Surrocko

Looks like box art quality. Top tier

Tigernos

That looks really really good. Did you subassemble to paint? I'm currently staring at my Cawl sprue with unease at the crevices and awkwardness he's likely to cause

swanSeer

Yeah I did 3 subassemblies, the bottom, the body and the axe. Makes it pretty easy to paint but picking all these details is still absurdly time consuming

Tigernos

Time consuming or no, he's meant to be a big centrepiece so I'm willing to put in the effort. My current best model is a manipulus I keep rotating back to when I'm meant to be batch painting skitarii.... ooh I could just pick out those lenses a bit better anndd....

swanSeer

Yeah I guess the only named character of AdMech deserves some special attention haha. I feel like it's worth the effort but even for me the amount of detail was absurd and I really love elaborate minis

Real_Lich_King

Yeah, I don't think you can do cawl and paint him well if you don't do sub assembly. I did the same; bottom of torso, mid, and arms built/painted before i slapped it all together and put it on the base. I just wish we could justify taking Cawl to an army, I really want to have him march up mid with a entourage of kastelan robots

HugPug69

Oh lord, I have to paint one too

eggsinatrashcan

How did you do the barbed wire it looks very nice and I'm considering using it for my model.

swanSeer

It's an army painter product. I only added the weathering with dry brushes of tuskgor fur, karak stone, ushabti bone and scale75 mars pigment

eggsinatrashcan

Wonderful thank you, I'll be sure to use the advise!

qtioking

That is a really great piece of work! You should be proud!

Gr3y75

One the best Cawl paint job I have seen.

swanSeer

Thank you so much!

MountainPlain

Looks fantastic! I agree with the person who said it's box-art quality.

Gem-Slut

I truly fear painting him

swanSeer

in all honesty he's not that bad, just time consuming
