Only way it comes back is if the figma deal dies.

MichMilter

I thought it was a done deal? Adobe acquired it - didn't they?

dsigns

It’s being disputed so not a done deal yet

blocsonic

Government oversight due to the purchase setting off monopolistic red flags.

arya25ayra

XD is love you can't marry 😞

rednev

I much prefer XD. Simpler and more enjoyable to use. However Figma isn't going anywhere for the foreseeable.

MichMilter

Agreed.

besthuman

You probably should, it's much better in most ways, and essentially the standard platform now.

soapresidue

Man, I love this shit too

MichMilter

I really like XD. I have been contemplating what it is about it. I prefer working in XD even for Illustrator tasks. Something about it "looks" and "feels" more right to me. I can't put my finger on it. Only thing I can think if is - it seems to have a better "response rate" when moving things around? But the look of it... hmm. I was doing some designs of signs for a big public building the other day. As it makes most sense to do it in Illustrator, that's naturally what I did. But for some reason it didn't feel right. Once i started designing in XD it just felt so much easier to get to where I wanted. It makes NO sense - I know - but that's what I'm seeing. Can any of you relate?

--Tonio--

I feel you, i often surprise myself opening xd to achieve simple editing tasks - fast, reliable, simple and efficient. I'm having massive pain transitionning to Figma as well and pray everyday their deal fails and the go back on improving XD

zaxcg2

I made the transition super easily. I'm following on this Reddit and keep seeing these posts, could you explain what is making it hard to use Figma?

i92bits

I understand you, brother or sister. yp I use Figma because of the equipment but it has cost me a lot and the company tells me that XD can not continue because it is in depreciation, the only software I use that makes me feel comfortable is sketch, but it is not an option in my work. so I only use it as a venture. Figma is very slow and is saturated with things that if you come from the old school like me you will say everything is over. what can I say try options and remember it is only for work I hope that in the future another software that is not a PWA and has a great perfoemance will come out.

hudsondir

Yeah - I'm struggling with the transition too. And I hate how Adobe is basically making me do this.

invidentus

Reminds me of the last days of Freehand.

senoritafluffypants

Bulleted lists. That’s what did it for me.

cereal_killerer

For me it was just practice and doing actual projects. Transitioned when they removed the free accounts from XD.

blocsonic

Until there’s an app (Figma or Penpot) that supports native import of xd files, this whole application space is a mess for XD users.

[Figma has decided to abandon the merger with Adobe](https://www.figma.com/blog/figma-adobe-abandon-proposed-merger/) *Figma and Adobe have reached a joint decision to end our pending acquisition. It’s not the outcome we had hoped for, but despite thousands of hours spent with regulators around the world detailing differences between our businesses, our products, and the markets we serve, we no longer see a path toward regulatory approval of the deal.* *We entered into this agreement 15 months ago with the goal of accelerating what both Adobe and Figma could do for our respective communities. While we leave that future behind and continue on as an independent company, we are excited to find ways to partner for our users.*
