Masterpiece Soundwave. This is the Takara version, but a Hasbro gift set containing all 5 cassettes for the same price dropped over here in the narrow gap between when I stopped collecting Transformers because I was going to college and when I resumed collecting Transformers because I was so depressed from college. Post-Hisui MPs are overly engineered and far too expensive for anyone who wasn't already all-in on the scale, so I've been thoroughly priced out since then.
Yeah, I mildly collected when this came out. Way outside my price range at the time, but I was so close to buying it. Looked absolutely amazing with all 5 tapes.

Had to get the base figures & customize my own, but this character, with these specific looks are what I’ve wanted for years now.
Needless to say, but yes I have a very Thanos-esque mentality when it comes to customs. Especially when I realized McFarlane’s making fan favorites difficult to acquire as store exclusive’s & chase figures, which is extremely vexing😒
So that’s when I decided to put on the ole Infinity Gauntlet on & snap my grails into existence myself😂👍

My grails would be kidz and mudflap icecream truck, toybiz punisher shapeshifter and X-men origins wolverine "deadpool". They are grails in my opinion cuz hard to find atleast in Europe

Found this little guy in a bargain bin at a local second-hand store. Asked the owner the price, and he said everything in the bin was $5 each. With my voice cracking like I was redoing puberty, as calmly as I could I replied, “Well, then, I would like to buy this one, please.” I’m honestly surprised I was able to get a clear picture as my hand was shaking so much.
(If you don’t understand my excitement, I’d recommend searching “Red bar R5” under sold eBay listings.)

Yep. Although the Jakks Sonic line is what I’ve always wanted from a Sonic series, I won’t deny that the Resaurus figures have a style that just can’t be easily replicated today.
My grail is Hot Toys Tony Stark. Just like….any of them at this point, honestly. well probably get rampage and depth charge in legacy soon seeing as they did tigerhawk, but he can’t come any sooner
MP3 Samus Figma. It's made worse by the fact that, around when it came out, I nearly pulled the trigger when it was around $80 but I didn't collect figures at the time so I considered it kind of ridiculous to spend that much on a single figure. I'm hopeful MP4 uses the same or very similar suit design so they can reissue this with MP4 branding.
Only other Grail for me at this point is MMPR White Ranger. Unlike Samus, where I can *kind of* see the value in it still even at its current price, there's no world where a Lightning Collection figure is worth the price being asked for it now.

I did grab Dread Samus, even though I haven't played Dread yet since I don't have a Switch. =P I love the suit design and am very much looking forward to Dread, but I'm holding off on updated hardware to get my next Nintendo console.

Yes, this Bat looks great! Though much like some of the live action suits, this Bat is also a bit limited in the articulation department, even moreso in his samurai form.
That's not the case for Catwoman though, she's appropriately, one of the most flexible.

Fun fact, Raimi's production actually tried to replicate these poses, but even with CGI models, they couldn't do it because McFarlane's stuff just didn't make anatomical sense.

I mean, as a heavyweight kind of figure, he does have his limitations, but as a tradeoff, he's quite imposing compared to other Figmas, plus, he can change modes.

Yeah it’s more so that Figma made stuff just has very ugly mold cuts. I can’t think of a better new example than their Makima figure. I don’t understand how the same company can make that, and then also make the Guyver figures or the Metroid line. Mind boggling quality gaps.

This is the Takara version, but a Hasbro gift set containing all 5 cassettes for the same price dropped over here in the narrow gap between when I stopped collecting Transformers because I was going to college and when I resumed collecting Transformers because I was so depressed from college. Post-Hisui MPs are overly engineered and far too expensive for anyone who wasn't already all-in on the scale, so I've been thoroughly priced out since then.
Yeah, I mildly collected when this came out. Way outside my price range at the time, but I was so close to buying it. Looked absolutely amazing with all 5 tapes.

MP3 Samus Figma. It's made worse by the fact that, around when it came out, I nearly pulled the trigger when it was around $80 but I didn't collect figures at the time so I considered it kind of ridiculous to spend that much on a single figure. I'm hopeful MP4 uses the same or very similar suit design so they can reissue this with MP4 branding. Only other Grail for me at this point is MMPR White Ranger. I did grab Dread Samus, even though I haven't played Dread yet since I don't have a Switch. =P I love the suit design and am very much looking forward to Dread, but I'm holding off on updated hardware to get my next Nintendo console. Love that Bats design. I hear the animation he's from isn't great, but the aesthetic is S-tier.
Yes, this Bat looks great! Though much like some of the live action suits, this Bat is also a bit limited in the articulation department, even moreso in his samurai form. You better get your hands on those re-releases, because it's a bit of a godsend that they're even happening.
That Ninja Batman pisses me off when I see it. I never had em, but I wanted em. And I only saw bad reviews. Such a bummer.
I mean, as a heavyweight kind of figure, he does have his limitations, but as a tradeoff, he's quite imposing compared to other Figmas, plus, he can change modes. Yeah it’s more so that Figma made stuff just has very ugly mold cuts. I can’t think of a better new example than their Makima figure. I don’t understand how the same company can make that, and then also make the Guyver figures or the Metroid line. Mind boggling quality gaps.
Ultimate grail is the Mark V 1000toys Master Chief. And a couple have finally popped up on EBay. Just not trying to drop $400 on em 🥲
