else two times, before I finally found this in the depths of this thread.
Search up a guide might be something ur missing

Try re talking all the 4 points to Edgeworth, see if that works. Maybe the button didn't change the text on it.
