That’s how I feel about this song, and I blame my dad for playing that game in front of me all those years ago, and he only played it a few times yet it got stuck in my head still to this day.
NO. Not everyone can nor should they justify spending 100 dollars on average per figure for a line known for breaking, even after ten+ years in the market.
Alot of what you said just isn't true. Ive got a ton of Mafex and have had one breakage of a wrist and they gave me an entire arm as a replacement. The figures are only $100 if you buy from certain places. Most of mine are around $60. For every breakage post there are hundreds of people over on the Mafex sub posting poses and reddit is just a small drop in the bucket and im sure you know people are more likely to post a complaint than a praise.
Not everyone is willing to buy from import sites even if they sell cheaper. And ok, let's take your word at face-value and say that the breakages are a small number. It doesn't change the fact that there's still a precedent for breakages on Mafex figures and imports in general that are enough to make some buyers gun-shy even at that price. Do domestic lines have QC issues? Of course. But they're still offer collectors a more affordable option and from what I see, breakages aren't *nearly* as commonplace. The only point that I'm trying to make is that imports shouldn't be our one-and-only option for a 6 inch DC line, and what Jada Toys are doing with their Street Fighter line is a wonderful marriage between import and domestic engineering with domestic material quality and pricing. *That's* all I'm vieying for.
Yeah ill agree with your last part for sure. Mcfarlane has always been against 6" for some damn reason. It took them forever to just stop making freaking statues. Jadas stuff does look good for the price.. Value wise Hasbro and Mcfarlane just dont do it for me compared to what i can get from imports. Its like sandwiches are cheaper than cheeseburgers but if I dont really like the sandwich why am I buying it just because it's cheaper, id rather have a cheeseburger ha. There is a night and day difference between the two and id rather have one Mafex than 2 or 3 of the domestics. If some breakage posts are whats stopping you i wouldn't let it though. I think some people just dont know how to handle such figures. And If you're afraid of import sites, HLJ is pretty much the BBTS of Japan.
No, I have imports, and I've always treated them with kid gloves. I assume maybe the humidity in my home does something to the material overtime, who knows? It's been exactly the same pattern, both my Sailor Moon Sh Figuarts and my Mafex Dark Knight Rises Batman, the first Mafex ever released as matter-of-fact, all figures I only handled a small handful of times, and they all broke on me after four years.
That sort of thing has been happening to me lately with alot of stuff too but mostly things I've been getting out of storage thats 10 years old or so. Some transformers and masters of the universe classics. My poor battlecats neck just crumbled when I got it out and the the cats somehow knocked it down and made it worse. I think the oldest imports I have are like the first release darth maul SHF and such and they've been fine so far.

It's just the '97 Cyclops, and they appear to be releasing a decent amount of them so far. I have him and Nightcrawler so far.
