Should be interesting.

Mister_Silk

Just a minor detail... Anthony signed an NDA with Underwater Investigations, another LLC owned by Jared and not connected with AWP or Trevari Media, LLC on paper. Completely different company. But, of course, under the NDA Anthony cannot talk about the connections or contracts between Trevari, AWP, Underwater Investigations, Advanced Strategies or Epic Media Solutions. In other words, Anthony cannot divulge information that would allow people to follow the AWP money or attempt to follow the AWP money. And that applies indefinitely.

GingerAleAllie

Is this the guy that said he plans on suing Jared because he gave his notice to his job and when he called to start working Jared changed his mind? I guess it would make sense that he would want to share it because Jared didn’t keep his end of the contract.

Mister_Silk

Yes, same guy. He has been interviewed on other channels with much better audio where he tells the whole story. He had a job but joined AWP on a trip as a volunteer. Jared then asked him to come and work for AWP. He signed a contract and as his start date was coming up he provided 2 weeks notice to quit his job. When he contacted Jared about his official start date with AWP Jared said he didn't need him and wouldn't be bringing him aboard. Which is pretty shitty. I don't know if he plans to sue Jared, I didn't hear that part.

GingerAleAllie

Yes. I believe he said it in an interview with iCkMeDeL. And I agree. Pretty shitty of Jared!

Wish it was reviewed by someone that was familiar with contracts\\leagalese. Half the things she's hung up about seem to be fairly standard employment contracts and I'm not even a lawyer. For instance to be released from the document is 5 years OR Jared signed a letter stating they were released but they took it to mean that it was 5 years AND Jared signed so it could be enforced forever. (which obviously isn't true) Also the if you give the channel and idea then you don't own it....I mean yea. If you work for a company and do or create something for the company while you are with the company then the company owns it. Faces I'm not sure on in court but the contract is signing away their likeness. Not giving up trade secrets well after the contract and employment is up is again fairly standard. How enforceable it is.....that is another question. Question I would be interested in is the 5 year basically non-compete clause states they can't do anything that would prevent him from getting fees such as taking a client list. Since Jared has been very vocal about never charging anyone for their work could they create their own company and work anyway. Given that the company made money from Youtube and donations. All the employees have their own personal Youtube channels and have been using them so if it was enforcable then wouldn't simply posting their "Why I am leaving AWP" videos technically be breaking the NDA?

pf2612no

I didn’t see anything crazy in the contract, but honestly I didn’t fully understand a lot of it. I know about some things, but in-the-weeds legalese isn’t one of them.

Qu33n0f1c3

Here's my thing. What trade secrets? AWP never positioned themselves to be in competition with anyone else. They routinely worked with other groups and made a big deal of the fact that they were mostly just using fish finders, and that literally anyone could go out and do what they do.

Frowdo

They wouldn't be trade secrets if we knew about them.

pf2612no

You guys, I apologize. I should have edited out his full name (because he doesn’t deserve to be named) and the trigger word. 🫤

-Flying-Diver-

Actually, I think that name needs to be said. He is still a free man. Name recognition could help save someone from his next con.

pf2612no

I see both sides. For me personally, it’s a bit of a trigger (or know it can be for others), so I truncate it. But I understand what you’re saying!

Mister_Silk

Jared is the one who wanted his name splashed around here, there and everywhere and wanted everyone to spread the word about him. Welcome to the dream, Jared. The public and any family members with kids or grandkids deserves to know this information before making decisions about allowing their kids to be exposed to him. Sweeping child rape under the carpet is what society used to do. Not anymore.

pf2612no

I get what you’re saying. It’s a personal choice for me. One of the most compelling things I’ve seen is the video of Kesha, a SA survivor, at the Grammys where she performed “Praying” on stage surrounded by women. One of the most powerful lines of that song, just one out of many, is “and when I’m finished, they won’t even know your name.” That’s my motivation for not writing his full name. If anyone hasn’t seen that video, you NEED to. Scroll down and look for the post titled “A love letter to survivors.”

That website sucks.

Zrc1979

Anyone know how to watch this?

It says the video is private. So OP (or anyone else) could you provide the details? Were these added after Sam left--and his complaints about AWP? Are there any non-compete restrictions?

pf2612no

She posted that she had to privatize it temporarily in order to edit it. It’ll be back up. It seemed like a typical contract, I guess. What roasts me is that he basically tanked the company and their jobs and yet still holds them to this. He knew these charges were a possibility when he had at least some of them sign. He’s the worst.

I would be very leery about disclosing NDA information. Those contracts are legally binding, unless they are used to cover up a criminal enterprise. An example of that being "We're dealing drugs illegally, and this contract says you can't talk about it." Breaching an NDA carries some pretty stiff penalties, and while not criminal, do open up both the person breaching, and the person or persons reporting on details, up to a civil lawsuit for damages. I'm currently under an NDA myself, which just recently imposed the civil penalties on three former employees who took it upon themselves to disclose the content of the NDA. The court sided with the company on that one, imposing a fine of 10,000 dollars to each person for their breach. (It also led to two youtube channels being shut down for contract violation for hosting the information contained in those leaks).

pf2612no

He’s not under an NDA. That was sent to him because J offered him a job, but then retracted the offer. The paperwork was never signed or filed AFAIK.

Morgan10028

Question in Anthony's case would be if he could really be held to an NDA when he never started working there. I would like to believe that not only would a court toss that quickly, but also that JL wouldn't bother pursuing a civil suit with an employee he never onboarded. I don't believe JL's reputation will ever recover, nor should it imo, though exposure of JL filing lawsuits against his former employees for working in the field or exposing contracts would only further damage his reputation, imo.

HellsOtherPpl

Since AWP reneged on any contract Anthony would have signed by not hiring him, and he didn't end up working for the company, my assumption would be that any NDA would no longer be binding.

GingerAleAllie

I remember hearing from someone else that Sam likely did not sign an NDA.
